  1. I understand what you're saying but the facts are that overall, the best athletes are playing in the NFL. If a CFL player could, he'd be on an NFL roster. I helped coach minor football a number of years ago and we had two ex-CFL guys on the staff that went to US colleges. Their take was that the CFL 'maybe had 5 studs' on the team roster whereas the NFL is '5 deep at every position with studs'. Nathan Rourke is a good example... lit up the CFL but couldn't even make the practice squad roster in the NFL. Not sure Ricky Williams is the best example....a different cat that ultimately ended up back in the NFL after the short CFL stint. To say the NFL just has big lumbering athletes and not those small nimble guys isn't accurate. They have those type guys, but also many more that are bigger, faster and can still run around corners (who I think are probably the best athletes on the field). The money part is irrelevant only because the games are on different planets when it comes to fan engagement and revenues. I agree that media, hype, passion, etc, etc has a lot to do with the popularity of the NFL game but fact remains it's incredibly popular for all those and more reasons. The CFL needs to do something so if tweaks to the game will generate more interest from fans to get them in seats and watching TV I think that's a good thing. Again, that's just my 2 cents....
  2. I love football, but growing up across the river from the US and with that media influence I was always and continue to be an NFL and College ball fan. The CFL was and still is an after thought for me, despite loving the game and having some friends who played in the league. I don't follow the CFL closely enough but I'm not surprised they're trying to do something like this to get more people in the seats and/or watching on TV. Just looked it up and see that 7 of the 9 teams lost money in 24/25 and average attendance of ~23k so something clearly needs to change. More Canadian's follow the NFL and can't really comment on whether people are attached to the 'Canadiana' of the CFL game (?) but end of the day....I think people want to watch the best athletes with the best product on the field/ice/ballpark/floor. If changing the rules to get more people interested and team owners making money then it's good for the league regardless of losing any 'Canadiana'. Will it get me to watch...no not likely, but that's just me. My 2 cents....
  3. I've never driven the Alaskan Hwy but according to BC Hydro and Northern info there are chargers every ~150 kms or so. Doesn't appear driving an EV on it is a challenge at all .... https://www.theglobeandmail.com/drive/mobility/article-promise-of-rural-ev-road-trips-grows-as-first-nations-help-bridge/#:~:text=Since I travelled the highways, let them cross the road. https://www.travelnbc.com/2023/07/12/sustainability-in-the-region-driving-the-alaska-highway-in-an-electric-vehicle/ https://pluginbc.ca/b-c-s-electric-highway-nearly-complete-with-more-chargers-and-serious-upgrades-on-the-way/
  4. No political bias at all....but the first thing I'd say is that Trump or any other politician shouldn't delve into subjects of this importance without conclusive facts. This was an RFKjr thing from the beginning and despite medical community disagreement they charged ahead for whatever the reason....ego, news cycle, who knows. 1. No, they shouldn't have come out with this. I'm not even remotely close to medicine research educated but I'd take more assurance in comments from people who's careers have been devoted to this; “Suggestions that acetaminophen use in pregnancy causes autism are not only highly concerning to clinicians but also irresponsible when considering the harmful and confusing message they send to pregnant patients, including those who may need to rely on this beneficial medicine during pregnancy,” a statement from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists said. “If you don’t take Tylenol when you have a fever, especially in the first trimester, we know that can be detrimental to the fetus,” Gyamfi-Bannerman said. 2. That's a hypothetical so I can't answer it. If we had the luxury of hindsight the obvious answer would be 'yes, they were right for doing this'. If hindsight shows otherwise then obviously nothing at all should have been said by politicians. It's a hypothetical though, just like 'may' and 'needs more research' means nothing is conclusive. I don't remember any Tylenol talk or my wife even needing to take it when she was pregnant for our children...? My daughter is pregnant right now though and if she had a fever and asked my advice of what to do (which she's not going to) then I'd say listen to what medical experts say, not a politician. For me and I'd hope the majority of people, that's only common sense. Who knows with the vid... I'm sure lots of people are embellishing for their 30 seconds of fame but there's also a lot of very uneducated and gullible people out there who hang on the words of a president. Let medical experts talk about medicine and politicians talk about politics.
  5. Weak... the data of facts is right in front of you and you disregard that for 'polls' that 'figure' more liberals want to see Trump offed so therefore liberals are the most violent. That's real weak... The data says the right is more inclined to political violence but regardless and to my original point.... I don't see the political violence calming down and going anywhere anytime soon. Far too much divisiveness right now that keeps getting inflamed each day by the one person who could actually quell it.... the president. Naturally you have extremists on both sides of the political fence who feel more compelled to act because of his words and their twisted ideals.
  6. No you can't. Those are 'polls', not facts. You're a varsity Maga using that kind of stuff. Try these; https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/right-wing-extremist-violence-is-more-frequent-and-deadly-than-left-wing-violence-data-shows https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Aggression-and-party-affiliation-Republicans-were-significantly-more-aggressive-than_fig2_221980088 https://www.start.umd.edu/publication/comparison-political-violence-left-wing-right-wing-and-islamist-extremists-united
  7. Nobody's crying. It was fact and kind of funny. Brilliant comment on the man/woman thing though.
  8. You can't go there... there's as much or more to cite for those conservatives going after liberals. Regardless, everyone is right and nobody is wrong. Don't see that changing anytime soon.
  9. So we got from me saying the reason Trump played the fentanyl card was so that he could declare national emergency and impose tariffs, to the ins and outs of the border spend... I agree we need to do a much better job of inspecting containers that arrive by sea or land but also say it's not the national emergency he makes it out to be from what goes through the northern border. That was done for his tariff 'policy'.
  10. There was probably people drinking bleach during covid too. Fools everywhere...
  11. A couple fine Canadian patches for a couple good cigars.... that's win/win. I remembered that with this thread and guessing there's still more than a few Americans right now travelling overseas saying EH and trying to be Canadian...
  12. August1991, your arrogance and opinion of yourself is incredibly ill informed.
  13. lol... not the main reason but one of them was the loss of having someone pay my gas after I retired. I had that good fortune my entire career and didn't like when I had to start paying 😂 I did the 'business use' claiming of insurance, maintenance, license with cra but that wasn't a big tax benefit for me. It was time for a new vehicle anyway and was set on a PHEV. I put a few on but wouldn't say lots of miles...set the timer charge for overnight and seems like I'm only at the gas station once month if that. Have had it a year now and so far, real happy with it. Every day I'm seeing more EV and PHEV on the road.
  14. Yep, ignorant rascist punks like you are everywhere, but fortunately in small circles. Go find that rock to crawl back under...
  15. I don't care if you've been posting here since the beginning of time. I also have no idea what a fake AI poster is, and have little interest in trying to prove anything to you. Davey Lopes and Steve Sax, but you wouldn't remember any of that. So much for the financial bubble. Back to the psilocybin...
  16. Why.... because like I replied 'may' and 'more research' is not definitive. You can understand that, can't you? You cite one article. Now answer why you don't accept the opinions of most every other medical agency commenting on this? You obviously fail to see what harm could potentially come from words of a politician; “If you don’t take Tylenol when you have a fever, especially in the first trimester, we know that can be detrimental to the fetus,” Gyamfi-Bannerman said. “Suggestions that acetaminophen use in pregnancy causes autism are not only highly concerning to clinicians but also irresponsible when considering the harmful and confusing message they send to pregnant patients, including those who may need to rely on this beneficial medicine during pregnancy,” a statement from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists said. Other opinions; The claims from Trump and his health secretary were also widely condemned by medical experts and regulators around the world. The British health regulator MHRA said on Monday there remains no evidence linking the use of paracetamol during pregnancy with autism and that it continues to recommend it for pain relief. That view was also backed by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), which re-confirmed on Tuesday that the drug is safe for use in pregnancy. A statement from the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine said: “A thorough review of existing research suggesting a potential link between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and an increased risk of autism and attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children has not established a causal relationship.” Tylenol posted on Instagram an acknowledgment that followers “may have questions about conflicting information” in recent media coverage. “What we can tell you is: credible, independent scientific data continues to show no proven link between taking acetaminophen and autism. Medical and public organizations agree,” reads the video. “If you are pregnant right now and considering whether Tylenol is safe in pregnancy, I want you to know that the best available science does not show an association between Tylenol use in pregnancy and an increased risk of autism,” said pediatrician Edith Bracho-Sanchez in a Facebook video. Dr Monique Botha, an associate professor in social and developmental psychology at Durham University, was one of a number of international medical experts to state that they were “exceptionally confident” no relationship exists. “There are many studies which refute a link, but the most important was a Swedish study of 2.4 million births published in 2024 which used actual sibling data and found no relationship between exposure to paracetamol in utero and subsequent autism, ADHD or intellectual disability. You can easily find all these and many more, but guessing you won't and will just go with the narrative....
  17. You apparently can't read - or better said can't get your head out of your ass; Anything else Dogbone?
  18. Call it that if that if you choose. I'm good with it. The opinion probably aligns with ~90% of Western civilization.
  19. You've complained about liberal spending, don't deny that. Now you say we need to spend more than the $1.3B we commited to back in November. Why? You're certainly enough of a Trump fan with the comment 'taking advantage of the US goodwill in many different areas'. That's his line... Best I can tell from the trade we have with them, which is mostly raw materials, components and energy that a large part of their manufacturing sector runs off of the 'goodwill' is mutual. And I've said repeatedly we won't win any trade war with the US but we can most certainly afford to wait for a deal that is in the best interests of our country, which is why no deal has been done yet. Again, I have no idea what the discussions are so I certainly can't answer you asking why we shouldn't compromise. Compromise on what? And no, he isn't in my head but there is enjoyment from time to time throwing him back at you loyal cons when the liberal comes out.
  20. This appears to be your opinion? It certainly sounds logical but according to medical experts in this field, that is not the case; Cynthia Gyamfi-Bannerman, the past president of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and professor of maternal-fetal medicine at UC San Diego Health Sciences, said the concerns about autism and Tylenol have overshadowed well-established risks of untreated fevers in pregnancy. “If you don’t take Tylenol when you have a fever, especially in the first trimester, we know that can be detrimental to the fetus,” Gyamfi-Bannerman said. I'd certainly hope that pregnant woman with any common sense at all would listen to what medical experts say rather than politicians. That in itself is common sense, but we know that doesn't always prevail with some.
  21. You can easily find many other medical expert opinions on this which I'm guessing you have, but obviously will disregard because of your loyalty to Trump. Why are you saying I'm in 'full blown meltdown'? Far from it... Trump is a source of laughs and entertainment for me in trying to understand how anyone in that position can literally be that stupid. Otherwise, it's you and your country that has to live with him so enjoy that ride....
  22. Nothing the usual fools say surprises me.... EV's don't fall into the anti-climate rhetoric that Trump taught them so they're compelled to talk them down. I think the PHEV is the way to go.... obviously distances depending but if the majority of your driving is city/short distances a tank of gas will last for a month or two and if you need to go a long distance then you have the combustable engine. We'll be looking in the next year or so to replace my wife's car and a straight EV may be the choice there with her driving virtually all city/local.
  23. So the professor of maternal-fetal medicine opinion wasn't good? Fair enough... There is no need for me to attack Trump. The dumb SOB does enough daily/hourly to warrant any criticism that comes his way. In other words...he earns it. Your TDS/ Trump Deification Syndrome is puzzling, but commendable in its depth.
  24. Was up in the 100 Mile area a couple weeks ago and saw chargers all the way up the canyon. Missed going up last year but really noticed how many more there were this time. I have a plug-in hybrid so no need to charge along the way but if I had to, it would have been seamless.
  25. He's an utter embarrassment. Speaking at a UN Assembly he slags the UN, Biden, Obama, and most every other country on the planet because of their immigration laws. He talks his typical bullshit on the climate, how great the US is doing and of course, 'I've been right about everything'. A freaking embarrassment... How his minions can't see him for what he is amazes me, but that's why they're minions.
