California is very different because the assessed value can barely increase at all while you live in your home. There are homes assessed at their 1980 sale price. But Mar-a-Lago is not a private home and it cannot be sold or used as a private home. That’s why it’s worth so little.

You realize that Trump declared bankruptcy to avoid paying off loans. That’s the whole point of bankruptcy; you don’t have to repay debts in full. It’s a well-documented fact that Trump defaulted on $40 million in loans to Deutsch Bank. You say he always paid off his loans. He has not.
