  1. OK it was a bit drastic. I just get a little carried away with my frustration sometimes...
  2. Now who's fear mongering? I wouldn't call that fear mongering...although I am sure it makes the Liberals fear...
  3. Well done Shoop. I admit I have gotten a little carried away recently with my pro-CPC attacks but I took a two-week vacation from work over the holidays and started thinking and talking to people. Prior to that, I was undecided. But now, I realize the CPC is the only choice. They will stand up for Canada. The Liberals can't, even if they wanted to. It is a shame Canada has come to this...but it is the Liberals who have authored the book. History will judge them accordingly. As for respectful debate, let's continue it. I will respect Liberal supporters (though I am unsure how they can respect themselves )
  4. No doubt about it.
  5. Argus, you don't like Paul Martin and it seems you don't like the Liberals in general. Fine.Far be it from me to defend Paul Martin but I would prefer to see him lose power for his own faults than for those imagined. The Liberal Party is involved in a Civil War and this makes it difficult for Martin to win an election. This should be obvious to anyone remotely politically aware in Canada. Let's be honest. Harper is not popular and people are not voting for him with alacrity. Despite all the scandals inherent in the Liberal Civil War, the two parties are in a deadheat. As to the End of Canada as we know it, this war within the Liberal Party involves the Kinsella/Copps/English-Canada Trudeau types and the Lapierre/Martin/co-operative federalism types. I'm sorry to give once again a Quebec spin to a federal issue but the status of Quebec within the Canadian federation has been the elephant in the living room for the past 30 years or so. This elephant gave federal politics the BQ and it is now breaking up the federal Liberal Party. Everything you say is true. I don't agree 100% with Harper. But I do believe we need him to govern Canada. I don't hate Paul Martin. He is either an ignorant dummy or was too self-assured for his own good. I do despise Chretien. I think he was so arrogant and put such a negative emphasis in his dictatorial style of governing that it has jaded the Canadian electorate for a long time in the future. Look at the horrid state of Canadian federalism today. The west is alienated, Quebec separatism is at an all-time high, Canada-U.S. relations just plain suck, and people in the GTA just don't seem to care about any of it. So no, I am not a neo-con. But frankly, I don't think it is a bad idea to give power to Harper even if he is a neo-con. He is the only one who can realistically govern Canada with a fresh and clean idea for Canadian federalism. Re-electing the Liberals would be apocalyptic and drastic. Canada might not survive it.
  6. You know I feel bad for Martin. I mean, he never really had a chance to govern this country after years of hateful Chretien's corruption. Think of how much fun he is having now... If people don't think the Liberals need to go now then there is no hope for Canada.
  7. LMAO just like a typical Liberal voter...
  8. I'd give them more credit than that, though the real reason is totally crass. They have one agenda, and that is to survive. They know that sooner or later any fiscally responsible government is going to look at the riduclous $1 billion they get annually in subsidies and say: no more. Much more likely to happen with the Tories than the Libs. Well, I'm the source of the info on the presentation of the info by CTV and CBC. Very very different level of emphasis on the same info. Call me a liar if you like, but that is the way it was, as evidenced by the linked story. Fair enough. I don't support the CBC though I'll be watching Hockey Day while I clean my house. I REALLY hope Cherry doesn't get political.
  9. Yes and no, it should be noted that a great many Americans strongly support the policy and administration. I think the worm turned on this when the administration was returned to power for a second term, I know thats when many Europeans came to the realization that the government in the US IS representative of the people. I have yet to comment on many of these prevocative responses to my original post but Yaro that last comment was inaccurate. 51% of Americans voted for Bush. Kerry was NOT a strong opponent because he was a flip-flop. Though I am not Liberal, I will repeat what the American Liberals say when they argue 51% is not a mandate because that is true. You would be a fool to think otherwise.
  10. Toronto SunAbove, The Liberals paid a Liberal lobiest to loby the Liberal government on the gun registry. Income Trust Option Canada What else? I know these are investigations or aligations but it still seems like a lot in the light of Gomery. Not to mention hundreds of thousands more the Conservatives will probably reveal once they (hopefully) get into power.
  11. Nonsense, the CPC wants less government and more freedoms, hardly fascist. That is a good joke! Totally wrong but a good joke none the less. The liberal ideals are closer to communism and the conservative ideals are closer to fascism. It is not a debate, it just simply is. Liberals close to Communism??? Conservatives close to Fascism??? You clearly never studied political science...
  12. Did Harper really say that? It's another good reason to vote for him (though for the record I am sure he was only talking about Joe Canadian Liberal voters).
  13. This one line and one line only is yet another illustration of why the CBC is a national disgrace. I watched both CBC and CTV coverage of this last night. The CTV correctly noted that the Tories had not yet announced their full strategy, and this info would be integrated into a fuller package. The CBC made it their co-lead story, and glossed over the Kenny remarks that : we have much more to come. Stand by. Relax FT the CBC is just getting nervous. I mean, this is the network that reported that Americans don't know what date squares are. Only under the anti-Americal Liberal government could the CBC use my tax dollars to present this incredibly important fact which isn't even true... The CBC has one agenda: Liberal dictatorial government and that is it...
  14. If you are laughing at the comments made by either Leafless or me than you must not live in the same Canada we do. Just look at the facts...
  15. Maybe you should put it by your computer to help you write more of your nauseous posts.... Sometimes the truth makes you nauseous...
  16. Is the left getting that scared??? They seem to be, and seem to be resorting to the 'scary and neo-con' stuff which is really another form of scare tactic as the word is actually used as a slur and simply meant to insinuate more 'scary scary' stuff. I'm not counting my chickens yet. I'm with you...
  17. I wonder how much dirty money is going into Ignatieff's riding? Are we Canadians so jaded by Liberal dictatorships that when we see an honest Harper we get scared? He MUST have a hidden agenda. It's the only way he could have gotten into politics!!! One thing's for sure: PMPM is done. Even if he wins a minority, that is unstable. And one thing I know about Liberal war rooms...the Libs don't like unstable distatorships.
  18. You are right...a poor choice of words on my part. The last dictatorship I thought of was Fascist but you just as easily could put up Communist. After all, the Commies were in power in the USSR in the 20th century almost as long as the dictatorial Liberals were here.
  19. Violence against liberals? Is that the New Conservative plan? Bullying people who don't share the same point of view? Whirly? Illegal Martial arts moves? Imprisonment? Somebody better tell Harper the gag order on stupidity is slipping. CPC Candidate Okay HP, I forgive you...that is wrong. But my respect for Monte just went out after reading that article. I don't think he'll be 1/50 as corrupt as Ralphie!
  20. LOL Horsefeathers yourself, your hate for Harper transcends any reasonable discussion. The Liberals are not used to having competition. They govern like benevolent dictators.
  21. Don't worry...I am sure the Liberals will BUY this election with YOUR money. If it wasn't mine too I wouldn't much care about you having to live under the one-party Liberal Fascist state you obviously adore.
  22. Said like a typical scared leftie. First, I would never vote Conservative if Harper was like that buffoon Mulrooney. Second, I don't live in Ontario so I don't follow Ontario politics. Third, if you don't want to vote Conservative, vote NDP. At least there is some self-respect in doing that.
