Mass absences break out at London schools as Pride flag flies
CdnFox replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well not in 1970 it hand't been - we only got gay marriage in 2005 But i was in school in the 70's as well and for sure there was not only acceptance of gays but a very strong general principle of 'accept everyone' taught that basically suggested that everyone's got differences - find what you have in common and learn about the differences and we'll all be better off. You wouldn't call it 'colorblind' or 'genderblind' or anything - just more like 'ok - so you've got this thing about you that's different than me and that's cool, i'd like to learn how it affects your life but we can both agree that we should order a pizza and watch this movie right? -
And he often is. Mulroney was better than the previous trudeau, harper was a billion light years better than paul martin (a used teabag was better than martin) and it's quite possible PP will be better than justin. Our problem isn't that we hope that the other guy is better - our problem is that we shouldn't be picking the worse guys in the first place.

Harper tightened bail laws. Justin relaxed them But sure- lie to yourself if it's easier than facing the truth. It's kind of your thing as a liberal. -
Blah blah blah i hate trump blah blah blah. my conclusions are what the fbi arrived at, what the commission arrived at and what every sane person arrived at. There's no collusion, no conspiracy and nothing wrong done by trump. And the FBI ran a highly inappropriate and unprofessional and at times illegal investigation to DESPERATELY hang something on him and couldn't Here's a clue kid - if you can't tell what the russians used the data for - then they probably didn't use it for anything. It's as simple as that. If they did there'd be evidence, somethnig would have happened in concert with something else or they'd have done soemthing different than they'd been doing or something - but nope nothing. Your entire argument is that the information provided MUST have been used illegally or improperly or even at all. And there's no evidence of it, and in fact evidence that they didn't. You just can't give up 4 years of desperately believing that he was guilty of 'collusion' because cnn told you it was true and you wanted to believe it so bad you could taste it. Find something else to hate him for, god knows there's options. But stop lying about this. You're just making trump look sane.

It was noted that it was the muslims organizing it. Are you saying that all muslims are redneck arseholes? You're islamaphobic? -
Go ask them if they want to be a seperate nation with no money from canada. Enjoy your swim back. Well a racist bigot would certainly say so.
-
Nope. Who has a say or ownership or interest in the land and it's use is open for discussion. Creating local gov'ts is open for discussion. But not a single native anywhere actualy wants soverignty. They'd have to come up with their own money, etc. They seem to recognize the cheques just fine Sorry - first nations are canadian and they don't get to be their own nation and they don't WANT to be their own nation. Imagine if they had NO say in the lands around them, got NO benefit cheques or access to any infrastructure or the like. They'd be dead in no time. The courts have been clear. NEITHER side is going away. first nations can't divorce themselves from canada and they'd starve if they did. In the meantime - i see both the pipelines that the provincial gov't allowed are proceeding and just about to finish. What were you saying about first nations being soverign?

Of course it does. The state is going to be a reflection of people's attitudes. Politics is always downstream from culture. And lefty people don't demonize for 'intolerance' - the people on the left demonize for non-assimilation. There wouldn't be a problem if both sides agreed to disagree but to let each other have their lives. But - that's not enough for the left. They demand you accept their ideology or the culture war is on. Then there can be no peace. When people get fed up and want to see "pushback" politicians will necessarily pick up on that and run with it. -

Inclusion is being done in a very exclusionary fashion these days. And that won't lead to inclusion at all. -

And he passed laws to reduce that. Including ones like the consecuitve sentance law which the libs have now let the courts erase with narry a whimper. Very new. Not quite unprecedented but pretty close. ( that word gets brutally overused) Historically a criminal has to prove he deserves bail before they let him out. So if he can't give the court reason to believe he'll be safe then he doesn't get it. Now the court has to prove he won't be safe or they must release him. That is VERY much against precedence in such matters. Trudeau passed a specific law specifically to make sure more violent criminals were released on bail. As a direct result, more violent people have been released on bail. And predictably they are committing more violent crimes once they are released. Sorry - can't play the 'well they did it too' game here, this is new and it's dramatic. -

CdnFox replied to reason10's topic in State Politics in the United States
DeSantis's demonization is a direct result and response to the left's demonization of people in the first place. When you start a culture war, shots get fired from both sides. The left should have heeded your advice in the first place but once they go down the path then the reaction that we see with desantis is inevitable and unfortunately necessary if they want to stop being demonized. -
Border crossings for some but not for others.

There can be no doubt that white populations will decline in the foreseeable future. Right now canada's native born population is not replacing itself in general, never mind just whites. Without immigration we'd be in decline, and most european countries are in the same boat. And that's directly tied to GDP. Check out the chart below - it's a ratio of fertility rates (children per woman) vs GDP. In order to produce more GDP you need more women in the workplace - and that means fewer kids. The most successful countries by gdp tend to be white. You need at least 2 kids per women just to maintain a population and because not all will survive that actually isn't even enough. Somewhere between 2 and 3 is needed and that's without growth. And you'll notice that all the countries that have birth rates much above 2 are all poorer non white nations. https://ourworldindata.org/fertility-rate (click on interactive charts) -

Well the main problem with being an illiterate barbarian horde is the record keeping is frankly atrocious But as a percentage of the population of the world i think they did more damage. The population was something like 1.7 billion people around world war 2 - the population during the mongols was more like 250 million world wide. And there's little doubt they killed millions. And that's really not happening anywhere. Below replacement birth rates are pretty much universal in every "white" country, and many countries are struggling to get their native populations to have more children. I doubt it'll happen - the way things have played out you now need to have two incomes to get ahead in life. You can't afford to be taking one of the earners off the line for a few years at a time very often. People are having one or two kids max and that's it, and even with a good survival rate that's just not going to keep us growing. -
https://lfpress.com/news/local-news/another-mass-absence-breaks-out-at-london-school-as-pride-flag-flies Mass absences break out at London schools as Pride flag flies This time, though, apparent backlash at some other schools, as well. More than 400 pupils at one of London’s largest elementary schools – about one-third of the entire headcount – stayed home Wednesday, on a day when the rainbow flag flew across the school district as the area public board saluted International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. Just three months ago, a similar mass absence broke out at Eagle Heights elementary school as it marked Rainbow Day, a designated day to celebrate diversity and inclusion. That left the Thames Valley District school board looking into the unusually high number of students who did not go to class, an issue the board’s education director, Mark Fisher, later called a “miscommunication.” Unusually high absence levels were also reported at some other elementary schools in the city Wednesday, Sources have suggested many Muslim families at the school, on Oxford Street near the city’s largest mosque, deliberately chose to keep their kids home to avoid Rainbow Day. So there's some evidence of this spreading in Ontario and it soon may be in provinces across canada. This appears to be pushback against the whole identity politics and culture wars mess again. The constant in your face left wing "woke" agenda has left people fed up. And now even simple events like this are getting push back. And then there's also the fact people are pissed in general. With all the division being pushed in Canada by the feds - i fear this gets worse before it gets better.

CLEARLY you haven't met my father -
Hardly. He's bragging and showing he's going to be a valuable player being close to a president. They had been talking for years before this, they had 'other business' to discuss - why not keep your buddy up to date and brag a little. The amount of data shared was minimal. Again - show me where this data was used. Show me where there was some sort of indication of coordinated efforts or timing or the like. Nobody else could find it maybe you can. Of course it does. Other wise it's just giving. Working with this data? how? point to where he used this data to do something he wouldn't have done anyway. Show me where it was used. If it was valuable in the fight to help trump win then there must be evidence of that. The steele dossier was used to attack trump - we know exactly how and where and why. So - where's this coordinated effort between the russians and trump? Doesn't exist. Guess why.

CdnFox replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Not really accurate. When hitler came to power there was insane runaway inflation (the old stories about a wheelbarrow full of Deutschmarks for a loaf of bread), severe employment problems and other economic woes. It was the 'dirty thirties' and the whole world was in the great deperssion. Unemployment was rampant and things were bad. He stabilized their dollar, and did a fair bit to get their economy moving again. People could get work and incomes went up considerably as more work was available. He sold off some state assets. And the labourers were far from slaves. It was one of the reasons he was so popular. Militarization was without a doubt a big hunk of the eocnomy and after war broke out obviously that became a main economic factor. Having said that without a doubt the economic policy was highly questionable. He ran the gov't on deficit financing. He was extremely socialist -what we would call a democratic socialist today with strong central planning and control within a capitalist model. Like i said - if it wasn't for the war and genocide and such he probably would be hailed as a strong example of democratic socialism. It would have been very interesting to see what the economy looked like if he'd skipped all that and just focused on country building. I think it still would have gone sideways in the end but it would have been interesting to see. BTW - strong central involvement in industry (especially energy), massive deficit spending, lots of unnecessary spending on a separate objective (war/climate change) massive increase in the public service.... This guy remind you of anyone we know? -

But it did. He was very much a socialist in many of his policies. In fact as i noted if he hadn't gone comletely bat crap crazy and invaded everyone and slaugtered jews he'd be held up today as 'proof socialism works' by modern social democrats. They can't help it if everyone happens to vote exactly the same way -
Well this is what the dictionary says an 'analogy' is - "A comparison based on such similarity." Soooo - providing weapons of war to a country defending itself from an invasion is pretty much the same as providing a poll to someone. Yeap. Maybe you should be looking for someone "cleverer" than you. So grave they charged him for it!!!! Oh.. wait. In any case they didn't find it was collusion or the like. First off sure it is. They can share their campaign strategy and internal polling with anyone they like Second off for it to be 'sharing' something would have to be given back - and there wasn't. This was a guy who was bragging about his boss winning. Or he knew it was bullshit - like everyone else does now after this report. Why would he, The guy 'shared' that trump was going to win and some polling data to prove it. Not much of a betrayal. Now - if he'd told the russians HILLARY was going to win.... Sure. the guy was unfairly targeted by the FBI. Trump hates the FBI. This is his way of stabbing them in the eye. That's very trump. Since Clinton.
