CBS caves to political pressure
John Stone replied to Radiorum's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
def not censored - deferred common sense and concern were the determining factors. lol -
I don't know 'scripture' but it's always seemed to me that it's interpreted - the interpretation determines right / wrong. Akin to the Constitution - the group of apolitical a$$holes who interpret it decide the interpretation. Not that long ago the population of Europe was illiterate - who interpreted the scripture - the Priests? Now, that is faith amongst the flock, brother. Many have much to answer for ............... but they are typical of many that wield power - corrupt ...

.............indeed - if I'm anything I'm agnostic. that said, I've seen the value of faith ........ my opinion is that it's nothing to do with bricks-n-mortar or some dude interpretating the Constitution for the believers. faith transcends all that IMO and is deeply personal to the individual. seriously , dude, your interpretation is based on what you've been told, read, or seen depicted - nothing wrong with that tho. I've seen Jesus depicted many ways - however the belief is the same and the message is the same. 'repent and believe in the gospel'

What else to expect from a NATO deadbeat.
John Stone replied to paxamericana's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Those that fly and fight for ur country say the F35 is a better airframe ........ and by extension deterrent. Meanwhile.... ....... this controversy is likely destroying the morale within the ranks and is motivated by those who haven't and won't have 'skin in the game'. -
Why were fusion and fission weapons invented? Likely to prove an academics theory - immortality in discovery? Science and by extension, technology continues apace ......... there is no stopping it. Discovery in all forms has historically proven to preserve an ideology ........ Devil take the hindmost - hopefully it won't be the West.

........ it is true that Israel has been subsidized by countless U.S. Administrations (don't want to get into that) - mostly weapons related. But look beyond that, look at the country - rule of law - science - technology - progress - standard of living ... and on and on. Now compare that to the broad region. Who should really be concerned about the future? There is no future for the region - it's like Catholicism in the Western world - no future - too conservative. Don't you see that this disparity is one of the reasons those authoritarian regimes that surround Israel want to crush it using the stalking horse of Islam. My money is on the Jews - they say the secret weapon that the Jews possess is the International diaspora. Some truth to that.

The ethernet shines a light on government corruption, real or imagined. Real or imagined - think about that? In politics, it is really the same thing. Significant historical figures realized that ...... exploited it. But they didn't have the ethernet. ......... I laugh when I hear society promoting on-line voting.......OMG!

................... 9/11 changed the World - most remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when it occurred - older gen equate it to the day Kennedy was assassinated. Could never understand the ivory tower they put that guy on.

DRIPA has had and will have significant consequences in Canada, particular in B.C. (Crown Land). Basically, without getting into the weeds DRIPA will increasingly lead to how laws are interpreted and applied - def all provincial laws will be interpreted with DRIPA as a touch stone. Def deepen social division and absolutely undermines democratic accountability. Understandably, business and investors are concerned(???). It is like water running over a smooth cement floor - where it goes and the consequences are unknown. RE: "It's hard to get overly excited over things that will still take a couple of generations to sort out." I don't share your complacency - it will be exploited ruthlessly - and why wouldn't it be? They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions - I think that describes Justine Trudeau here and his father with the Notwithstanding clause.

........... yeah, could really throw a wrench into an individual trying to get a mortgage on land that they could never own at the least, disputed. Development? OMG Shoot-in-foot much? UNDRIP was a U.N. RESOLUTION passed by the General Assembly there was no weight behind it - why would Canada EVER adopt such an agreement - beyond me. The government of Stephen Harper adopted it in 2010 with the proviso that it was a statement of aspirations but not legally binding. The same position was taken by the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. Liberalism at it's best (worst) FUBAR .........

........... it works ........... the question is whether Trump's echo chamber is getting larger or smaller - it will always be present. Tucker doesn't actually believe what he spouts - he exploits those that do and it has made him a fortune. Don't deny the poor man his crust - years from now he'll recant, maybe write a book ........... and absolutely no one will GAF.

........the problem of contraband is a Canadian border problem? Canada cannot and never could and likely never will be able to defend it's sovereignty in any way, shape or form. Like any country, it really comes down to money, political will, personnel and geography. Political hacks of course are grateful to have a convenient diversionary excuse - blame the U.S.

"Hamas and the Palestinian resistance factions will not lay down their weapons. We will continue to exert pressure on the Zionist enemy through the armed struggle. We met with the Palestinian factions in Cairo and agreed to escalate the confrontation and the struggle..... Resistance is the only way to confront the enemy." — Mahmoud Mardawi, senior Hamas official, palininfo.com, August 15, 2025.

Yeah, UNDRIPA really fk'd things up - and it was so unnecessary. UNDRIPA carried no legal weight - it was a resolution passed by the U.N. General Assembly (2007??) The British Columbia Court of Appeal (Dec 5th, 2025) confirmed UNDRIPA be incorporated into the B.C. positive law with immediate effect??? Justin Trudeau officially adopted UNDRIP 2010. The legislation to implement UNDRIP was passed by the LIberal Government in June 2021 - receiving royal assent June 21, 2021. UNDRIP will have a huge effect broadly IMO What UNDRIP basically does is challenge Freehold Ownership - which gives the property owner the legal entitlement to do whatever he pleases with land that he/she purchases. Thanks Justin.

Israel is universally considered a prosperous country with highly developed free market economy and a VERY strong focus on high technology. It actually ranks among the top economies globally, GDP exceeds 500 billion? The country has a high, western standard of living, possesses a robust high tech sector and a significant number of multinationals. The country continues to make advances in agriculture, DEFENSE, and healthcare - which of course contributes to its overall strength and resilience. Israel is a success story - very much so - definitely has the reach to defend itself and beyond (project power) ranking within the top 15 of the most power and ADVANCED global militaries. IMO I can only see Israel getting even more powerful in a Global sense but specifically regionally. The region is entering a phase of Liberalism - granted it is a small beginning but it is growing. That is good news for Israel and anathema to those (borrow a phrase) shit-hole countries. Israel over the past (2) years basically said, 'enough is enough', 'fk the World opinion' ............... and the quiet majority agree with them. No, I think the countries that need to worry when fossil fuels become less strategic are those regional countries that have oppressive, sectarian regimes that only rely on energy to sustain their hate. Time works for Israel.
