  1. Meanwhile right wing propagandist, conspiracy theorist, and all-round disgusting human being Alex Jones finally got his kermuffins this week from a TEXAS JURY that ruled he must pay around $50 million total to the families of the murdered Sandy Hook children he and his vile minions senselessly harassed over the years . He got off easy considering how many times the judge found him to be lying on the stand and also playing hooky from court. And yet instead of receiving perjury and contempt charges, he only received repeated verbal warnings that he mostly ignored. My favourite part was when Alex’s incompetent lawyer accidentally sent a copy of Alex’s entire phone….including 2 years of messages where he admits to lying under oath….to the opposing lawyer. And then when promptly informed of his mistake he did nothing to try to get it excluded from evidence. That sums up this whole conspiracy-populist right wing movement for you, evil AND massively ignorant and incompetent.
  2. No. You clearly suck at math and don’t get it. They’re a tiny country with the population the size of a city. Therefore “per capita” is always going to be high even if they only have ones incident.
  3. You obviously don’t know anything about Hungary, which isn’t even considered to be democracy anymore. Since he seized control with a supermajority over a decade ago, Orban and his oligarchs has seized control of 90% of all public and privately owned media which refuse to run ads for opposition political parties, his party has rewritten the country’s constitution at will, placing the courts that investigate corruption and oversee elections under their direct control, mass-purged the public service and courts of career officials and replaced them with party loyalists, gerrymandering the entire country before every election to continue producing supermajorities for them, expropriating any business that is or could fund opposition groups or using regulatory abuse to shut them down entirely, running fake candidates and fake parties in every election to confuse opposition voters, the list goes on. Orbanz style of government is called “authoritarian democracy” or “soft fascism” in that it still has all the superficial symbols of democracy like the right to vote and free speech but the game is rigged to only produce one result (a Fidesz Party supermajority) with minimal use of Putin-style “hard” tactics like killing and jailing critics. Here is one of the many reports on Orbans abuse by democracy-watching organizations https://www.journalofdemocracy.org/articles/how-viktor-orban-wins/ Your ridiculous “Big Lie” zero-evidence conspiracy theory is rigged up there’s with flat-earth, Lizard People and fake moon landing nonsense and the fact that you want to overturn an election based solely on your “because I say so” argument shows what a fascist you are.
  4. Trump wasn’t hard on China, Trump brand clothing is still made there. And you’ll have to elaborate on exactly what conspiracy Wikipedia is in on, I’m not giving your right wing propagandists any YouTube clicks, that’s how they get paid: posting inflammatory bullshit that gets their followers to like and share.
  5. The country of Norway has fewer people than tue Greater Toronto Area, genius. Therefore a single isolated shooting results in a higher “per capita “ rate. That’s what you keep repeating your disputed claim without offering a single piece of evidence or link to back it up.
  6. Well it’s true that America is a cesspool riddled with mental health and socioeconomic problems but other countries have those problems too and their people don’t go on shooting sprees Their homicidal maniacs run around with knives not AR-15s and the victims of their attacks - if any - are counted in the low single digits not by the dozen The Norway claim is hilarious. You’re using Norway’s one mass shooting in 2011 by a RIGHT-WING extremist and it’s relatively small population to suggest it’s more violent than USA.
  7. Two concepts: 1) rate of gun ownership: higher rates leads to higher gun crime 2) level of gun control: higher rates lead to LOWER gun crime Switzerland has higher ownership most than European counterparts (who also have strict gun control in addition to lower rates of ownership) so has higher gun crime but it also has strict gun control so still far less than USA The false comparison that Yzer is trying to make is that Switzerland has high ownership therefore must not have much gun control which is false.
  8. That was actually the official Conservative and Republican policy of Reagan/Thatcher extreme capitalism that did all that, but I’ll admit that plenty of “centrist” Democrats and Chretien/Martin Liberals played along too. Hilarious that you would even mention “mugging democracy” when your Big Lie is an actual blatant attempt to end democracy completely and Republicans fawn all over anti- democratic authoritarians like Bolsonaro and Orban.
  9. I hear it works even better if you do that while wearing your tinfoil hat and lead-lined underwear.
  10. Vague nonsense and hypothetical nonsense There was no “bowing down to CCP”
  11. Republicans flipped again and passed the Act. You and Ben “my wife’s vagina has never been wet” Shapiro are proven to be losers….again
  12. Hey King of Wrong, once again you’re on the losing side history. Republicans flip flopped on the bill AGAIN in response to outrage from veterans and they passed the PACT Act. Toomeys proposed amendment to make the spending discretionary instead of mandatory was also voted down. Only 11 senators continued to vote for more dead servicemen and veterans…..all Republicans of course….
  13. False. But it’s probably coming soon. Lmao another CONSPIRACY!!!!! You guys crack me up. Nobody controls “the definition” of recession and nobody is conspiring to change it. It’s just yet another out-of-context Republican conspiracy theory based on a White House blog post that describes recessions and the different ways they have been described by different experts As Newsweek points out: First, there's a minor inaccuracy in the Reddit post. It claims the White House published this article after GDP numbers were released. GDP numbers will actually be released this Thursday, July 28, 2022. Second, both the Reddit and Twitter posts have cropped out the header of the purported White House "definition." The text, published on social media, is from a July 21, 2022 blog post, titled "How Do Economists Determine Whether the Economy Is in a Recession?" By only including the first two paragraphs of this blog post, alongside the White House logo and website URL, the captures on social media may imply the content came from a more authoritative or neutral source. This is not the case; it is an editorial piece that is labeled as such. The subheadings "Written Materials" and "Blog" include hyperlinks, which when selected present a chronological list of press releases and other White House analysis, which do not purpot to be a dictionary of accepted government terms and metrics. Furthermore, the White House website doesn't have a dictionary or catalog of all political terminology and jargon it uses (that is the case for other governments, such as those of the UK and Canada, too). https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-did-white-house-change-definition-recession-1727641?amp=1
  14. Like what other factors… the drinking water? The most popular breakfast cereal? Can you give me an example of a first world county that has more gun control but worse gun crime? Keeping in mind that you were already completely wrong about Switzerland b Give an example of you would consider acceptable evidence.
  15. How many times do I have to say it: 1) the so-called “accounting trick” provision was in the original bill when Republicans passed it the first time. Your own copy-paste which you probably didn’t even read or understand admits that 2) It’s not an “accounting trick” to make it mandatory instead of discretionary budget item 3) Nowhere does the legislation “open the door” to unrelated or “random” spending It moves RELATED VA spending to mandatory which is still subject to appropriation scrutiny through normal process 4) clearly the motive was to pwn the Dems in retaliation for Dems passing the Inflation Reduction Act which is why the Republicans were partying like it’s 1999 after condemning those veterans to die All you’re doing is copy-pasting Republicans baseless claims issued by their spokespeople. Why don’t you show us the actual proof that backs up these claims? Where’s the paragraph in the bill that authorizes hundreds of billions of unrelated spending? Why don’t you quote that instead of your politician’s spokesperson’s propaganda? As usual, just like the BIG LIE and all your other baseless conspiracy theories, your claims are just zero-evidence bullshit that you gullibly accept and believe without question
  16. You didn’t find anything and you still don’t get it. It’s clear you don’t even understand the copy/paste you regurgitated here.
  17. For example? Like I already asked you, what more evidence would you require? Be specific. I gave you evidence and you claimed (without evidence) that it was cherry picking
  18. False. Switzerland has always had one of the highest rates of gun violence in Europe and the federal government has been toughening gun control in recent years with result being lower gun crime . You’ve already been educated about the reality in Switzerland but you continue to spew your false nonsense Here are the facts that I already provided for you AGAIN : https://www.businessinsider.com/switzerland-gun-laws-rates-of-gun-deaths-2018-2?amp
  19. 1) countries that have gun control have lower incidence of gun deaths than countries that don’t (USA vs the entire developed world, Switzerland vs rest of Europe) 2) countries that significantly strengthen gun control laws have lower incidence of gun deaths than they did prior to enacting them (UK, Australia) What more proof can there be?
  20. Lol your internet search couldn’t turn up anything more than a Republican senators proposal talking points? Maybe you should have spent more than 10 minutes That’s a lie, nothing changed since June when Republicans approved it. Note that Toomey voted against the bill both times because he’d rather see these soldiers and vets die in the name of right wing fiscal austerity and to keep tax cuts for the rich. And his concerns are all hypothetical fears about FUTURE possible spending that normally gets addressed during regular reviews anyway The other Republicans who flipped their vote however have no excuse because nothing changed .This is about pwning the libs nothing more Why else the Ted Cruz fist bump? Here’s Military Times coverage: Toomey’s concerns are the same he raised in June, when he was one of the 14 senators who objected to the PACT Act’s final passage. The bill has undergone minor technical changes since then. Several Republican senators who objected last week have justified their flip in recent days by insisting that Democrats only recently inserted the problematic issues into the bill, but the discretionary spending language provisions are the same as June, when the measure easily passed the Senate. Discretionary vs. mandatory spending Both advocates and administration officials have also disputed Toomey’s concerns about the accounting issues. In federal budgeting, spending classified as mandatory (which includes things like veterans benefits checks and Social Security payouts) is set in law and renewed annually. Discretionary spending, which includes program operations, can change each year depending on the whims of lawmakers. Toomey has said he does not have concerns with categorizing the new benefits included in the PACT Act (about $279 billion over 10 years) as mandatory spending. But he insists that provisions to move other existing toxic exposure benefits spending in the annual VA budget from the discretionary budget to the mandatory one opens up the door for budgetary gimmicks down the road. That theoretical spending would not be included in the PACT Act. But by reducing the total amount of discretionary spending in the non-defense side of the federal budget, future appropriators could have more flexibility to shift money into other non-veteran programs. After last week’s failed cloture vote, Senate Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Jon Tester, D-Mont., blasted Toomey’s arguments baseless, saying that the normal appropriations process allows those kinds of debates each year. And Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough on Sunday said requiring this block of veterans spending to remain in the discretionary budget would only endanger veterans’ benefits. “The impact of [Toomey’s plan] is we may have to ration care for veterans,” he said on CNN. “The estimates he uses set caps on what we can invest in people.” https://www.militarytimes.com/news/burn-pits/2022/07/31/burn-pits-benefits-bill-concerns-arent-new-hinge-on-budget-moves/ As for Stewart being “almost always wrong” we know that’s just another fake accusation you make against anyone and everyone who says things you don’t want to hear. Of all people, he’s also got a well earned reputation as being especially a very down to earth non-pretentious person and the exact opposite of smug poser. So as usual you’re the one who’s “wrong”
  21. For Example….? And I mean provide an example where Dems blocked something that made the difference in someones life or death like in this case , not blocking an airport expansion or oil drilling or something. Republicans have a ling track record of shit like this especially relating to any sort of publicly funded healthcare which they universally hate even for veterans.
  22. And those sick military members and veterans just have die for it eh? Go give yourself a fist bump on a dead veterans grave and say “welcome to politics noob”. Like I said disgusting Republicans will sink to any low just for any chance to pwn libs on anything….at all costs
  23. BS. There’s nothing original about Scalias interpretation “Originalist” isn’t a real thing anyway, it just a made up term for conservatives who want to go backwards to a time when women and blacks didn’t have rights.
