Truth be told i think you're vastly in the minority. Without a doubt people are proud of their own works but most people are also proud of the achievements they achieve collectively. And it's extremely unusual for it to be one sided as you describe. Didn't you play sports as a kid? When your team won weren't you proud of that even though YOU didn't win all on your own? You didn't score all the goals and stop all the shots etc. You can be proud you won and also be proud of that one goal you scored, the two aren't incompatible, but most people experience both. The fact you find that to be a foreign concept is the anomaly here, not my feeling it. I'm proud of what our ancestors did and built across europe and i'm proud of their accomplishments and advancements that lead up to the discovery of and foudning of our nation and i'm proud of what everybody came together over the last few centuries and built that's given us our country today (yes, even the chinese) And most people DO take pride in the collective efforts of their kith AND kin. People who don't have ties to their past and only see their efforts in isolation tend to be 'untethered' emotionally, understanding the heritage is important. Some are critically injured. Most of the shootings happen at a high school but not all of them. There's no word as to whether or not the shooter was a teacher or a student Pretty freaking horrible. I'm proud of the efforts of every person and culture a contributed and eventually became part of what Canada is today. And that goes back thousands of years. One way or another a whole bunch of people did a whole bunch of them amazing things and eventually built up cultures and technology that allowed them to come here and create this country. Then even more people moved here and helps build this country. Obviously having pride in your country is something you feel is weird. No shock

As I said, the left takes no pride in our history or the accomplishments of any of our forefathers. They would rather see that history erased. They would refer to anybody who was proud of their European past as being Colonial and anybody who is proud of their canadian history is being racist. Everything you are and everything you have is the culmination of the people that came before you plus whatever you put on top. Canada was founded and built by European nations including France germany and Britain and the number of other countries. Looking at their accomplishments and their roles in what would eventually become Canada combined with our own contributions is something that normal people would take some pride in. The fact that you take no pride in it indicates either that you're so egotistical that you think that nothing anybody did in the past contributed to who you are today or you think Canada is not something to be proud of. Given many of your comments I suspect the latter. This really wasn't complicated. Most people understand that they Built what they have today on the top of the efforts of people that came before them but apparently you consider those people to be worthless and not worthy of your pride. The interest rates are not skyrocketing, interest in and investment in America is still very strong, etc etc etc It's not a golden fleece. But it lets them get away with more than we would be able to get away with without having a crash But both of us are beginning to tear on the edge. We have more debt than we can handle, and not even this Bare Bones of a plan to get back to break even the US is kind of starting to get into the same boat

What really concerns me is carney is in the middle of trying to pass a bill that will make it lawful for him to grant anyone he wants permission to break any non-criminal law I'm not even kidding that's exactly what it says. So he can allow bribery or he can allow conflict of interest or he can allow anything that currently would be unlawful now but he can pardon it I'm sure that won't be misused
