  1. Quoting actual data and not someone's subjective opinion doesn't help? That's an interesting perspective... I watch the BC news as well but don't keep a personal scorecard of those instances. That's where the data part comes in. Do I think something more should be done for repeat and specially repeat dangerous offenders, yes I do, but the conversation started with overall crime. I'm curious where I said I'm against changing any bail laws? If you can point that out for me much appreciated. And I know it's not falling into your narrative of what I should be saying as a 'lefty', but I don't believe I've said anything in defence of crime or dangerous offenders? Again, if you can point that also out much appreciated.
  2. I have no idea. Again though, percentages staying the same from that 2019 data crime is still down.
  3. The rest is a small %. Don't confuse our recently too high levels of immigration with multiculturalism. Public Opinion: A 2020 Statistique Canada survey found that 92% of Canadians aged 15 and over agreed that ethnic or cultural diversity is a Canadian value. https://www.environicsinstitute.org/insights/insight-details/canadians-aren-t-just-adapting-to-diversity-there-are-data-to-show-we-re-embracing-it
  4. So not a lot different than your typical useless and unintelligible riddles. As with Joe, clearly there are consequences to aging...
  5. You said you were an immigrant. Calling you one is racist? And no need to call you a racist any longer.. It is what it is....
  6. Being called out for it has obviously upset you... And no, Canadian's are not frightened to speak out. In your timeframe analogy of 'being more Canadian' I'm 'more Canadian' than you and born and raised as such. It's always good to listen to an immigrants perspective, but I don't need an immigrant telling me what a Canadian is.
  7. I'll be sure to keep an eye on it, but you're aware that Afghanistan isn't part of Europe, right...? I don't typically use all the catchphrases like 'gaslighting' so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this reply 'gaslighting'? Canadians value ethnic and cultural diversity, which appears to be a problem for you. Perhaps you should consider relocating if you're not hopeful for a future?
  8. No need to. You already did; 'If you want to quibble about government threats, OK, fine.'
  9. I know this has affected the US economy and will likely continue to do so. No kidding we don't 'have the cards', but that doesn't mean we bow to Trump's every wish as you seem to be advocating. Again, the fentanyl stuff is BS and that facts say that. How much you want to think is coming into the country is totally subjective and obviously it's not making its way south looking at the seizures, or lack of (?) given it's US customs that checks people going south, not Canada. But generally no, I'm not at all against safe borders...why would I be. The soundbites are hard to ignore. He's that akin to that yappy little chihuahua that keeps coming back every couple days to bite at your ankles...
  10. Appeared to me that you discriminate on both race and religion here. So be it.... 'A lot of people there to vote and I noticed a large number of middle eastern looks speaking the rough language (Arabic). They all had come to elect muslim candidate likely some without knowing anything about him other than he was muslim. Fortunately this did not happen.'
  11. Ahhhh... we all got fooled again did we. The vast majority of Canadian's believe in and accept diversity. Open your mind and give it a try sometime....
  12. Lessening our immigration numbers and what our Canadian values of ethnic and cultural diversity are two entirely different subjects. I'm one of those people who believe we went too far with immigration entrants and need to correct that. That doesn't in any way mean I don't hold our cultural values. Yes, he called you a foreigner because you told him you were one. I certainly won't speak for Michael but I read your comments as being racist, not political.
  13. Absolutely comical the same minions who made free speech one of their core stances are now against it, but only from the supposed left side. 15 pages and still trying to justify being hypocritical and mindless. Minions do what they do....
  14. Your view of Canadian values certainly don't align with what the vast Canadian's beleive are our values of ethnic and cultural diversity. An odd comment saying you're 'a lot more Canadian' because you're assuming someone has not lived in the country as long as you have. What is the time period of citizenship that makes someone a lot more 'Canadian'?
  15. I saw that 2019 data. It may or may not have changed but we're in 2025 now and there data shows crime has been decreasing. You can take extrapolate the same data to day and still the same....crime has been decreasing. Decreasing enough.... depending who you talk to I suppose.
  16. I couldn't find 'non-reported' instances but the conversation is about crime. There's the report.
  17. You are correct. My quick google AI search was just that...artificial, or I errored. My bad....
  18. I absolutely take to no pleasure whatsoever in anyone being unnecessarily killed, which political reasons certainly qualify as. That said I agree with what the Rock's daughter said.... Raine, 24, added her own response to the mix via X. Responding to a post that read: “If you want people to have kind words when you pass, you should say kind words when you’re alive,”
  19. 2024 data was released 7/22/25. The timeliness of release seems rather efficient to me.... https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quotidien/250722/dq250722a-eng.htm
  20. My reason is that I quoted statistics, not a subjective opinion. Is there a problem with that? And if my entire family and I, as well as my circle of friends had criminal records what's the problem if we all now adhere to our laws?
  21. All in all, tariffs seem to be working out quite well so far.... ‘Tidal wave of problems’: With harvest here, Trump’s trade war pushes some US farmers to the brink In 2018 and 2019, the first Trump administration paid billions to farmers who were hurt by trade wars the president had started. It was “hush money to keep them sedated,” said Chris Gibbs, an Ohio farmer who previously was the Shelby County Republican chairman and voted for Trump in 2016, but has switched parties and is now the county Democratic chairman. “It is a tough situation right now with the lack of markets that we have, or places to market our crop,” Euken said. “And it’s kind of the government that put us in that situation. So I hate to pin it on the American taxpayer, but if they want us to survive, we are going to need some help.” Still, he said, he isn’t sure Trump is willing to bail out farmers a second time — because to the term-limited Trump, he said, “it doesn’t matter anymore.” “The last time when we had bailouts, it was to his benefit to bail us out for future votes,” Euken said. “Buying a future vote is not going to help him one bit.” https://www.cnn.com/2025/09/20/politics/us-farmers-trump-tariffs-dire-consequences
  22. Who told you that...Poilievre? I'll go with factual stats and not 'well, you know....' As a %, declining.... Is violent crime too much yes. Does it need to get railed in, yes. Sorry but hard to rest something that doesn't have facts other than 'people don't bother to report'. If there is a data set showing facts of people not reporting crimes I'm all ears. Until then I'll go with factual data from reported crimes. It's an angry world right now with a lot pf people struggling to make ends meet financially and emotionally. It's only logical that has an affect socially in crime stats not only here but everywhere.
