  1. That would be the OSC. The SEC regulates the American Securities industry. Kinsella makes an interesting point of how donations from Bay Street are up so far this election. Very, very interesting stuff there...
  2. The media should be told outside market hours. Indication is that was not the case in this instance.
  3. Kind of a childish comment to start, let's move to a more positive tone. Alberta has 28 MPs. In 2004 26 went CPC and two went Liberal. *IF* the votes received by the ND and Liberals candidates in every riding were combined the shockingly different results would be as follows. 24 CPC MPs, four ND/Liberal MPs. The two *swing ridings would be Edmonton-Strathcona, which encompasses the University of Alberta and Edmonton-East, covering the blue collar heart of Edmonton. Not that it would ever happen before. Oh yeah, a lot of small-c conservatives helped in putting Joe Clark into office in Calgary Centre during the 2000 election. That riding was re-districted in 2004 into Calgary North Centre and Calgary South Centre. The CPC candidates in 2004 won 54% and 51% of the vote respectively. Oh, I get it. The ND and Liberal voters put Clark into office. Yeah, right.......
  4. Wow, You really don't get it. Do you? Telling the media in advance allows people with inside knowledge to take advantage of the policy changes before it hits "the street". This is illegal for a very good reason. If people lose confidence in the markets the underpinings of our economic system would be shaken. High interest, high unemployment, low dollar, low standard of living....
  5. Eureka, the other proposals the CPC have made towards changing the way Canadians are taxed support your conclusion directly. Splitting of income will lower the need for people to have a double-income family for solely economic reasons.
  6. StatsCan, probably does have the expertise you claim they lack. That was never the goal of their research. They asked people to self-identify, in an absolutely confidentail manner. i.e. no fear of reprisal. There have been many studies since Kinsey to stand on either side. Any particular support normie or are you just ranting again?
  7. Again spreading lies and ignorance. Getting back on topic. It seems that you are admitting the Liberals are wrong in this case, but it is justified because of your inaccurate portrayal of CPC policies on other issues.
  8. Err, I appreciate the apology. Alas, you are painting Harper as a homophobe just because he does not support your political views, not because of any overt actions on his part. His opposition to the hate crimes legislation was much more nuanced then you will admit, or maybe can comprehend. He has spoken about SSM once, doesn't sound like repetitive to me. and, and, and what? The issues that cause you to ignorantly insult me aren't the issues I base my vote on. Does that make me a homophobe? Absolutely not.
  9. Hmmm, thanks for re-inforcing my point. Same dictatorial Liberals trying tell the uneducated mass of Canadians what is best for them. Seriously though, have you been drinking or something? You usually don't spell this strangely or question the words you have spelled correctly. Yeah, I think Rona Ambrose. She will do a much better job as minister of social development than Ken Dryden.
  10. Bah! LMAO. So is "the first daring television documentary of female homosexuality" an official title? Did it win the first Juno ever awarded in that category? btw, there really was *NO* reason to state the obvious fact that it was for the CBC. tell us about the time you had tea with the Queen Mother. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  11. Puh lease. What about all the rhetoric about a *scary* parallel health system? Is this also kinda like Jack not doing a 180 on the Clarity Bill. Oh wait, he did!
  12. OMG k, what a thought. And I am going back to Edmonton next week. hmmmm..... I'll get my people to call Angelina.
  13. Dumont urged Québecois to vote Conservative in 2004. I have seen him speak, seems like a good leader. If the CPC can make a *tiny* breakthrough here they might be able to persuade him to jump to the Federal arena.
  14. Kiraly, Your link was dead, so here it is again. CTV Link redux I think Warren Kinsella said it best in his post today. www.warrenkinsella.com/musings
  15. Err, That's going waaaaaay to far. You won't find anything homophobic in any of my posts. Insults of this kind really drag you down into the mud. Do you feel better about your hatred towards the CPC by painting its supporters all with the same, inaccurate brush? Won't that drive you homophobe (anti-gay) CPC types crazy when " Sven Rides Again".... <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  16. The tax credits are for business to supply daycare spaces. Who are you to decide what daycares should look like? There should be freedom to provide daycare spaces that fit the best wishes of the parents, with regulation ensuring that standards of care are met. What are you saying about people paying down the SUV loan? People will leave their children without care in order to make an extra payment on their vehicle? That would actually be neglect and bring them under criminal prosecution. Martin was totally right when he said this election is about different sets of values. People who value their ability to make decisions about their lives rather than leaving it in the hands of the state have a very clear choice in front of them.
  17. There is a lot of power in polling. I sure hope you are right. The way this thing is going (i.e. back and forth between the polls) I would be shocked if we don't see one national poll with a +3 CPC lead by the middle of January. ps, didn't you mean your BTW with a instead of a
  18. Good insight. My bad for not reading the link before. Strange how Clopin overlooked that. Care to explain the difference Clopin?
  19. Probably. Normie, why don't you make a *non-hypocritical* prediction that you feel is consistent with current polling data?
  20. You are right, but four major polls have been released in the interim that show the Liberals leading Ontario. Here's the best link I have found for keeping track of the major polls. (btw, if anyone has found a better one please share.) http://predictor.hillandknowlton.ca/
  21. Status quo would mean that the police ignore simple possession, wouldn't it Normie? Wouldn't voters who care about marijuana possession laws "as much as any other issue" vote for the marijuana party? Kinda makes sense to me. Oh sorry Normie, don't want logic to interfere with your rants from the soapbox. Or maybe I do!
  22. Agreed, not a possibility for everybody. But why should parents be financially penalized for staying home with their kids. So sorry, the Liberals want to financially punish families that choose to have a parent stay home with the children. Great work Paul!
  23. I don't agree with the 1% figure either. I figure the truth lies somewhere between that and the 10% figure of people who have *ever* had a gay experience that the Gay and Lesbian lobby trumpet as their percentage of the population (from the Kinsey study, which had a number of flaws including a disproportionate number of incarcerated convicts.) If I had to guess, and I have no real interest in getting into competing studies, definitions of homosexuality yada yada, I would put the figure at 2 to 4% of the population.
  24. That's why a free vote in Parliament is the perfect way to deal with the issue. btw, that 1% figure corresponds very well with this board....
  25. You are attacking the Bible as intolerant? Pot - kettle - pot! You won't be allowed to bring this board down with your one issue rants normie, so give it up.
