Court Filing: Trump Did Not Declassify Anything
Rebound replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Let me explain: Trump is a lying con man. He’s been lying to you, his loyal supporter. If it was legally defensible that he declassified the documents, why wouldn’t his own lawyers say so in their filings? This is the actual court document his own lawyers wrote, not some stupid Tweet. Here’s why: Material that’s de-classified is Public. There’s no in-between. His lawyers know perfectly well that the classified information cannot be revealed to the public. -
Here's an idea: Open that incredibly thick skull of yours to the possibility that, just because somebody decides they're an R, it means they can still break a law and they should be punished if they break a law. Steve Bannon was given a Congressional subpoena, and he decided that he was above the law and the law didn't apply to him. Well, now he's a convicted criminal, it's as simple as that. Trump had four years to prosecute Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama or any other Democrat he wanted to, and he couldn't even issue a parking ticket to a single one of them.

You typed something, so of course it's a lie. To work for someone is to accept pay, to be in their employ. Mr. Clinesmith worked for the FBI and as far as we know, had not met with or conspired or colluded with Clinton. In other words, as usual, you're completely full of nonsense. You constantly lie because the facts do not support your ideas. You are dissociated from reality.

Trump threatened to sue the Lincoln Project over their ad. The Lincoln Project founder Rick Wilson posted a video reply on Twitter, which in part says: "You threatened to sue the Lincoln Project this morning. Go For It! Go for it, b**ch! Come at me. I can't wait. We're delighted by the thought that you would try to sue us, Donald. Do it! Do it! I double-dog dare you. You aren't going to sue anybody, Donald. You aren't going to do a damn thing. You are weak, you are impotent, you are flabby, you are sitting there in the bridal suite at Mar-a-Lago, wondering why the Lincoln Project keeps coming at you. Wanna know why? Because you are a threat to democracy, you are a threat to America. You are a thief of classified documents, you are a traitor, you tried to overthrow our government. We're here, you're not, we will keep kicking your ass every day. Go f**k yourself. So if you want to sue us, go ahead. You won't do it, because you are completely impotent. Just ask Melania. "

You go right ahead and haunt me when former White House aides to Obama or Biden show up in court wearing handcuffs. You see, I have no opposition to criminals going to prison. Only the MAGA guys do. No-one from the Obama Administration was found guilty of a crime, except for David Petraeus. Oh, and please remind me, what crime was David Petraeus convicted of?

Donald Trump's lawyers last week filed a 20 page declarative response to the matter of appointing a Special Master. In this document, the word "classified" and "classification" appear about 20 times, but nowhere do the President's lawyers claim that Trump declassified any of the documents. In fact, that claim has not been made in any legal filing yet. Why? Because it is bogus, and it cannot be upheld in court. There have already been Federal Court rulings stating that Classified information cannot be verbally declassified, without any system or process of notification. Otherwise, the relevant defense agencies would not know that the material was declassified, and they would continue to act as though, for instance, Secret Agent Man's identity is still secret, or that Secret Satellite System is still Secret, when it no longer is. Further, their claim that former Presidents have a claim of Executive Privilege is based on Executive Order 13589, claiming it gives former Presidents Executive Privilege. It only gives former Presidents Executive Privilege (which can be over-ridden by the current President) for the purpose of disclosing Presidential Records. Nothing whatsoever to do with keeping Presidential Records or Classified information at home. Also, President Biden has already stated that Trump has no Executive Privilege over his Presidential Records, so even EO13589 offers Trump no protection. In short: Trump's legal team is definitely afraid of claiming that Trump declassified any of these records, and their claim that he has Executive Privilege has no basis in reality. Looks like The Big Guy is in trouble.

Besides the fact that "Whatabout Hunter Biden's Laptop" is seemingly the only answer to ant question you're ever asked, what does it actually have to do with campaign finance? To be clear: Who is defending Hunter Biden here? If he broke any laws, he should be prosecuted. But that has absolutely nothing to do with Mr. Bannon's criminal acts, which have already resulted in felony convictions for his three co-conspirators, and would have included Bannon but for a Presidential pardon.

It makes absolutely no sense that anyone or any group can raise millions of dollars in order to promote political causes, and not be required to provide full audited accountings of how the money was spent. Democrat, Republican, whatever… they form tax-exempt organizations and those funds must be accounted for, it’s just that simple. Bannon raised money and his group stated repeatedly that 100% of all proceeds would fund construction of a wall, yet they kept a huge proportion of the money for themselves, apparently they didn’t declare it as income and they tried to hide the payments. It’s illegal to do that. And it wasn’t $5,000, it was over one million dollars. Then, Bannon decided that he didn’t need to respond to a Congressional subpoena. That the law didn’t apply to him. Now he can sit in a prison cell and ponder that. He might not like the US Congress, but the law is the law.

Load of bullshit. Her server wasn’t “regularly hacked.” People tried to hack it. No evidence they succeeded. People try to hack every server. DoD, Google, you name it. Why was it any worse that she used a private server instead of, say, Google’s? Trump’s kiddies all used unsecured phones while he was Pres. Jared did, they all did the same thing Hillary did. As soon as she was out of office, she had someone comb through all her emails and sent the government related docs to the government, in compliance with the laws. She shouldn’t have used her own iPads, but Jared and the rest of the Trump Hitler Youth squad shouldn’t have either, especially after campaigning over that very issue.

I don’t know if they’ll charge him or not. Remember, this could all have stopped if he just turned over the documents when they asked, and it could have stopped with their seizure. It was Trump who publicized the search and it was Trump who filed for a special master. For all we know, maybe DOJ just wanted the docs quietly returned and nothing more. OTOH, mishandling classified documents usually winds up with criminal prosecution. The fact that he was a President should not make things any different. I think a good example is David Petraeus, who shared classified information with an active US military officer, and no-one else. He was still found guilty of a felony and lost his clearance.

Weird how you Trumpie Q-Types are so anti-pediphile, unless they’re Republican pedophiles. It’s always conservatives who defend pedophiles. -

Where’s the post or ‘rule’ where he called out a Republican for merely being sued? Anybody can sue anybody for any reason. -
And we should take down any statues honoring black slavers or slave orders or Confederates, or at least move them from places of honor in front of courthouses and into the corners of museums somewhere.

Big whoop, somebody filed a lawsuit. Anybody can sue anybody for anything. Let us know if she’s indicted or charged or guilty or if this stupid lawsuit even proceeds to trial (it won’t). -

America is already great. And putting a fascist in charge won’t make us greater, it will destroy us. He lost by 4 million votes, then he lost by 7 million votes and staged a riot to try to stay in power. Now he has lawyers trying to impose new rules to allow state legislatures to overturn any presidential election results they want. There is nothing good about subverting the vote. -
That’s just horrible. Of all the ways someone can make a living, how can they choose that… and then think of themselves as Christian? Unbelievable.
-
Exactly! I agree! Slavery was horrible, and these people trying to glorify Confederate generals are all wicked white supremacists.

Importation of slaves into the US ended in 1808

That’s just a lot of long-winded excuse making for the plain simple truth: The “government overreach” you speak of was slavery. It can be clearly seen by reading the resolutions the State legislatures passed in deciding to join the Confederacy. There has been 150 years of revisionist history writing trying to make the Confederacy and its leaders seem noble, and trying to make slavery seem benevolent and kind. It’s all lies. Slavery was incredibly cruel and evil and it was the sole reason why the South fought the Civil War.

Bobby Lee certainly wasn’t fighting for Native American rights.
-
He was fighting so that Virginians could own slaves. No more, no less.
-
Because Robert E Lee fought to overthrow the US Government in order to keep human beings in bondage as property.
