  1. I don't know if that's true. I mean, sure left wingers did their best to gloss it over during the election, but before she replaced Biden it was a bit more acceptable to make fun of this. Or is the Daily Show a disseminator of right wing propaganda?
  2. Trump says really dumb stuff. Often when talking about stuff at rallies he gets all the facts mixed up. He is loud, petty and often childish. He also appeals to some of the cheesiest most dumbed down aspects of culture. You see how easy that is? You cannot admit that this is dumb.... Your argument is that only right wingers think that is dumb. Well, if only right wingers can come out and say that is dumb that might be part of the reason you guys lost. Full respect to myata for doing some self-examination. I mean, I am not sure you have even admitted to yourself yet that Biden is senile. You know, Ben Shapiro was running stories about how bad Biden was back in 2021. We all knew. But no one in the mainstream media, no one in the democrat party could bring themselves to say it. Not only did they try to lie to us about what was happening in front of our own eyes, they told us Biden was smarter than ever. Maybe that might be part of why you guys lost. 1.5 points right. Any little things you can think of that might have helped you get closer to those 1.5 points? Or is it everyone else's fault?
  3. Well, I would argue that her being Vice President was the least important of those two factors. You don't think they could have tossed out a VP who was unpopular in the previous primaries and gotten away with it? You don't think they could have said, "Well maybe the VP is next in line but since we are running against 'literally Hitler' we need someone better." No one would have been so offended about tossing the VP out that they would have elected "literally Hitler". And also since Kamala had to distance herself from her own administration, maybe it would have been more effective to run someone who wasn't in that administration. No, the larger factor here is they were scared to appear racist or sexist. Bill Smith. Go find a democrat named Bill Smith. Or maybe Jane Wilson. Go find any of those people, ask them to tell you what they know about Ukraine. If they give you a better answer than this, you've got your man/woman. I mean, it's your party. Are you telling me there is no one better than this? If you want to talk about dumb stuff Trump has said and done, I can provide tons of examples myself. I admit I was cheerleading him pretty heavily, but I have started to question myself more about that lately. But even back when I was cheerleading, I would have admitted Trump says and does dumb stuff. You will never do it about Kamala. If Trump is an ignoramus, why couldn't Kamala beat him? If Harris came within 1.5 points of Trump imagine what Bill Smith, Jane Wilson or anyone with at least 10 more IQ point than Kamala might have done. And if Trump is literally Hitler, why couldn't they chuck out a VP as easily as they did the President himself in order to save democracy? I mean is there anything, anything at all robosmith, that you can think of? It doesn't have to be about Kamala herself. Just anything. Any sort of criticism you are willing to make toward the Democrat party after a loss? Is there something they could have done better? Or is it just the fault of Americans and everyone one else that they lost?
  4. One thing they do deserve credit for is at least they have been more calculating about how they do it than left wing media south of the border. It's still quite obvious, but it's less sensational than how MSNBC would try to smear Republicans. Some people might say it was Trump himself that trolled them into behaving that way, but it was going on back when Romney and Ryan were gonna throw grandma off a cliff. The CBC is at least is more subtle. Rather than non-stop sensational claims, they will run stories that are more suggestive of nefarious things. They might suggest Pierre is connected to Diagolon because he shook someone's hand. Or suggest that he is taking a page out of Trump's playbook. It's often speculative. No real evidence to accuse him of anything, but also they don't make outright accusations. They just do enough to build the association in your mind.
  5. One of the narratives I see from the CBC lately (and others) that I find kind of comical is this one about how Pierre Poilievre is pivoting on his message. It's very ironic, because even though Pierre has to change campaign tactics somewhat, it's quite literally the Liberals who are doing the full 180s on policies themselves. Why is it a news story that Pierre Poilievre might have to change messaging from this simply being a carbon tax election when it is the Liberals who have actually changed (or are pretending to change) their position on it?
  6. But that culture itself is one the Democrats helped create. At some point you have to acknowledge that. Politicians on the left would be quick to accuse other politicians of racism for not choosing a black person or a woman no matter the reason. They did this not because they believed it was true but to score points. And it worked. Until it stopped working. And now it's come back to bite them. I mean you are basically admitting it here. myata said it was imperative for this election that Democrats put forward the best possible candidate. And you don't respond by arguing why she was the best possible candidate. You say but she was a "woman" of "color". How would that look? You yourself have basically just made the case that Kamala was the DEI candidate. And that is why people oppose DEI, because once you send out the message that things like color and gender ought to take precedence over merit, and to call people who think that is wrong racists, then you've handcuffed yourself. That's what DEI creates. If there was a better candidate for an election you consider so important, you could not possibly choose one. The democrats would call anyone else racist for doing so. Therefore..... Just about anyone who didn't say stuff like this.....
  7. Habs fan, but I would love to see the Jets win a cup.
  8. That sounds like a really cool idea, herbie. I have never heard of anything like that around here. But I would love to learn woodworking and stuff like that. I don't know if it's just me, but one thing I've noticed in the last several years is that people of all skillsets have become more understanding and patient with people who have no knowledge of the things they are into. Like I can remember being a kid helping my uncle with something, and he might say something like "Go grab me that twaggle ratchet." And when I didn't respond immediately he might say "What's wrong with you, don't know what a twaggle ratchet is?" It really just turns you off from ever learning to use a twaggle ratchet.
  9. Once again, it is a discussion board, when you post a negative opinion of something and engage in debate over it what are you demanding? What response are you looking for? If you can come up with an answer to that question for yourself, then you have no need to ask me.
  10. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/02/27/ag-bondi-tells-fbi-director-patel-rogue-new-york-fbi-office-withholding-epstein-files/
  11. Well, this is a discussion board. I am sure at some point you have expressed a negative opinion on something. So, I mean people could just respond this way over everything and say, "Are you going to protest in the streets over this or something?" Back to the topic at hand, I mean it could just be another example of Trump joking. But at what point do you stop shrugging things off and start considering the possibility that maybe the guy has gotten a little too cocky since the election. Talking about annexing countries, and posting stuff like this. At the very least isn't it prudent to be critical of the non-stop joking? It gets old. I liked this about Trump, myself, but I mean there is a point where you stop encouraging someone who is clowning around. It's not just that people can't take a joke, it's that you have ceased to be funny. How much shrugging off do you do before you become exactly like the democrats? They dug their heels in, ignored that their leader was senile, and they refused to coach their own team. No self-criticism. Just cheer-leading. And that's the danger you have to consider here. People are so fed up with the Democrats and rightly so, that they are now ready to defend anything or shrug off anything Trump does. I completely understand the temptation to be this way, but it's not going to serve you well. Imagine for instance if Obama was the one who posted a video with a golden statue of himself. Yeah, I am sure all the talking-heads on CNN and a lot of Democrats would think it was great or find reasons to dismiss it. But don't you think people on our side of the spectrum would be freaking out?
  12. Is that a good defense though? The guy is the leader of the most powerful country in the world. Maybe he should be expected to think about things like this? I am not condemning him, but this sort of thing should not be shrugged off. He is not above approach.
  13. Perhaps not. But he ought to be called out on it, and by his own.
  14. I have to ask you though. Don't you think that it is wrong to share a video like this? I realize Trump did not create it. But still. I remember your John Rich post. Maybe Trump is just joking, but doesn't even the idea of joking about putting up a golden idol on that land seem reminiscent of something? If it is merely a troll, it is still wrong. Trump is not above reproach.
  15. On his profile it says he is suspended. Is that the same as being banned?
  16. You are right about this. But what is it if USA owns and controls it?
  17. I am not talking about Hamas. I don't believe in a two state solution. That is the Promised Land. You don't joke about putting up a gold statue of yourself on it and bearded belly dancers. It is sacrilege to God.
  18. I have to agree with Radiorum on this one. Trump may have shared this. It may be trolling. But to me this is disgusting even as a joke. To even joke about making a gold statue of yourself in the promised land is sacrilege.
  19. Well, some conservatives are strong Trump supporters. And a minority of them as your link points out. But if you noticed that conservatives on this forum are Trump supporters, you've probably noticed who we support for prime minister.
  20. That would have been me who said that. I didn't say that was why he was banned. I have no idea what happened here. I used it as an example of the type of thing he would do regularly and said it really doesn't surprise me that Black Dog got himself banned. The guy actually suggested that another poster was attracted to his own children. He did this on multiple occasions and he would get quite lewd about it. It's not just the accusation itself. It's also the fact that he is being vulgar like that while talking about someone else's children. Were you blind to all of this? Perspektiv. I can't say for sure, because I don't actually talk to people here outside of forum posts, but I think he left of his own accord.
  21. Because he lied about it, so obviously Carney thinks it matters. And the topic of the thread is not Carney himself but the way CBC chose to cover the story. If Pierre was caught in a lie like that the CBC would not begin with a puff piece about him and then say he "downplayed his role" or use some other euphemism to sugarcoat the fact that he lied.
  22. Oh c'mon now. They knew where it was. Are you seriously suggesting they have no knowledge of Ukraine? Take Kamala for instance. I'd love to see someone on the right do a better job of describing Ukraine. She's bang on here. Ukraine is a country in Europe. It does exist. It's not just a figment of our imaginations. Furthermore it does this existing next to another country called Russia. That country is indeed bigger than Ukraine, in fact it's like the biggest country out there. I challenge you to find me one that's bigger. Aren't they pretty powerful? They do have nukes and hypersonic missiles that go really really fast. Russia did decide to invade Ukraine. And since Russia is a bigger country, it stands to reason that Ukraine is smaller. Therefore Russia did invade a smaller country.
