Why do you take antibiotics to stave off natural death when that’s what God intended for you?

I don’t disagree. They still need to have the mental capacity to make the decision. That’s probably why this is delayed. It will be tough to get it as good as possible. Thats right! There’s a choice! Now you are catching on. Choice is good, right?

We do all the time. Do you take antibiotics, or is that thwarting God’s will? Shouldn’t you die a “natural death like God intended”? The individual decides when it’s their time. No one gets to decide for them.

If that means disagree with people, then yes. Do you only like discussion with people who agree with you? That would explain your cut/paste posts. You don’t want to discuss with people who have a different view, you want to give them “information”.

I don’t think Trudeau, or the Libs, are seen as Mulroney and the Cons of the time.

I think the Cons will win a convincing majority (40% +/-2%) if Trudeau stays as leader. He has nothing new to say and what he does say is often hypocritical and pandering. A new leader? All bets are off and the Libs probably win another minority.

Why do I doubt this? I don’t read the tripe you copy/paste, but when you actually discuss a topic, I enjoy your posts and the discussion. If I wanted to learn what Christian apologists that beg for money and sell snake oil on these websites think, I would use Google. I come here to see what actual people think.

The state has the ability to raise money through taxation. And can pay off the debt over several generations. So, no…. It’s clearly not the same.

There was also a negotiated ceasefire between the 2 largest gangs in the country, which had an immediate effect. They also invested heavily into social programs to keep kids out of gangs. You seem to be creating a story that suits your agenda. Maybe post some peer reviewed studies?

So your religion changes based on…. what? And if it can change just by some bishops deciding it, how do you determine the validity of any other rituals or precepts?

Judaism rejects original sin, inherited sin and that humans are sinful by nature when they’re born. Not sure about the others you mentioned.

I’ve seen him describe himself that way. He seems to at least have an affinity for religion and holding onto societal moors of the past. But that’s something for you to argue with him about. I’m just wondering why you would assume we’re the same poster. That seemed weird.

I don’t see increased divorce rates as bad. From a humanist perspective, it’s better for women not to be in abusive relationships. Individual liberty once again trumps religious doctrine for good reason. We need to spread wealth and individual liberty across the globe (nicely) to get birth rates down further. Overpopulation is a real problem.

I’m glad you’re a lot more liberal about it than people in the past. Who says beliefs are never-changing? You’re evidence that even the staunchest conservative is a lot more liberal than his predecessors. I think that’s an important point. The staunchest Catholic conservative today is way more liberal about people’s sexual activity than they were even 100 years ago. Look at the treatment of divorced women, as an example. Even the fact that women can now get a divorce equally as a man. Catholics, and other Christians, used to advocate for gay people being arrested. Gay people would be assaulted (and still are) just because they were gay. At least Catholics no longer want gay folks arrested, and your Pope is even advocating to treat them nicer in church! Funny how straight people haven’t had to deal with being policed in their bedrooms for a lot longer than gay folks did… why do you think that was?

What practices have changed?

Did they believe anything that Catholics no longer believe? Or perform rituals in the early church that would no longer be acceptable in today’s church?
