Yaro, Grow up your post makes no sense other than to highlight your huge pro-Liberal bias. Enough is enough. If you want to debate the issues fine. If not, then just grow up... Really, your descriptions are just partisan pandering...
-
Then let there be no doubt, you are an idiot. Canada is in FAR better shape then it was in 1993, and anyone who thinks that students will be voting conservative is getting melted brain syndrome. It will never be as good for students as it was in 1993 because we have to compete with the US and other jurisdictions that provide far less in the way of educational opportunity. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh Yaro... Fear mongering as is typical of your political type...
-
But these are questions that should be answered. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You must not be a Liberal voter... Sounds like you are a Conservative voter and, as such, a threat to Canadian unity... How dare you ask questions you absolutely have a right to know the answers to??? Oh my...

I try to be nice and start off easy... But apparently the left can't even handle that...

Big Brother is watching...

The bottom line: 81% of Republicans, 57% of Independents and even 51% of your opponents, the Democrats = mandate. 64% of Americans versus 23% of Americans = strong mandate. What the hell is wrong with the Democrats? Get rid of these far-leftists like Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid and replace them with centre-leftists. Honest, sometimes it seems like Al Qaeda is part of their voting base. They want Geneva Conventions rights for the terrorists, they get upset that the terrorists at Gitmo only get Duck a la Orange once a week, they whine about civil liberties regarding the govt eavesdropping on communications between foreign terrorists and American citizens, and they constantly demoralize the US military and at the same time, embolden the terrorists. What's next? Miranda Rights for the terrorists or they go free? The war was illegal and immoral, ergo the Saddam trial is a sham and he should be put back in power? The Republicans make their share of gaffes, but the Democrats seem to be out to lunch. Who is advising them on this strategy....or are they all infected with Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS)? If the MSM was anywhere fair-and-balanced, the Dems would be toast. And a big FU to the NY Times for reporting secret information to the world. You jerks just gave secret info to Al Qaeda and associates and will cost American lives. I think Ann Coulter might have been on to something when she spoke of you.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed Burns but these people are inherently STUPID... -
Harper looking good; Martin looking frazzled
tml12 replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
<{POST_SNAPBACK}> SHOOP I was kidding... But yes I agree with you... -
And Martin refusing to fly Canadian flags in his ships? Define Canadian values... Nothing to do with statesmanship..... my point was that this guy would be an embarrassment as a leader.... Well, when they're all supposed to get together and shake hands before the debate, and Harper pulls his hand away every time Duceppe tries to offer his..... It shows that Harper is too immature to act as a statesman on front of a crowd... How about if he had to do international presentations.... and refused to shake hands with only some of the other foriegn statesmen.... Not that far back.... weren't the Child Porn Crusaders trying to say that the liberals supported 14 year olds having sex... just last month.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Err, Your post brings nothing new to the debate other than partisanship. Really, YOU didn't address MY health care response (probably because you know how right I am) and Martin not flying flags is all about statesmanship. Is there any other issue you'd like to truly debate???

After making promise after same promise, election after election,it just doesn't wash anymore. So much for Martin getting the student vote. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "In worse shape than when the Liberals took power in 1993." Sounds like this country if you ask me...

Harper looking good; Martin looking frazzled
tml12 replied to Montgomery Burns's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Canadians are getting tired of Martin's and the Liberal's ridiculous slander... I just wish the Conservatives would move 10+ points in the polls... -
And Martin refusing to fly Canadian flags in his ships? Define Canadian values... Harper didn't shake Duceppe's hand. The point is what??? The Liberals sure did though...and they fight separation too The child porn thing was stupid but is long in the past...

I'll gladly touch the healthcare issue: Canada currently has two-tier healthcare system. The CPC is willing to bring light to this. The Liberals deny it (yet their budget cuts helped ferment private care and their party leader uses it) and the NDP idealistically says they'll save it (although private care is such an accepted reality at this point I am not sure they could get rid of it). As for abortion it is unlikely the Conservatives would bring up any legislation to change the laws and the same is true for SSM. Anything else troubling you err???
-
Yes I am.

And what are you proposing Honest Politician? I am well aware of Harper's past. And I am also well aware of how he'll probably govern. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was replying to the original thread post. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OK sorry.

Ah err, if I only knew how to use that quote feature (I've been here long enough) but you are apparently as opinionated as I am although you are a leftist. Well here are some things to consider: 1) There are Canadian soldiers in Iraq. Although not many (because we have about 30 people in the armed forces that have no budget) but they got sent there anyway secretly... 2) So when the Liberals scolded Mulrooney for corruption, you know lyin' Brian and the like, they secretly were looking up to him and anxiously awaiting to be so much more corrupt that when Auditor General Frasier made her announcement the Liberals were just wetting their bed with the excitement that they might be even more corrupt than Mulrooney (in other words, Turner and Trudeau were corrupt, as was Mulrooney, Chretien bought a majority government, the height of corruption in a democratic society, and that is all OK with you.) 3) The CPC does not hate the list of people you mention. They simply want to bring back civility and values to this country. If you call that hatred, you need to understand that you are so way beyond to the left that Jack Layton is starting to get scared... 4) Enough about SSM. You know it will never be reversed. As for welfare people, if they are out screwing around when they could be working and then looking for taxpayer-funded abortions then I must argue that any sane person would tell them to get the hell out because that is just ridiculous. Any other points of discussion???

The sun'll come out...tomorrow. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With Harper dressed as Annie and tomorrow being January 24th. (Just thought that was relevant).

How familiar are you with Quebec? This province sets its own immigration laws (forgetting for now all the other regional power the Quebec government has) and wants ITS OWN SEPARATE POSITION ON INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS. Does any U.S. state have this power? Does ANY REGION OF ANY COUNTRY HAVE SEPARATE LAWS FROM THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT??? This has been done by the Liberals in Ottawa and, on power, is seemingly an endorsement of Quebec sovereignty. When will enough become enough Eureka??? When will it be time for another party to govern this great nation???
-
And what are you proposing Honest Politician? I am well aware of Harper's past. And I am also well aware of how he'll probably govern.

Canada already has private healthcare and a full two-tier system. There is no realistic chance for an NDP government. Our best doctors are going to the States. What are you proposing should be done err?
-
Eureka, Your arguments are very typical of the anti-Conservative crowd. The Liberal Party has hurt Canadian federalism and we may never be able to save it. Western alienation is at an all-time high. Support for Quebec seperation is at an all-time high. The number of Canadians who care whether Quebec goes is at an all-time low. The Liberals have abused their power. They have abused taxpayer money. I don't hate Paul Martin. I think he is genuinely a decent person. But I hate Chretien and his supporters and cronies. And they are still in the Liberal Party. The Liberal Party bought several seats in Quebec in 1997 with dirty money. They have refused to say where they put the money. But there is no doubt they won a majority because of it. This scandal is unprecendented in a democratic country. It is unscrupulous and sick. The Liberal Party does not deserve to be elected not because of Martin, but because of the culture of superiority that is prevalent in the party. These people really believe they rule by devine right. The Liberals don't care about Canada. They don't care about the Armed Forces, about protecting Canadian sovereignty in the Arctic, about protecting Canada and making Canada a strong nation. Pierre Trudeau reportedly said that "Canada will be a strong country when Canadians throughout Canada feel an attachment to their province or country" or something to that effect. But neither he nor successive Liberal prime ministers have done anything to really strengthen this country. Instead, they have relied on anti-Americanism and Canada's supposed "peacekeeping and multicultural" status espoused by the old Molson Canadian commercials to keep Canada together. But when you lie it will catch up with you. And the Canada of today needs a lot of help. I may not agree with Stephen Harper on every issue. But I think Canada needs a fresh face and a new voice. Too long have we had to deal with Liberal lies and corruption. I believe there are a lot of very good and decent people in the Liberal Party of Canada. But there is a great hatred and evil involved in the party and taxpayer's money is used without regard. It is time for a change...it is time for a Conservative government...

I will not vote Liberal and, while you may be right, I will not vote for a party that is mirred in corruption.

Globe and Mail He was Martin's aid in Finance. Will Martin claim that he didn't know anything about Dauphin and Opions like he did with Adscam?, or like he didn't know what Goodale's decision on the income trust was? Are supporters of Martin just thick or do they just have their heads buried to deep in the sand, or both? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Both with a LOT of DENIAL...
-
I don't agree with that but I don't think much will come of it. For how many years have the Liberals agreed to decriminalize it???

Contempt for Liberal hatred of Canadian humanity...

Either he is becoming a Liberal, or he is not showing his true colours. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So I'm not the only one whose noticed Harper is turning more liberal than the Liberals. I'm sure the Harper of 1987 would have plenty to say about the policies of today's Harper. How credible is it that a person can throw away everything he's worked for and valued since 1987 only to make himself appear moderate in the last six months. Either he's turning his back on and alienating his grass-roots support or his core support knows something the rest of the swing voters don't. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We must hope he gets his balls back when he (hopefully) gets a majority government. I understand why he is doing what he is doing but striving to be more like the Liberals is like an alcoholic striving to drink 20 glasses of vodka a day instead of drinking only 15.
-
Does this really surprise anyone??? The Liberals are alcoholics and taxpayer money is their drink of choice.
