Battle over Water Rights
Aristides replied to impartialobserver's topic in State Politics in the United States
Arizona city dwellers and farmers are fighting over water. Never mind California. On the other hand, in a few decades, Florida will be under water. -

Forcing Women to Register for Draft

Like code breaking, analyzing aerial photographs, delivering new aircraft from the factory to squadrons. Some female British pilots were checked out on dozens of types from fighters to heavy bombers. All kinds of jobs if you bother to look it up instead of making stupid sexist comments -

They don't have to be combat personnel although there is no reason not to if they want to volunteer for it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyudmila_Pavlichenko During WW2, millions of women served in the military doing vital jobs. As a matter of fact, their ability to multitask, organize and attention to detail made them superior to men in many jobs. -

They can do it in the military when you get drafted. Just because they might be drafted doesn’t mean it would be for a combat role. That could be voluntary but there are a lot of other jobs they could do which would free up men for other tasks. I see no real reason to exempt women other than men’s egos. -

Australia had 2/3 our population and New Zealand only 10% of our population.

There is actually, many countries do it including Canada. A PAL background check includes interviewing references. You want to run around sticking your fingers in a dike trying to stop a self inflicted flood. -
I'm not selling Canadians short at all but you don't pump yourself up by putting others down. Australians also fought in the Pacific and South East Asia which also took up most of their naval assets. Their country was bombed by the Japanese. Australian airforce units were involved in the Battle of the Atlantic. The real U571 was sunk by an Australian airforce Sunderland flying boat. The Australian population in 1940 was just over 7 million.

Socrates was correct, insults are not a substitute for debate, they are an excuse to avoid it. -

1. Why would they have a monopoly on instruction if it was mandatory. 2. Not nonsense at all, the shooter was using AR15's with bump stocks. -
I think Australians, Kiwis and South Africans would tend to disagree. They did much of the fighting in North Africa when Canadians were sitting in the UK. After repeated failures by both the British and Americans, it was Indian and New Zealand troops who finally took Monti Cassino. Gurkhas are regarded by many as the gold standard when it comes to light infantry, their courage and loyalty is legendary. Australians and Kiwis also did a lot of fighting in South East Asia against the Japanese where Canadian units were not involved at all. And of course, there was also Gallipoli in WW1. They were also pretty rugged countries in their own right which required tough independent people to survive.
