  1. Because that's the level the constituents speak at. They use all those words every day and many that you'd consider worse.
  2. If the CPC has a climate plan, spell it out. Or at least provide a link to their site that provides more than tired rhetoric and doublespeak. That is the reason O'Toole lost. They don't have a plan at all.
  3. Because most people are so stuck on simple ideas as solutions they won't even think. Privatize, privatize... duh. We can't fix things! Throw it away.... don't matter if there's a nursing shortage, private clinics won't have to pay nurses as much. People will rush to train as nurses if we pay them even less.... besides we won't have to think anymore about the problem, only of how to pay the bill.
  4. In my last post I pointed out just how techs can make the doctors and surgeons more efficient. That doesn't lower standards or steal doctors from the Third world that needs them even more than we do. Like for example why does my amazon order get from Toronto to the boonies in northern BC in 48 hours when lab results often take more than a week to get to the clinic one block away? When both places are on the same network it shouldn't take any longer than sending a file to my home NAS!
  5. Yes they do want a Climate Plan, something more that just saying the other guy's doesn't work and claiming that's a "Plan" at all. The federal Tories better figure that out or it will be 3 in a row for JT. As I pointed out, everyone is trying to reduce their energy usage so existing measures are working. The costing us money gripe is moot. Nothing anyone even suggested isn't going to and no one's even suggested a realistic alternative.
  6. You have little to contribute to discussion. One thing for opinion to be just ill informed, another to be wilfully ignorant.
  7. It is better to remain silent and thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt.
  8. Are you driving less? Did you put more insulation in your home? Did you switch to LED lights? Then it looks like things have been working. It was the BC's party on the right that brought in the first carbon tax. Had enough brains to recognize a revenue stream when they saw one. Actual flakes love to bitch about things that don't even exist. Goes along with believing any absurd conspiracy theory over reality.
  9. Movies, tech, animation, oil & gas, construction, green energy projects etc. all say otherwise. Service jobs with the highest minimum wage and still can't get workers does too. Not so much forestry, the mill here laid off 375 workers and new owners rebuilt up to today's standards. They'll be opening soon and outproducing the old mill with only 70 workers. As for the street druggies, closing the Institutions to 'save money' and locking people up & dumping them back on the street to steal for drugs just worked so damn well for the last 80 years didn't it?
  10. If you lived here, you wouldn't want anything to do with pipelines, tankers, etc. Specially if there's no benefit for you whatsoever, only risks. MOF there's a lot of Trudeau hate in these parts for him approving just one pipeline. In the North every single Mayor, council, native band, community group was against the Enbridge line and tankers in the North. Every Tory candidate kept their mouth shut and dodged questions on it for 2 elections, that was the only way some got in. Every other home in these parts had a STOP ENBRIDGE sign on their lawn. And as for the evil communist NDP they're the ones actually building the SiteC dam and the gas pipeline. Green & green-er energy with jobs attached. What they stand for - working people. They're not even the DIet Pepsi of socialism anymore, more like the Bubly.
  11. This is getting silly. No one (here in N America) can or is going to try to force anyone to go somewhere else. This whole thing has so many fringe elements that ppl believe they're real and legitimate concepts. A woman I know married a Nigerian. He went home to visit his Mom and got stuck in the Covid thing. Now he's stuck in the queue trying to get a visa to come back. He sent her a lovely top his Mom made for her and she's worried about wearing it in public over this 'cultural appropriation' line of bullshit. Told her if that ever happened respond with: Cultural appropriation became moot the moment someone appropriated the formula for gunpowder. You've already been assimilated, resistance was futile. Now contribute it, the collective needs your uniqueness. As I've tried to point out several times your culture/race explains some of you, it does not define you.
  12. She did exactly that. She should have commented that it showed how important it was to put more civic money into mental health issues. That would've been a more 'woke' way of telling them to FOAD
  13. I think jbander1A was looking for an actual valid reason, not some generalized 'they're all crazy' BS. Like even "they're pro-choice and I'm pro-life" would be a valid though petty reason overall when it comes to electing a President.
  14. No guys, I am pointing out the FACT that Climate Change is not a policy of the left, it is now a centrist policy. If you are not from BC, don't be fooled by their name - the BC Liberal Party is not Liberal, it is conservative. After the crushing defeat of the former Social Credit Party in th early 90s all their members ran over to the Liberal party as they at least had a decent showing whearas the BC Conservative party never had more than a couple MLAs elected in modern times. Over the years they've purged anyone truly liberal and are considering changing their name now the ultra-conservatives insist 'liberal' is a derogatory word. Maybe they change it to NNDP (NOT the New Democrat Party) to truthfully reflect their free enterprise coalition roots. BC has 3 main parties the not liberal Liberals, the NDP and the Greens. So if you actually still think Climate Change is bullshit, or endorse other silly shit like climate offsets that don't do SFA to lower carbon emission or carbon capture (sweep it under the rug), or the bullshit spewed by the likes of Trump and Taylor-Greene you're nowhere near a centrist in your outlook. It's 2022 and YOU are the outlier to the norm.
  15. So obviously if you believe in the right to life, you're dead set against capital punishment, right? Lift the license of any doctor performing that, parade around prisons with signs and all that?
  16. BC Liberal leader Kevin Falcon booted MLA John Rustad from his party’s caucus this week, signalling yet again that he intends to lead the Liberals to a more centrist position. - for using social media to question the science around climate change, and refusing to remove those posts when asked by the leader. ***NOTE: to lead the Liberals to a more centrist position not 'to the left'. Climate denial is a position endorsed by the extreme right, a surefire way to lose an election. Which should be noted by ALL other Conservatives in Canada.
  17. We need a leader, we can't think for ourselves! We need a leader because we're a democracy and the politicians only do what the most people want them to do. We need a leader that tells everyone what to do. That's what we want because the majority aren't us! Is that the long and short of it? </s>
  18. Canada's "culture" is multicultural. Therefore it is. Unless you're saying stop all immigration from anywhere, in which case it would be merely stupid.
  19. OMG m-o-r-o-n is a "bad word"?
  20. Oh FFS cut the replies. Anyone who believes no one died of Covid or the deaths were all faked and from something else is a total pinhead not worth responding to. They've already caused enough damage to public health measures and the only people they'll ever convince are more mentally challenged fools. The same small group of complete liars and imbeciles has dragged every thread in this forum beyond belief with their utter nonsense.
  21. Jeez, that's kind of dumb. If anyone died on the way to the hospital, they'd end up there in the morgue. Would the bodies have been dropped off at the train station or Tim Hortons?
  22. Like I said, Trump's a businesman, he can't differentiate between what you spend and what you get. Completely forgot with the smaller military budgets we more than held our own in Afghanistan while the USA buggered off to Iraq and left other countries holding the fort.
  23. What makes you think Canada's the USAs bum boy like Belarus is to Russia. Plus the USA doesn't even think we're integral to their identity or somehow beholden to them. Damn Russian trolls anyway.
  24. Ooh the Mayor used bad words that were OK for MSM to print! BAD MSM ! Burn in heck!
  25. I admit to going over the top, but with using those words directed at someone, not the words themselves. And I'm only annoyed using them as posts like F*** Trudeau or F*** Biden as those are simplistic, mere wastes of bandwidth and contribute nothing. But banning words the Scot and Irish Uncles sue around the dinner table, heard on regularly on TV and one's I've used myself when public speaking seems over the top. Judgemental to 1960 standards by the makers of these forum programs. I'm more familiar with PhpBB that automatically replaces the words in a banned list if you click submit.
