  8. Drought conditions in several regions of Canada in 2025 continued to impact electricity generation and electricity trade in October. Total electricity generation in Canada decreased 2.1% year over year to 46.2 million megawatt-hours (MWh) in October. The decline was mainly due to hydroelectric generation, which fell 6.2% year over year to 23.4 million MWh, amid prolonged dry conditions. Exports of electricity to the United States fell 29.2% year over year to 1.9 million MWh in October, the lowest export level since April 2024. Manitoba, historically a significant exporter, was the largest contributor to the decline. October 2025 marked the fifth month in which Canada has been a net importer of electricity since this series was redesigned in 2016; electricity imports also exceeded exports in February, March and April 2024, as well as in March 2025. To compensate for lower levels of domestic generation, imports of electricity jumped 54.8% year over year to 2.2 million MWh in October, largely driven by Manitoba and Quebec. Both provinces rely heavily on hydroelectricity generation and have faced low water levels throughout 2025. https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quotidien/260109/dq260109d-eng.htm

  13. The fear is palpable and the Carney's an overt liar.
  14. Iceberg tip. Brookfield Asset Management Headquarters Move: Conservatives have accused Carney of lying about his involvement in the move of Brookfield Asset Management's headquarters from Toronto to the United States. While Carney stated the "formal decision" was made after he left his role as chair, records indicate he wrote a letter to shareholders advocating for the move and chaired board meetings regarding it before his departure. Resignation from Corporate Roles: Upon entering politics, Carney stated he had "resigned all [his] roles, cut all [his] ties". However, reports in early 2025 indicated he still had connections to several organizations, including as president of Chatham House and chair of the Group of Thirty. Claims Regarding Past Government Roles: Critics have challenged the narrative surrounding his earlier career, specifically regarding his role in balancing the budget under former Prime Minister Paul Martin, noting he was not working for the Department of Finance at that time. Financial Disclosures: Conservative MPs have pressed for immediate disclosure of his financial holdings, particularly regarding stock options held in companies he was involved with, questioning his transparency. The fear is palpable.
  15. The Carney's a liar and yet you place in him a misguided Blind trust which is as shallow as the Carney blind trust assets. So why the Poilievre fear?
