  1. This is odd for a gymnast. Men and women don't even compete in the same events, let alone against each other.
  2. The CRA will get it's cut of any investments you give away when they are sold. If you have anything left in your RIFF it will be taxed as income. If your estate is more than 25K it will be subject to probate.
  3. No one disputes your right not to get a tattoo.
  4. Perhaps but will you read a 500 page bill and understand it?
  5. The TMX goes through my town, not far from me. There were no demonstrations or vandalism during its construction. I also noticed that a lot of the construction workers had trucks with Alberta plates, which made sense.
  6. Big difference between a gas pipeline and an oil pipeline when it comes to possible environmental damage. Same goes for an oil tanker spill vs a LNG carrier venting NG into the atmosphere. I approved of TMX because it follows an existing right of way that is easily accessible and been in use since the 50's. Any tanker spills are also easily accessed and in waterways that already have a large amount of tanker traffic. Northern Gateway is a completely different animal. Not only is the terrain a lot more challenging, the weather is a lot worse. Right now they are looking at increasing Transmountain capacity by dredging Vancouver harbour and Burrard Inlet to allow larger tankers. BC is taking a shit load of Alberta oil to tidewater and the east coast is taking SFA. The environmental risks of taking a pipeline east are far lower than ramming them through the northern Rockies to be tankered through fjords that rival Norway's. Churchill might be one option if climate change can make it ice free enough. BC gets very little once the lines are completed.
  7. Half the population don't even watch the news, let alone read legislation. Also, every citizen would have to register their cell phone with Elections Canada, have it verified and have a separate pin to vote.
  8. Coastal GasLink Proposed projects This was of Jan 2023. Construction is well underway for the LNG Canada project and pipeline. Petronas is already considering expanding the LNG Canada project. While not investing directly, BC is offering considerable tax incentives to get these projects going.
  9. Why are you shitting on BC, we already have pipelines to the coast while the east has done sweet FA. The existing Transmountain can transport 900,000 barrels of Alberta crude a day to the west coast. BC accepts almost all the environmental risk for little reward so at least they should have a goddamn say. Isn't that the excuse the east is using to block pipelines?
  10. Is that what Alberta wants because I don't see a realistic alternative.
  11. BC natural gas reserves are estimated at over 600 trillion cubic feet. BC has several gas pipeline and a new one is under construction to a new LNG plant near Kitimat.
  12. I'm pro pipeline and was pro TMX but have a problem with Northern Gateway. The sea route is down a long narrow winding fjord and lack of accessibility to the mountain route would make cleaning up a spill in winter next to impossible.
  13. A lot of people said this alliance couldn't last. Too much testosterone. Who knew it would be this spectacular. I guess it shouldn't be that surprising considering the characters involved.
  14. What the hell are you smoking? Provincial debts are also going through the roof. The Quebec government debt is 355 billion and forecasting an 11 billion deficit this year. Other provinces aren't much better. https://www.iedm.org/27-quebec-debt-clock/
