I live in Westmount/Ville Marie border (Westmount-Ville Marie riding). The Conservatives came in fourth place in 2004 and they are running my former municipal candidate who, during the Montreal mayoral race, came in last place when she left the mayor's party. There really is no hope for the Conservatives in my riding. Harper's best chances are two ridings near Quebec City where the Conservatives came in second place in 2004 and some ridings near Hull. I, for one, really hope they get them but I'll vote Conservative anyway. My Liberal MP Lucienne Robilliard doesn't live in the riding, never comes here and, although a senior cabinet minister, doesn't say or do much that I know of. I edited this to add the Conservative candidate Louise O'Sullivan is MUCH more active in the riding and lives a few blocks from me

Hi Leader. Ya I don't understand the insanity of the constant re-election of the Liberals. I'm not a liberal. I vote NDP (though I may, for the first time, be a strategic voter). So how are the CPC different from the republicans? Stephen Harper comes from the same school of thought as David Frum. I'm sure if I went through the web sites of Communist parties in Europe I'd find all sorts of similarities to the NDP platform. The U.S. reduced greenhouse gas emissions over 20% more than the "tolerant, friendly, and left-leaning" nation Canada. Martin and Chretien and Dion those neo-cons!!!

I have voted for numerous third parties many times but in this election I am voting Conservative. They are the only party that is telling it like it is. I contemplated voting for other parties, even the Liberals, while I took a vacation around North America over the holidays while I had some time off from work. However, I realized that the Liberals only lie and cheat and steal taxpayer money. They have created western alienation and severely hurt federalism in Quebec. Electing them again will only hurt Canada's integrity in the world and hurt federalism at home. Martin cannot make a decision if his life depended on it. While we often criticize Bush for not being a consensus builder we must remember Martin is TOO MUCH of a consensus builder. The NDP is too left for me and the Bloc is separatist. We need a Conservative government to bring back respect and integrity to Parliament, as well as bring back family values and respect for the law. I don't think the Conservatives will win though because the Liberal Party through its lies and myths have convinced Canada that it needs the Liberal Party. Like a heroine addict needs his heroine, the Liberal Party has convinced Canada it needs the Liberal Party. We need to vote Conservative and prove that we are a strong and self-sufficient nation that can survive without Liberal lies and corruption.

Agreed although you never know with the Liberals. I mean they are an unscrupulous party that says anything to get themselves elected and then "forget" every promise they and steal taxpayer money while preaching hate for anyone who disagrees with them. The Conservative Party is the only choice in this election.

The Liberal Party preaches hatred for: 1) The truth that they committed a crime by creating the sponsorship scandal. 2) The Americans. 3) The average voter by thinking they must be so stupid to believe that Martin is the king of healthcare and social programs when he cut funding for them in 1995. 4) Canada by allowing Martin to fly the flags of foreign companies and not funding the military and protecting Canadian sovereignty in the Arctic. The CPC is not hateful, they are just frustrated that voters in a G8 country would be so stupid to elect the hateful and corrupt Liberals.

PLEASE VOTE CONSERVATIVE!!! Although since you live in a Liberal riding as I do you must also be frustrated. The above post was very good but let me also add that I think that the Conservative Party will take very good care of the environment. As one of the few issues where I am not Conservative, the environment always makes me feel a bit guilty when I consider voting. The Conservatives will do wonders for the environment. Instead of signing Kyoto and doing nothing like the Liberals did, a Harper government will take steps to see that the environment is well protected. A vote for the Conservatives is a vote to stand up for change and for Canada.
