  1. ................ how Quebec would be dealt with intrigues me.
  2. It has been my observation that in demanding situations females cannot lead men effectively. Leadership is far more than giving orders (that is what managers do). First and foremost, Leadership is about respect and acceptance and has nothing to do with a C.V. She is a political appointment .......... another attempt to groom society. She creates division in the ranks, and 'in the ranks' teamwork is crucial.
  3. ............ representation of Viktor's political character........... Viktor is similar to any political hack in using faith to consolidate power or rhetoric to undermine an opponent. The National Socialist German Workers Party (1933) vowed support to the (Catholic) Centre Party in 1933 in exchange for the passing of the Enabling Act - the rest is history. Ah, the Centre Party was eaten last, but it was eaten paving the way for a dick-tator.
  4. Common sense tells you that the MAID option is saving any Nation with Universal Health Care, tens of millions $$ ...........more. Common sense also tells you that Life Insurance premiums would (will) be affected. MAID is also likely more class-conscious, those more affluent have the means $$ to seek / afford options to prolong life in a more dignified and comfort aided manner. MAID is ripe for abuse in terms of escalation. Standby for the rhetoric promoting it on a more broad scale .................. what(?) .............. it's happening now??? The devil you say!
  5. So called, 'MAID' enables a sense of control for those diagnosed with T.I. or chronic suffering. Increasingly tho it will raise concerns re: the impact on life insurance policies. Likely somewhat akin to a person paying vehicle insurance for years with no accidents and timing out vs. an individual with vehicle insurance over a short period having a major claim payout re: property or liability - the insurance company loses $$. Multiply that loss over tens of thousands of claims ............. and increasing. No doubt the funding gov is saving billions on health care costs - hell of a campaign slogan tho.
  6. ..............I argue there are (3) that could have global repercussions.
  7. No question that there are generational shifts in attitudes toward faith. Rather than bemoan the phenom(?) examine the reasons. Younger generation are raised in a digital age which by extension provides instant info and broad exposure to a society that is more mosaic than melting pot. This type of society is far less inclined to accept religious doctrine and leans more Liberal than Conservative. Generally and increasingly, future generations will seek so-called, personal spirituality that aligns with contemporary values like social justice, environmental responsibility and global interconnectedness........... political? Gone are the days when a religious ideology could preach, quoting scripture unchallenged. Political hacks promote, encourage faith for one reason - political leverage - talking to the choir is one way to get their support in other ways? Viktor is no different - I'd agree that he is playing for higher stakes tho - he is in bed with the devil and his name is Putin! On Easter Sunday (last), Putin released a seemingly boilerplate message celebrating Christian 'joy and love" (OMG!). The missive ended with a jarring statement that expressed thanks for the Russian Orthodox Church 'support for the Fatherland'................ in destroying Ukraine.
  8. The house at 24 Sussex was originally commissioned in 1866 by lumberman and Member of Parliament Joseph Merrill Currier as a wedding gift for his wife-to-be Hannah Wright. It was completed in 1868. Oh, Kanada!
  9. RE: You underestimate the ability of good writing to frame such a character in the way that he could be considered as having a considerable, if not valid, point of view. My political point exactly. It's proven to work .......... quite recently in fact ......... continues to work. Please don't get confused with opinion polls showing a decline in Trump's popularity and the continued support of those same people willing to "pull the lever for him" Call him AB as a pejorative is you must .............. but it has worked for him, continues to work for him and will work for him again unless there is some shake up in the Left. REALPOLITIK? No question.
  10. Vicktor Orban is in political decline - expect an assassination. Not Vicktor's.
  11. No question Trump's strategy is to employ economic warfare............... Venezuela notwithstanding ......... to get sweeping concessions. The majority now realize that the swift boat attacks had nothing to do with controlling contraband into the U.S. Venezuela is two fold, an opportunity to demonstrate U.S. military power and Trump's willingness to display it and secondly, regime change - endgame is to be covert power behind Venezuela political power - the, 'sell' as always is the democracy argument. This 'play' isn't new by any means - but it's usually done covertly thru CIA. The problem with regime change is that a common adversary unites a Nation - seeing it now in Venezuela, and secondly succession is usually a crap shoot. If history is any indication, U.S. involvement in a Country's domestic politics is usually an unmitigated disaster - Iran HAS to be the prime example but of course there are many others. Oh, yeah, 'you break it, you own it"
  12. ............. both suffer (suffered) staffers, campaign organizers that refused to 'talk truth to power'. In Trump's case it was the correct move In Biden's it was a disaster that has destroyed the party ........... difficult to quantify the long term effects The Left has lost it's support .......... arguably even more crucial, the populations trust. Biden was a conspiracy ....... They are ALL political hacks - the stench is overpowering.
  13. The, SITCOM, 'All in the Family' could never exist today - the Left wouldn't allow it. I get it? However, to say that AB diatribes didn't reflect what the majority were thinking is to ignore two facts; General 2024 and the Sitcoms popularity. Could Bunkers rhetoric play a role in any election during it's heyday - hell, no! NO prospective nominee would EVER quote AB at that time........... 'locker room talk'? Today, hell, yes! The gloves are OFF, baby.
  14. ................ whether it's the white cat or the black, people don't believe anything coming out of Congress, the Executive or the apolitical rulings of SCOTUS. When the trust is gone and it IS gone - everything else follows. Rumor is some A$$HOLE provided Trump's campaign with 300 million? Don't blame Trump for that tho, it was legit. IT WAS LEGIT???
  15. Archie had the courage to say what the majority were thinking and didn't GAF - somewhat akin to Trump.
  16. ................ many have condemned the U.S. , particularly the President ........ going so far as to say the country, it's ideology and the source of inspiration is in decline. They go on with their rhetoric uttering the warning that the 4 Horses of the apocalypse are saddling up? All this might be completely true, somewhat true or chicken little? I for one, whatever the outcome, will find the journey fascinating. ........... I find Trump's strategies masterful and effective. One thing is for sure, Trump has ripped the facade OFF U.S. politics and exposed it for the corrupt cesspool that it is. Buckle up, gentlemen ............... it's going to get far more interesting.
  17. does it matter what I think, you think ............. it's baked in.
  18. .................. intrigued how a fascist would deal with Quebec - kind of blue-on-blue?
  19. .............. I wouldn't label it as a disease - religious ideology is by definition, conservative. A tree that won't bend in the wind, breaks. Catholicism is likely doomed for that very reason - between a rock and a hard place. In terms of survival, it is likely more strategic for a faith to 'bend' - be inclusive - a smaller tent does not work re: spreading the 'word'. I don't criticize / ridicule those with faith - quite the opposite - just stay out of my lane. Hypocritical doesn't adequately describe the majority.
  20. When I was a kid - my mother would tend the graves of our ancestors. On many of the headstones would be inscribed, 'Rest in Peace' I never understood the meaning - I do now.
  21. RE: " I've seen freedom of speech and belief on a certain issue even cancelled in modern mainline churches." I think u could live with that tho? When I referred to cancelled, I meant literally. Daresay that would test a person's faith.
  22. Freedom of faith (religion) is believed to be by some to be a fundamental human right that guarantees individuals the liberty to practice (express) and follow a belief of their choice without fear, coercion or persecution. Many overlook the fact that this 'right' was obtained with the sword, not the plow. I respect a martyr but give me the sword, eh? Be grateful for your 'right' ......... and for those that defend it. In this World, today, heralding 'freedom of religion' will get you, your family, your community, your country cancelled in the most obscene manner.......... course they're doing it with 'their' gods blessing
  23. The FCC has the authority to decide media mergers - currently it is reviewing its media ownership regulations. The Chairman of the FCC is appointed by POTUS. Carr was nominated by both Biden and Trump - and was confirmed by the Senate. Tremendous power - it is legit tho. If ya don't like the taste change the chef. Democracy ...... bwahahahahaha
  24. ........... Gaza is an amazing place, amazingly awful .................. just like its GOVERNMENT body.
  25. Indeed. [Canada’s Liberal Party is Trying to Legalize Children Killing Themselves through MAID Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program, initially introduced in 2016 as a compassionate option for terminally ill adults facing imminent death, has undergone a series of expansions under the Liberal Party government led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. What began as a narrowly defined end-of-life choice has morphed into a broader mechanism that increasingly targets the non-terminally ill, the disabled, and now, alarmingly, children.] ............ and they wonder how a populist could ever be popular???
