  1. I find Hamas supporters and those who make up excuses to kill civilians to be very bad people, but I wouldn't prevent them from speaking up for their beliefs which I find disgusting. After all, many view my support of Israel as being horrible as well, and we're not in a state of total war against neither protagonists in the region.
  2. Was this money available or not to the Iranians, answer this question.
  3. This video is not really contradicting Donald Trump. What Trump says is the Biden Administration 'gave' 6 billion to Iran during a prisoner swap by unlocking 6 billion that was previously unavailable due to sanctions. The Democrats excuse this by saying this 6 billion will be used for 'civilian purposes', just like the Iranian nuclear program is only officially 'civilian' when in reality is to develop nuclear weapons. The fact that US taxpayers didn't pay directly for those 6 billion is pure hypocrisy, a weird talking point to gaslight us into thinking unlocking this money to Iran was impactless. It's not what matters. What matters is that Iran has 6 billion dollars more as a result from this administration. Antony Blinken again showed the world his incompetence. Under his last tenure as a Secretary of State, the world burned. It is even worse in his current one. He will go in the History books as one of the worse, if not the worse Secretary of State of all time.
  4. They can buy us already as they're doing currently. 75% of our exports go to them.
  5. But our secret maple syrup traps will stall the US tanks from moving across our border, and beavers will cut trees to make a barrage, when we destroy the barrages, the enemies will be overflowed and drown. Our doctrine is defense first, never forget that.
  6. Did you know Afghanistan had its capital city, Kabul, dubbed the Paris of Central Asia? It is described in History books (not according to CITIZEN_2015) as a somewhat progressive country, especially in the 60s to 70s. Not every woman wore mini skirts showing their thighs, but they weren't threatened to be acid-attacked for that. Iran is a step backwards now from the then Afghanistan of that Era. The Islamic revolution was in 1979 massively popular, and the regime is still massively supported by its population, despite a vocal and active minority which always makes the news here. Elements of the population itself hits women who do not wear the Hijab, including many women who are strictly religious. Homosexuals are hanged in public, at this time, in Iran, and are left to rot on display for a crowd lusting for more blood and death to infidels. And it's happening in downtown Tehran and other major cities. This is your progressive Iranian populace on display, enjoying one of the shows. Iranians are definitely ready for democracy. That's right.
  7. You're right, that made me change my stance totally. Let's then display our support to Iranian women by cutting an inch of our hair and posting it on Twitter again. It will show the regime (which I don't understand because of my smooth brain) that we have the resolve we need to couch-activist our way to the destitution of the Ayatollahs. Just like you advocated for, for a year. The neighbor Afghanistan was a very progressive society too compared to the standards of the region 50 years ago. Let's try to regime-change that country to bring Liberal values to that area... Oh, we tried that with 20 years of occupation of that country. Let's build those schools for girls in Afghanistan. We never tried that too.
  8. You can't breach confidentiality agreements when it involves a minor in a court case. It's the same story as to why we don't have the names of minors killing people in the news.
  9. Got to make sure the prices say sky high by reducing supply as much as possible, while increasing demand substantially. This way the working class will happily work past 67 years of age to pay their mortgage.
  10. So the preacher preaches to its parrish. No one outside her fanbase is convinced by her. Taylor Swift is the queen of the 20 to 30 year olds, who aren't invested in politics as much as they are overrepresented on Twitter. She can influence society by singing about breaking yet another relationship of hers and shaking on a stage, but otherwise...
  11. History isn't written by ifs but whats. And the Democrats showed their true colours.
  12. Hold on a second here. What the court agreed with the parents was that the child's identity would be protected. I know the father is disparaged with the testosterone intake the child is taking while being a teenager. But it doesn't give him the right to give his child's name to the media and everyone on social media.
  13. Ok that's part of a contention here. He contravened on other aspects, such as naming him as a minor publicly. If a matter arises legally between you and your minor child, you can't always give out all infos publicly while it's still under litigation. For this part you quote, I would agree that it would be preposterous that he would be threatened legally. But it isn't what this case is all about.
  14. Taylor Swift is a musician. She sings and people do what she does when they are groupies. The others, don't care. Why do you care so much about her, she's insignificant politically speaking for most of us. Nobody would vote for someone based on a singers' choice. Waste your energy on something else lol
  15. I live in Quebec and know it was very half-half. Many were agreeing to charging the comedian, while the other half was totally against and thought of it as an attack on free speech. Isn't the first step before imprisonment a punishment by a fine? He made a joke by making fun of the kid's look. It took the Supreme Court to say, no, we're not going to get involved in that kind of censorship and we have a right to free speech in Canada. Asshles are not necessarily criminals.
  16. Fair enough. Did you hear about the Mike Ward case in Quebec with Jeremy Gabriel?
  17. In this case, sorry OftenWrong, but you were wrong. BADUM TSSSS Clearly, the father wasn't being persecuted because he 'questioned' his child's gender identity. It was because he didn't follow a court order in general.
  18. Thank you for clarifying, I thought the parody Michael could have been the real one, after all, Poe's law. In the case of the person imprisoned for 60 days for calling an activist he despised a 'Fat Lesbian" in Switzerland, what do you think of the imprisonment sentence yourself?
  19. So we're at 02????
  20. What terrifies me is that kind of 'do-gooder Ned Flanderesque' vibe that comes with that censorship. It's always for the good that censorship must be applied. Insulting someone, in my opinion, should not be grounds for an imprisonment. This will lead to power trippers/literal tyrans to abuse that power at their advantage when the time comes.
  21. I don't know about you, but I find this is extremely concerning. Censorship groups in Canada hold already a big enough power, and look at what they do when they have more control in another country similar to ours. Hate Speech laws will become more and more stringent in the West and the movement to imprison people with contrarian or deemed-offensive ideas will become more and more common. You may disagree with insulting someone, and are maybe advocating for a more civilized society yourself, but this is a step in the wrong direction, and creates a martyr as well as a precedent. ----- Swiss LGBTQ+ rights groups hail 60-day sentence for polemicist who called journalist a 'fat lesbian' GENEVA - LGBTQ+ groups are hailing the 60-day jail sentence a court in Switzerland gave to a writer and commentator for deriding a journalist as a "fat lesbian" and other critical remarks. The Lausanne court sentenced French-Swiss polemicist Alain Bonnet, who goes by Alain Soral, for defamation, discrimination and incitement to hatred on Monday. He was ordered to pay legal fees and fines totaling thousands of Swiss francs (dollars) in addition to the time behind bars. Soral lashed out at Catherine Macherel, a journalist for Swiss newspapers Tribune de Geneve and 24 Heures, in a Facebook video two years ago. Switzerland made it illegal to discriminate against people on the basis of sexual orientation in 2020. https://www.ctvnews.ca/world/swiss-lgbtq-rights-groups-hail-60-day-sentence-for-polemicist-who-called-journalist-a-fat-lesbian-1.6586468
  22. You know, Trump wasn't kind of Hitlerish when he gained power. Yes you can criticize him on laws he passed and the economic orientation he took. But I think it's fair to say Trump also brought the Abraham Accords and the South and North Korea diplomatic restoration. He was an interventionist, he tried a military coup in Venezuela which failed. The sanctions were atrocious to the people there, and the coup failed totally. His presidency was a mixedbag all around, from the economic standpoint to the diplomatic perspective, which are the main focuses of a presidency. Overall, Trump wasn't that dangerous to the world stability while not being the force of good people who are fanatized by him claim to be.
  23. It was a very big surprise when Trump won in 2016. I think it would be a surprise if Trump won in 2024. But it is a serious plausibility. If the economy somewhat got worse and many people were bankrupt, a large portion of the popular vote would go to Trump. Economic reasons were what gave Trump victory back in 2016. It could be what would brought him back at the White House.
