Quit crying! Martin is as corrupt as was Chretien, after all he was Chretien's Finance Minister, so if one carries the stink of corruption, they all do. Bottom line here is that it is time for a change. When you have a person like Paul Martin so narcacistic that he believes his own hype that he is the only one capable of running Canada, it is time for him and the Liberal Party to go on a long holiday. I'm not saying that Harper is will be any better, but at least it will be a change from having a Quebecois running the country. This is supposed to be a bilingual if you actually believe that crap, because Quebec certainly doesn't believe it, and Martin nor his predecessors from Quebec have done anything to make Quebec comply with bilingualism. I don't believe that to be PM one has to be able to speak French. I say that because even the Bloc members can speaka da English if they have to. I COULD NOT AGREE MORE... While I do not really dislike Martin as much as Chretien though. Chretien was hateful and corrupt. He hated western Canada, hated Quebec nationalism, hated the U.S., and hated our democracy. By creating a scandal that was eerily similar to Watergate, Chretien bought the 1997 election with dirty taxpayer money. Millions of tax dollars were used over a decade to make Chretien rich and ordinary Canadians poor. Over $100 million was used to pay for that jerk's lawyer. You are damn right I think Gomery was 100% correct to say Chretien was the man who oversaw this program. Remember when Chretien made those comments about political expediency? "In your country, in my country, all the politicians would be in prison because they sell their votes." Well I am so happy that in my country the PM just FIXES the elections with MY money. That's NOT political expediency? Chretien was incorrigible. He couldn't govern if his life depended on it. He had no plan B in 1995. Who saved Canada? Charest and Trudeau. NOT Chretien. He only won three times because his opposition was SPLIT THREE WAYS. But, of course, he had a little help from the taxpayer's wallet. Similarly, all of Chretien's policies were straight from the Trudeau playbook. Chretien phoned Trudeau 3-4 times a day because he had no idea what he was doing. Yes I am voting Conservative...how can it be any other way?

The Liberal Party imposes Canada on Quebec. The Conservative Party acknowledges the democratic deficit and promises to allow Quebec to have more autonomy in confederation. The CPC plan is a bit like sovereignty-association...by letting Quebec have more autonomy the CPC will not anger Quebec and impose federalism on Quebec. Quebec prospers in Canada...western Canada is happy...Canada is strong.

Much of this debate has been against the US right to own a gun. My apologizes. I'm sure there are plenty of innocent people killed in car accidents each day; many of them didn't choose anything, especially the children. And don't the kids who play with the gun "chose" too do so? My point was,,, saying that 802 people died b/c of guns is of course is heartbreaking (as is any innocent death is). But it does not; in anyway, make it wrong for people own guns. I guess all I'm saying is that a loaded gun around a house with kids is a recipe for disaster, no matter how much training and talking you might have with children. I can only speak for myself, and I'd never have a gun around. But prohibition is NEVER the answer to most problems in a democracy. The Liberals gun registry never prevented TO teenagers from acquiring AK 47s, why should we believe any of their other garbage will work??? The Liberals will only alienate the West with this policy...but I forgot, the Liberals hate the west. Trudeau so "if the west is so smart, why don't they govern themselves?" Another Liberal government may give them the motivation to try to.

They are responsible for enough of them as was Mulrooney...all Quebec PMs who governed with a complete disregard for the benefit of Canada and, in giving Quebec what it wanted, boosted separatist fortunes in Quebec. I am voting Conservative because I am standing up for Canada. If you live in Quebec you understand how many "children of Bill 101" as Landry called them are separatists. Canada doesn't work for them because neither Mulrooney nor his Liberal sucessors has seriously tried to keep Quebec in Canada. Instead they bribe francophone Quebecers (or, as Chretien did, just buy off the elections with dirty money) who see right through the BS. Harper may not the greatest, but Canada needs fresh blood at 24 Sussex. As for Trudeau, he had the guts to deal with the separatists. He has my respect (although I am not crazy about all his socialist policies).
