I do not feel that I am better than (what I deem to be) a fictional being. It is a simple matter of making my way through life and doing so in a way that helps my family. It is hard to wrap my mind around the idea that I should bend to the will of something that does not exist and have church officials have any sway over my decisions at all. I do just fine as is. I rose out of poverty with zero assistance from God, church, or anything. It was a struggle for sure but I made it work.. how could I have done with this with zero religious intervention? Easily.

Are the Democrats an Actual Cult?

without diving into it, that seems ever so wasteful. Just another layer of bureaucracy. Having someone(s) that proves that you got the vax is a waste of time and money. -
Show me something where someone forces you to celebrate this?

As a person, I must not be trusting enough. For myself to buy into something.. I need proof, evidence.. not just empty words. I admit to not having studied the Bible to any degree. What little i have read did not meet my threshold. In its absence, I have had a fine, fulfilling existence. I live 250 feet from a methodist church. Am I unpleasant to them? Not in the least. Why? Because they leave me alone. No pamphlets, no brochures, no one knocking at the door. To me, that is a sign of respect. Hence, when I encounter someone from there, I am quite pleasant. If someone was to vandalize their property and I saw it.. I would not stand by. Why? Not because I am religious. There must be a reason. Oh.. they are law abiding citizens who mind their own business and so do not deserve to have their property defaced. I would do the same even if the building was not religious.

Are the Democrats an Actual Cult?

I work with UI (Unemployment Insurance) data every day and so have an insiders perspective on it.. at least in the US. When Covid came around and states started shutting down, UI laws got relaxed. Typically, you have to prove that you are looking for work and will accept any offered job. In NV (and others), that was put to rest for between 2 to 6 months. The reason for this was that the claims were not being filed due to someone being fired and the likelihood that they would be able to find work in the meantime was very unlikely. Second, there was a federal bonus of $300 per week that could be added to someone's benefits. Most states opted out by June 2021 with NV being the last to opt out in Sept 2021. There were no conditions on this.. one's vax status and one's UI Claims were 100% separate. Hard to believe for some but facts are facts. So any conspiracy theories about UI policy and vaccinations being connected is simply asinine. Private employers could mandate that their employees get vaxxed but there were very few that did. Primarily because with such lucrative UI benefits, they would quit and not come back. This left them very short staffed with very little chance of finding another. Public sector employees did not face a black/white mandate. the mandate was get vaxxed or have to get tested every friday at 2 pm. -
But the bible which is nothing but words is absolute, reproducible proof because you say it is.. Second, words on their own with no physical manifestation/evidence are mostly hollow and meaningless. For example, I can read about economic theory but also can witness it in action.. law of demand, price elasticity of demand, etc.

Trump is a cult leader of the GOP

as with democrats, I would not say that the GOP or republicans are a cult. Originally from idaho.. a very conservative state, and even then there was considerable variance in their views. -

this is how you show your irrationality . Explaining why the sky is blue is not the same as having something against the color blue... you know this but that does not fit your MO on here. "Why did someone lose their job for telling the truth, io? How wrong is that?"... Your complete ignorance of nuance and context is both sad and amusing. I work for a government. Guess what? Different rules for different jobs. I am not allowed to voice political opinions through the state government medium. Meaning that if I was giving a presentation in front of the legislature... I can't stop in the middle and start opining about covid or whatever. -
At age 14.. a person does not have complete control over themselves. Therefore they can't responsible for all aspects of their life if they do not control it. Age 18... they have control. life threatening comes into it because if it is not absolutely necessary then arguing that it can't be delayed is a bit silly. I have stated numerous times that this issue ranks about 856th or so on my priority list. however, folks can't and will not stop talking about it. Only time that I see trans stuff is on here. I was just at Disneyland last weekend and guess what? I saw nothing about this topic.

Are the Democrats an Actual Cult?
impartialobserver replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
in any issue like this... both sides are going to have a loud, hyperbolic minority that takes it way too far. That is human nature. The truth is always in the middle and not one of exaggerated costs and/or benefits. As for myself, i got the vaccine to avoid having to do testing and paperwork. As to its health risks or benefits... could not honestly care less. So by reading that.. a certain someone will automatically construe that I am pro-vax. -

I know that you can't see the difference between the two scenarios.. so I will lay it out for others who can be objective and rational. The job losses were an employment situation. Now... lets repeat that word, "employment". Now did this happen in all occupations and professions? No.. not even close. If this was a true cult situation, it would not matter what job you had or where you live. The consequences for not following a directive would be swift and ALL would be subject to it. Cancellation... I hate to tell you but there is nothing new about folks saying unpopular things and being ostracized by some or all of society. Democrats do not own a monopoly on this. The concept predates the modern liberal by a few thousand years. "within allowed parameters".. can you quantify this? Lets see a scale or some numerical data behind this. as for liberals who agree with you? Come on, you must be messing with me. You can't possibly be serious. https://www.politico.com/newsletters/west-wing-playbook/2021/12/07/dems-begin-souring-on-vaccine-mandates-495358 -

So by the fact that you skirted right around it... there are no tangible consequences for disagreeing. Second, if we are both being rational.. both would admit that there is no way to prove the amount of variance. Neither of us has access to some mythical database that codes each individuals viewpoints and so gives us a way to quantify it. From my experiences with leftists for 20 + years.. they do not perfectly align on all topics. You should be a politician. It is clear that you have no experience with true data analysis. You sure can ramble on and tell me people how they are stupid, worthless, etc. but I have yet to see even the slightest hint that you could perform a true objective analysis and not let your bias make it worthless. -
If I was a trans person... this issue is not going to fade with age. So waiting until I am age 18, 19 or later is not going to change anything. In fact, it might harden my resolve. I would like to think that I could pay for any and all products and services that I need. Yes, its expensive... hence why you plan ahead and save. I must be too private of an individual because i would not want to parade this around and play victim. Demanding that someone else pay for my non-life threatening medical stuff is just wrong.

This is nothing but an opinion. You can't possibly prove that 100% (not 99%) of leftists agree on something. Just because you utter this ^^^ does not make it valid. "Once the ridiculous stance has been posted, conformation is mandatory."... what are the consequences. Lets see some hard evidence that proves this. One or two examples is not even close to being sufficient. I challenge you to show that there are absolute, predictable, tangible (loss of money, jail time, physical abuse) consequences for not following this nebulous stance to the tee. as for what they disagree on? Plenty. Death penalty (to have it or not), what to teach in schools, how to allocate funding to schools, criminalizing of drugs, vax mandates, etc. Just because you are too biased to pick up on nuance.. does not mean that everyone's view are EXACTLY the same. This is akin to the old crooner who claims that all new music sounds the same. -
More Tales from a Red State Shithole

Ok, I stand corrected. The OP that i am referring to is R10. He is not the OP. Went to a beer festival in Southern California once. You would have thought that the bathrooms were out of commission. It was both comical and sad that grown adults could not figure out that they were urinating next to the porta potty. -

The OP has a long track record of starting threads that center on when blacks or hispanics commit crimes or do less than civilized acts that occur across the demographic spectrum. Yes, people are stupid. They are equally stupid in San Francisco and Gabbs, NV. You do not magically get smarter because you move from Seattle, WA to McCammon, Idaho. Big cities rightfully so get a bad reputation for drugs. However, go to isolated small town America and open your eyes.. lots of meth, opioids, and the derivatives of those. I have never seen meth out in the open as much as I did in Kellogg, Idaho.
