This is something that exists since when...? I don't know. But with your knowledge of History, I'm sure you know you're describing what we call Royalty. Aristocracy has been existing forever and in many forms. Many people in society will forever have privileges.

I find them to be actually the light at the end of the tunnel we were in back in early January of this year. Since their protest, the COVID movement has become irrelevant. No one wants to be brought back in lockdowns anymore and many of the laws that were voted for simply disappeared or are not arbitrarily applied like in the last 2 years.
-
The people about us who control you and me already, do they want you to be content, and not threatening, and stay in their dominant position, or to make it as bad as possible for you so that you revolt? Are the people at the top interested in money, or are they sadistic sociopaths that want people's blood like vampires? I think some nuances in your reasoning should be brought, because the system is clearly broken in many ways, but I don't think being too dark or white helps thinking outside the box and finding concrete solutions to our issues.

I think corruption exists in my province at higher and lesser degrees depending on which sectors. It is a real problem, but I don't think a violent revolution would bring your desired results, otherwise France would have become the most efficient State in the World.
-
No it does not make the news when it happens, it is very common and saw it only less than 10 years ago, I also have relatives who had the same thing happen to them. It is also very common to have a dress code in many corporations/office environment. You know you are defending an adult showing its private parts to entire classes of minors?
-
You think it's that bad, compared to before?

Canada in the 1970s, with the War Measures Act in Québec, was not the utopia you imagine it to be. It never was an utopia. It is imperfect and also I think it is reformable.

You do realize that the UBI does unofficially exist, right? And it costs you every year a hefty sum of your paycheck coming tax season. Why not simplify it to its maximum? And the Nanny State has its limits, like you said, Jean Chrétien himself a Liberal was able to unclog it spectacularly.
-
There's already an unofficial threshold of living in Canada, unofficially, through government assistance that require a lot of bureaucracy. UBI would be simpler and would not create more money in the economy, it would simply mean that money spent in federal/provincial government employees would go directly to the ones needing it.
-
I know, I was referring your latter remark
-
Yes, and you don't think reducing bureaucracy by having UBI may mitigate that crisis by reducing our budget for personnel at the Federal/Provincial government?
-
The thing is there are lots of parasites already, and we're already paying them. And we have an entire bureaucracy to pay on top of the benefits of said parasites. Nice song btw

In the 1980s, Paul Volcker raised the interest rates up to 21% to bring inflation down, because it was in the double digits, unlike today. The inflation back then was caused by many things, and absolutely yes, Socialism when gone too far leads to that. For example, Sweden had a State controlled economy up until the 1990s and liberalized after going bankrupt. There are drastic measures that exist, we want to avoid them, but I think by cutting spending by creating an UBI instead of many programs that cost a lot of money and personnel to run, it is better to use these resources elsewhere.
-
Dougie, despite UBI not existing yet, there is lots of welfare sent to a lot of people. That costs a lot of money to manage all of the welfare programs, it does not advantage me and you in the slightest the way money is distributed. There is lots of fraud in our existing system. There is a lot of money collected from welfare that is used to finance illegal activities. There are lots of State employees required to run these programs. It is better to have UBI, it simplifies everything. For the later part of your post, may you recall the last time your cycle you're talking about happened?
-
I think UBI would be beneficial for a number of reasons too. Despite what you may think, I think Right Wingers should be pushing for it; 1- Easier to give a one-size-fits-all benefit for all those who don't work than having a complicated, bureaucratic system. 2- Easier to track. 3- The cost of said program is lesser than paying for many programs that require lots of scrutiny. 4- Many people just CAN'T work for many reasons such as mental health issues, disabilities, too old, too unqualified, too limited intellectually to function in a work environment. It is better for their dignity to make the process simple and less intrusive, than to have very complicated programs to handle those people.

Having big breasts isn't a crime. You are confounding the topic with having big breasts and showing nipples to minor students. Showing nipples to minors may be subject to a conviction. Same thing if you want to show your big cock to a class. It isn't appropriate. You have the right to have a big cock herbie, although I doubt you have one, but if you did have one, don't show it to kids. Is it understandable?

School Boards Promoting Homosexuality?
QuebecOverCanada replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I'm sure the Whites in these classes are going to remember fondly their experience they had to endure in their first school years and not become A) a White Supremacist or B ) A self-loathing individual. Collective guilt brings good things, all the times it's been tried.- 479 replies

1. It is counterbalanced by the fact that inflation makes money that was borrowed in the past worth less. 2. Yes. It is the goal of a raise of interest rates, to control demand in society, so people live with their real money and not borrowed money. 3. Yes, because people will pay with real money - not borrowed - their things. It also makes inflation go down, thus wages are more significant as a result. 4. View point 2.

The Halton District School Board is “standing behind” an “accepted” transgender teacher who has gone viral in social media video posts. In addition, HDSB Chair Margo Shuttleworth tells the Toronto Sun that staff are looking at “going through creating a safety plan” to ensure the Oakville Trafalgar High School teacher’s security as they prepare for potential protests when the school opens for classes Monday. https://torontosun.com/news/local-news/warmington-halton-school-board-prepares-for-backlash-over-trans-high-school-teacher

School Boards Promoting Homosexuality?
QuebecOverCanada replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
1. Of course they do, the subject is brought up often by students, parents; what is this flag in front of our school? 2. The standards of teaching are going down in Ontario. The Ontario Divisional Court stated that giving wanna-be teachers a standardized math test is unconstitutional.- 479 replies

1. Should Schools Fly Gay Pride Flags? No, and I have a suggestion. That they teach mathematics, English/French, Science, Arts and PE. I know, a very extremist viewpoint nowadays.- 479 replies
