How Electric Cars Save The Planet
herbie replied to reason10's topic in Health, Science and Technology
I disagree, but don't condemn it's use. Maybe Scott Moe should be pushing it as Sask. could have a future. Maybe we could be training nuclear scientists and engineers again instead of coders to produce more scams (and have to compete with wages in India).... -
Scott Moe Cancels Carbon Tax In Saskatchewan
herbie replied to Canadian_Cavalier's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Is Moe the Premier of Saskatchewan or doing his best to be Moe of the Three Stooges? -
Actually they don't. The banks cover that in their rate calculations. There have been no bailouts as such. And the BOC expected that with higher interest rates, fewer people could afford to buy at the absurd prices and that would cause prices to fall significantly. Entirely reasonable expectation. They failed to account for the fact people need somewhere to live and investors would still snap them up and profit from ridiculous rents for that very reason. Added on, that too many Canadians are bone stubborn and will bankrupt themselves to buy houses, cars, gas and Tbone streaks regardless of the price before sacrificing the slightest inconvenience. Just like they "need" $150 mo StarLink internet and $100 a month cell phones.

Does the NDP need a miracle? It needs two

Activists are BAD... just BAD mmmm'kay? Not like they're marching in the streets against gay rights. Muslim immigration banning books or something useful, eh? [/s] -
Should Hamas support rallies in Canada be stopped?
herbie replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
How come nobody's pointed out that Harper made a law against demonstrations this and the Liberals scrapped it just because it violated every standard in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms? It's all Trudeau's fault! -
Must you go out of your way to prove to everyone how stunned you are? Plasma is not 'hot' eh? That why you cut steel with it? The !diot opens his mouth with more intelligent discussion. As I said GOP congealing behind a fully indocrinated Bible thumper who is fully behind a conman with 90+ charges as the least objectionable candidate shows the total collapse of sanity among them. Far too many US voters are more concerned with what Church their politicians go to and who they sleep with than their policies and qualifications to hold office.

Can't make a sensible comment? Blow the dog whistles and parrot buzzwords thinking they're insults.... -

"Collateral damage" isn't a war crime, but hiding your headquarters or ammunition depot under a daycare centre or hospital definitely should be. A lot of dupes fall for the idea hiding behind your own civilians like chickenshits is fair game. -

Lurching from one side to the other hasn't done anyone any good. As to the subject: no, it doesn't need a 'miracle' as core NDP voters value the NDP forced gains the Libs had to make. Not a damn one will vote Tory knowing all will be reversed or never fully implemented. You seem to be under the silly idea that the NDP has to "win" to control the gov't when it only needs to thwart a majority. Or that the voters will totally abandon their ideals because their party leader wears a turban, is popular with ladies, wears glasses or speaks with an accent. -
Oh. I here the Feds are trying to come up with something arrangement for the 1.8% of BC residents who still use home heating oil. I wouldn't waste much effort as all those live rural and vote Tory or NDP anyway. Or they dump the diesel from their big rigs into their home oil tanks and write it off 100% as a business cost.

The mess that is our education system
herbie replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well that started out with a decent point then degenerated into a typical rant idolizing the very parents that are exactly like that. Too lazy to even look at the curriculum they succumb to lies from those that wish to promote their intolerant views and picket the School Board meetings with absurd accusations and elect members who actually want to indocrinate kids rather than educate them. -
Oh let him finish draining the swamp so only the scum is left. He'll save everyone from the elites and replace them with untermenschen.

It's two buzzwords that indicate it's time to stop listening, the person using them is just p1ssing and moaning with as little effort as possible. -
How Electric Cars Save The Planet

Ram's future commercial vehicle lineup could include both battery-electric and hydrogen fuel-cell vans. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1141210_ram-electric-van-lineup-to-expand-gain-hydrogen-fuel-cell-version Oh. (about the limit of my response) Choosing to ignore the energy expenditures in every other type of fuel production, delivery, construction and motor efficiency? And who says we must only use 'green hydrogen'? The goal is to reduce CO2 emissions from vehicles. Hybrids only reduce that. BEVs, fuel cells and H2 powered ICE eliminate it. These primary arguments revolve around more electric grid as if that's an unsolvable problem which it isn't. Many countries now get more of their electricity from alternate sources than from traditional ones, most without going nuclear. The sun, wind, moon and the core of the earth are right there to use. -
They don't have options there. Sister in NS switched to propane heat in 2013 as it was cheaper and " just a nozzle change for when LNG was coming". They're still waiting... Won't mean anything in BC, for the few users of oil heat the carbon tax is provincial. Could get a bigger country wide support boost if they took off the GST on home and farm fuels.

Used to have a hobby farm. Remembering my girl chowing down and telling her Granma "We're eating Barney's bum!" The kids named all the pigs after fat TV stars. Norm was the boar that liked beer in his trough at fire pit parties. We had rabbits too, after eating one the ex gave all the live rabbits away to kids in the area. Their parents still hate her for that. Chickens were for eggs. At the time, meat in the store was far less than the cost of raising food animals. Too much work as well, the ex was zero help and the kids lost interest so we moved to town. She went back to the big city where people live in little boxes by a mall and mock property owners.

No shit, when you're doctor can pick up the phone and have your driver's license taken away or amended but they're not authorized or required to report you as a threat to the public? That's on the legislators. Other than that holding the shrink culpable for what the guy did is like suing your doctor for not being able to cure your cancer.

What do you mean "becoming"?

Had a 303, a 12 gauge and a 22 when I had my hobby farm and did some hunting. The 22 was used most for varmints and target shooting. When I moved to town and realized I wasn't going to hunt anymore, gave them to the wife's cousin to hold until my son ever got responsible enough to ever get his firearm & hunting license. He would've stole them and sold them for drugs as a teen. The kid never did and I lost touch with her cousin. I live in town, and if I ever even considered I needed a gun for 'protection' I'd up and move to a civilized country. Like Australia, New Zealand or the UK

My last cat was something, communicated well and taught my dog everything when he was a pup. How to use the doggie door, how to open those gentle push doors and cupboards. How to do your business outside etc. Got a kick how it used to run back and forth meowing and lead me to what it wanted. Look! The dog's out of crunchies. His water's out and he's too little to drink from the toilet.. I want a taste of what you're cooking... etc. The dog's 5 now and still learning to communicate with humans. Finally knows to bark w different tones - Someone's at the door (so Hicksville here the hillbillies don't know what doorbells are) - there's a bear in the yard - pick me up, let's GO somewhere etc.
