Dude shut up! They're going to take that as an excuse to fund a research grant to find out And this is what causes people to doubt. It's SUCH a crisis! Yet... not only was the carbon tax the 'big solution' the libs proposed even tho it had no chance of meeting even the paris accords, but to add insult to injury they didn't even HAVE any estimates of how much it would reduce emissions and didn't put in place any methods to track it at all! It's their flagship climate policy and they didn't even care enough to make sure there'd be any way to see if it was doing something. That's how 'Much' they cared. And you were a 'denier' if you questioned that. it's all been a horrible joke. Clearly they don't believe it's a "Crisis"

Who said anyone said it was? I just said it wasn't. Then again making up stuff that people didn't say is kind of your thing You're the one buddy in the waters. I'm the one that said it isn't deep

It is none of those things. It seems that way to you because you have a 0% understanding of both politics, human nature, conservatives, or in fact even what you're talking about. I have explained all of this to you before, it's common knowledge, your whole little destination versus journey versus wrecking ball thing is a childish way of looking at what shouldn't be a complicated issue. Conservatives of principles and values from which policy is derived regarding any specific subject, and it tends to be consistent. There is no journey, there is no destination, there is no pendulum, leave the application of logic and reason in any given circumstance. I guess that's why you struggle to understand it.

Wow, you should run for liberal leader The liberals have been falsely inflating the GDP numbers through excessive immigration. Once that's curtailed and the economy grows which it will with that loser gone We will be able to afford it without massive deficits. I know, it really hurts your feelings to realize that your brand of woke politics has failed utterly and simply stopping it and doing something different will be enough to radically improve the situation. On top of that Poilievre is actually pretty competent so the Improvement should be relatively significant That's what happens. You vote woke you go broke, you vote for the right and relief is in sight

That is the literal definition of trying to change the channel. Instead of addressing the issues you wanted to talk about a typo. A typo you very clearly knew was a typo. You're dishonesty is becoming of epic proportion. Have you considered running for the liberal party as leader?
-
It's neither. You just think that sounds clever so you frequently repeat it but it's absolutely childish Awww little @Politics1990 was so butt hurt by the truth that he had to give me a little down arrow to make himself feel better LOLOL!! ever notice how if you actually answer a question with an honest reasonable reply the left freaks out? It's like they find truth and honesty personally offensive or something

Canadian dollar jumps on Trudeau and tariff reports
CdnFox replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Agreed, it's not much of a change yet but it is a very positive sign. At the very least maybe we can hope that it'll stop the slide and our dollar will hold here until we can have a chance to finish the election -
This is my biggest issue. Global warming is supposed to be this Unstoppable disaster that can only be fended off with our carbon taxes and yet the governments for the most part have done nothing whatsoever to try and adapt and mitigate. This is despite the fact that every single person knows that there is nothing we can do to reduce emissions in Canada that is going to substantially impact global warming. We are just too small In fairness the DC government in the last couple of years has taken significant steps to help adapt by increasing the forest firefighting budget and launching programs to make sure that the elderly and lower income people have reasonable access to air conditioning in the case of another extreme heat event that killed so many a few years ago. So kudos to them for taking appropriate action, but the federal government has done nothing and most other governments have done nothing and even what the NDP here in British Columbia has done is just a drop in the bucket. So much for it being a crisis

Its Official - trudeau is gone and the race is on!

All good points but even she has to see the writing on the wall here. -
Trump says down with windmills. I agree. They are ugly.

That's not possible! I paid my carbon tax! In unrelated news, 10,000 epileptics went into seizures unexpectedly in canada .... -
"We should legalize dope" they said. "What harm could it do?" Sigh. Go to bed herbie, you're stoned.

It has been acknowledged for ages that for most of our history our conservative governments are far to the left of american conservative governments and closer to many of the democratic options in a variety of policies. If you are just hearing that for the first time now then thank you for showing up and congratulations on passing High School There are a number of reasons. With the 2 Trudeau's aside canadian liberals and conservatives tend to be far more fiscally responsible than democrats. So the dems don't look so attractive. Further the democrats tend to repress rights that people on the center and right of the spectrum consider important (such as firearms rights and freedom of speech etc) and especially in the last 20 years the left and dems in the states have been promoting the hell out of the culture wars and intersectional coalitions and blm riots and palastinian terrorists, and increasingly so as they went along, and none of that sits well with Conservatives. It's gotten even worse with the latest corruptions, the lawfare and the hiding the fact the president was mentally toast, etc. Frankly i would have found all of that disgusting if the republicans had done it. Sadly that door is open now so not much you can do, i'm sure there'll be 'retaliation'. The left in the states is all anti business, tax the rich, big gov't, lots of spending, repression of free speech and so on. Even tho many conservatives would agree or at least be ok with many "left wing" democrat policies such as universal access to health care, basic social safety net systems, more money for education etc they can't stomach the rest. Some of the dem policies like access to health care, access to birth control are fine for conservatives in general by and large but then you get abortion up to the moment the baby enters the birth canal and franly even a lot of liberals in canada can't stomach that. However the far woke left democrats are probably on the wane now. There will probably be a return to the more centrist sort of liberal democrat in the states after they got their clocks cleaned. and if canada was part of the states and forced to choose between dems and republicans, thanks to the college system it would deliver about 52 seats to the democrats 8 out of 10 times at least for the foreseeable future. Why would trump want that? He KNOWS we elected trudeau for 10 years, we're capable of going that far left

Its Official - trudeau is gone and the race is on!
CdnFox replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The thing is a day is about all she would get. Almost immediately after winning the leadership she would face an election with no time to spare. An election she will lose badly. And given the liberals track record we will not give her a chance to fight again but rather we'll go to a full length leadership race and she'll get kicked to the curb. Not saying she doesn't deserve that, but she would be absolutely insane to run right now. I know they keep saying she's considering running but honestly how could you not have enough intelligence to see what's going to happen? She would be so much better sitting this one out and letting someone else get clobbered by poilievre and then jump into the race that follows where she'd have four years to set herself apart from Trudeau and organize for a real election -
I'm incredibly dishonest of you. It's not a defense. Nobody said it was a good thing or that is something he should be doing. It's just an observation But as usual you fire off a cheap shot and run away with your tail between your legs rather than add anything useful for the conversation The world would be a better place. Unlike you I live firmly grounded in reality. As far as imagining someone like trump we don't have to. He did that for four years. So basically you have nothing intelligent to that either, so you'd make some sort of nebulous weird comment about a satchel that I'll never have my hands on and that the person we're discussing already has. Shirley to god the woke left has at least one intelligent person somewhere in their ranks. Find them and bring them here, I'm sick of talking to children

LOLOL it's not worse or better. This is trump. It's how he negotiates. It's like trying to analyze how serious a kid throwing a tantrum is, he does it for the theatre and to throw people off balance. You ignore it, and then you go at his concerns and negotiate like a parent would with a child. Of course, you're so blinded by your hatred and bigotry you don't know who to be mad at or what's going on. Leave this stuff to the pros, you go back to playing with your barbie and ez bake oven (yes i'm that old.)

Breaking News: Trudeau expected to resign Monday.

So we're getting beaten badly by the likes of singapore and indonesia?!? Honestly this guy can't go fast enough. -
Its Official - trudeau is gone and the race is on!
CdnFox replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Honestly I think that would have been the best thing for everybody. Take everyone by surprise, call an instant election and go as hard as possible rewriting history about your achievements and rekindling some of that charm and fire and take your lumps. He still wouldn't have won but they might have been able to save some of the furniture Obviously they avoided that because they knew they would take a beating and are trying somehow to hold on to the belief that maybe some white knight might appear that can solve all of their problems and sweep them back into power. The fact is it might very well go the other way and whoever takes over might very well Kim Campbell the party. But I think they believe if they can find someone who can talk like Poilievre and convince everybody that the last 10 years was just a bad dream and that the liberals will be very different moving forward that at the very least maybe they could win enough seats not to completely collapse. But that may yet blow up in their face -
You feel trump is desperate to add about 52 College votes for the democrats to the US. Honestly kid, we knew you were stupid but even I didn't realize you were sub trump stupid. He's trolling

Are Nfld and Quebec Sustainable?
CdnFox replied to August1991's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Saskatchewan Is entirely sustainable, it's a have province. And the territories are just cool to own, they're not supposed to be sustainable. So what you're REALLY saying is western canada should separate. Well.... you're not wrong...
