Our Census Form vs Their Ballot
herbie replied to August1991's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Voted once and there were signs outside and inside on the walls of the polling place, plus a notice right at the station you marked your ballot "this guy is dead, died after the ballots were printed". He came in 2nd. Last election we got 2 balots. One was for City Council & Mayor and the School Board was the other. One blue, one green went in different boxes. Both could have easily been on one ballot. -
Liberal government destroyed the Crown
herbie replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
FTFY And you're under the mistaken impression Canada's "creation" is over and done. MCGA, eh? It used to be better.... -
The Reverse Gish Gallop theory says you shouldn't reply point by point because if you make so much as a spelling mistake on one single point, the galloper will claim you lost the entire argument. Just as Gallopers claim if you fail to reply to so much as one single point they'll also claim you lost the entire argument. Same as if you rebut every single point perfectly, they'll claim that a specific point was about something entirely different and you're stupid or a leftist or a minority-lover and therefore you again lost the entire argument.

Liberal government destroyed the Crown

Nice try. We're Canadians, not Brits. It's only a few old white Tory toadies that claim we must cling to tradition over using our own identity and pull shit like putting back the "Royal" into everything. Just as this thread demonstrates. Moving on equates to erasure in their tiny minds. -
That person had a reason that was found valid. As for the rest of your fairy tale there are direct flights from Mexico to places like Prince George even. Some of those 'other Central American countries' are not listed as "safe" countries. Ever even heard of refugees from Costa Rica or Belize? "Immigrants" do not just come here and then apply. You sound like the typical rightwing blockhead that cannot distinguish between immigrants and refugees (let's just call them all 'illegals' when immigrants are not). Your proposals would work but so would machine gunning them if they approached the border just only one step shy of n East German border guard solution. Reneging on international treaties, closing the border and refusing refugees is a reprehensible idea.

Pierre Poilievre releases four-point plan to tackle auto theft
herbie replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Except you forgot things like Blaxkberry and many others in your rant. I'm not talking about size or rank, I am pointing out that things would be far worse if govt controlled production and distribution. Like housing - do you actually want govt built Soviet stlye blockhouses on your street? Foolish enough to believe that if taxes and building red tape are removed the builders will sell for below fair market value? That if they were forced to by law, it wouldn't affect your home's market value? -
And the winner is the 326th repeat of the 3rd episode of that show they aired before Covid, before the writer's strike, before the actor's strike... 2018 or something. Documentary Award to How It's Made" wooden shoes, spats, mustache wax, for being repeated every three hours every day, all week, since 2003

WTF has God got to do with conducting a ballot? Do you believe ballots aren't trustworthy now so therefore it must be true? Is your faith so blind you hope that you're not promoting the words of the AntiChrist?

because that is ALL they can do... dabble. Or do you want the govt to do: control the means of production and distribution? THAT is the dictionary definition of communism, not take away your guns and the right to 'free speech' and repression of minority rights. Yet so many posters here are screaming for more govt control over the economy, unable to understand that is what they claim to hate. -
Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.
herbie replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Australians upgrade old iMiEV (called worst EV ever made). Double the battery and range and keep more than a decade old EVs out of the landfill. -
For that matter when was the last time you heard of an Antifa or BLM protest, but these 'freedumb to do only what I agree with' ppl still carry on like their city's under siege right now. And those Palestine ones, why they've blocked the odd road for a whole hour or so sometimes. Punish punish and punish more!

Howl all you like, but nobody is going to end MAID. Well maybe in the unlikely event the Christian Heritage Party wins a majority.

Pierre Poilievre releases four-point plan to tackle auto theft
herbie replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And how does govt do that when it doesn't produce or distribute any of those things? We don't have and nobody wants a communist system that does those things, so how can they? All they can do is piddle about with taxes and regulations that have little or no effect on prices of any of those things, -

Effective in bringing more of the simple minded to his cause, not to reducing car theft more than one red c*nt hair.
