Amd high status peers are more often than not people who have been successful financially, and being successful financially typically requires conforming to the state ideology.

You obtained a world view from school/media/high status peers and then you accept whatever info, true or false, which confirm that view and reject all ibfo that contradict it. That is how 99% of humans construct their epistemology. And that is why media and education basically control public opinion. No different from advertising.
