They say that those that continually bang their heads against the wall feel immediate relief when they stop banging their head against the wall. The so-called Palestinian's aren't so much a cause celebre for justice as they are simply a political football. Dude, ur debating a geo-graphical area re: something that occurred over 100 years ago. ............ any actions / reactions by the Jews are a reaction/concern for their National security ....HISTORY justifies their actions. HISTORY is riddled with injustice ..............Holocaust is a good read.

Mamdani is a disaster
John Stone replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Mamdani ran on a platform that telegraphed how he was going to govern ....... The strategy of deficit spending, combined with a crushing debt is arguably criminal. More the pity is that deficit spending saddles future generations with debt.......... higher taxation.......... Political hacks would rather sign the cheque, stay incumbent and punt. Becoming a far too typical approach ........... and increasingly less fiscal room when an $concern arises. -
Screw Europe, they're functionally dead

U.S. exports are more than 3 trillion - over 10 percent of the GDP Millions of jobs rely on exports ..... A nation today really can't sustain continued GDP growth by discounting exports - and the domestic market alone won't take up the slack ............. and that goes triple if it's a consumer based economy. . -
Mexican drug cartels supposedly rake in 12 - 15 billion annually They are the Global, top earning (?) criminal organizations in the Global drug trade. On display are primarily cocaine, heroin, meth. The geo-location of Mexico to the US makes it Cartel utopia - perfect location, perfect consumer - American is addicted to drugs. The profits these organizations generate makes them invulnerable to elimination. 15 Billion - money to bribe ............ any government official, any level....... and if money don't work ...........well, 'silver or lead'. Do you believe the Mexican government is corrupt? haha There is no doubt that Trump's direct threats to the Mexican government (Tariffs) were the squib that touched off these Government raids .... but when ur talking the type of profit these organizations generate it's like playing whack-a-mole. Illegal drugs are a political football issue - fodder for political hacks. (war on drugs?) All that said, authorities need to lean into controlling it ............. the most vulnerable are the young. Oh yeah, drug abuse is not akin to alcohol abuse ........... drugs rule ur sole ....... a user will do anything to obtain the 'fix'.

Hockey will likely always be more of a National sport in Canada than it ever could be in the U.S. Likely has something to do with the Canuck winter, 9 months of winter and 3 months of poor skating. Ditto curling and ................................................ curling, etc.

Screw Europe, they're functionally dead

that is the strategy .................can it overcome a global economy - that is the question. -
................. supposedly not as great a game as the 'Miracle on Ice' - 1980 Those amateur fks were basically taking on the Russian military Demonstrated that God is indeed an American hockey fanatic.

The discussions were LED by Carney - the aim is to form a new trade alliance that would include nearly 40 countries - new reflection of the World? Middle powers unite to counteract the impact of unilateral tariffs and economic pressure? Def Global strategy - from CANADA?? Oh, yeah - definite international / domestic political equity. Dovetails nicely with Carneys comments at Davos.

.......... possibly China now has a conduit to U.S. 'chip' technology thru the UAE. The UAE is poised to acquire advanced A.I. chips from the United States - deal involves 1/2 million chips from Nvidia. The deal is on hold due to NSA concerns regarding potential smuggling to China. Quid pro quo? ................ no laws broken, more of a judgement concern.

Indeed. There is no other explanation. ........no ballz maneuver.

Best Argument for an Independent Quebec
John Stone replied to August1991's topic in Health, Science and Technology
Canada protects the Quebec dairy market through ‘supply management’ – been in place since 1970s’ Huge benefit to Quebec and one of Trump’s (legitimate) pet gripes. Supply management ensures stable prices and production quotas – by capping imports and only allowing a limited Provincial supply to be produced prices can be artificially adjusted (no competition from outside the Province) To maintain the quota system, it has been estimated that over $10 BILLION worth of raw milk has been dumped between 2012 - 2024. HUGELY unfair. -
Screw Europe, they're functionally dead
John Stone replied to paxamericana's topic in The Rest of the World
That would be a silly idea. Over 70 percent of the U.S. GDP is based on Consumerism (not manufacturing). -
........the fall of Quebec 1759 was indeed a significant victory for Britain and forged North American history.

Screw Europe, they're functionally dead
John Stone replied to paxamericana's topic in The Rest of the World
In 2024, transatlantic trade in goods and services reached over 2.5 trillion, USD. Both the EU and US are top trading partners in goods for each other. As the European economy moves so does the U.S. economy - and visa versa. This fact had a lot to do with European reconstruction - post WWII (Marshal Plan) I mean, 'who ya gonna trade with'? What society has as much disposable income as a 'free society'? China? Ok. -
Climate change is a Myth
John Stone replied to paxamericana's topic in Health, Science and Technology
......... arguably people today can generally forget about climate change ............. although its having an effect now it is nothing like it will be for the next couple of generations. Water, food, clean air and disease security are all at risk ...........but for the near-future, generations..... not now. Something like the 4 horses of the apocalypse is predicted. There will be war ......... the World will feast on it . Rhetoric will rule. Fall of Giants. Too harsh? Perhaps. -
Congratulations to the U.S. squad in winning the Gold. Great goaltending - 42 shots on the net!! I'd remind everyone that Canada took home the Gold in ............................................men's curling.

Voting public are beyond mere politics ......... policy ........... governance? Today, they want to be entertained ......... a hack these days and for the foreseeable future needs to be an entertainer to win. On the other hand, Trump shies away from mere Governance ......... his style is to be a ruler. And 'they' agree and applaud the show, while they sit and watch the 'King' deliver the coup de grace to SCOTUS ........I mean, who's left?? I haven't enjoyed myself so much while watching a spectacle like that in years. OMG - the guy is the King of entertainment. The gravy has to be the State of the Union - Tuesday - can't wait!
