  1. Take a 3/4 ton diesel truck, there’s about 10k worth of emission related components in that already expensive truck. How many polar bears are we saving for that money and did we even want to save the freaking polar bears in the first place!? I’ve not heard of a compelling argument for the polar bears.
  2. That’s nebulous but since you insist. How much risk and what is the cost for abatement? See that’s the problem with the narrative, people don’t consider the total cost to be environmentally sustainable.
  3. Yeah no, I don’t care about everyone. North America is priority 1. If India and China insist on polluting the planet with green house gas emission that benefits North America then be my guest.
  4. This part is not clear. Risk for who exactly? For North America? Global warming would open up Artic trade routes and make a desolate region otherwise habitable. Spur economic development.
  5. So what is the disagreement? My assertion is that global warming is a good thing.
  6. Green house gases does not emit heat. It is an insulator, like your blanket.
  7. Another way of saying that is we should look at the macro trends instead of relying on data that as you say, been only collected in the past 175 years. It’s accurate to say that the planet has been experiencing periods of warming and cooling. It’s speculative to say that green house gases are the cause of a global climate change. That just violates the law of thermal dynamics. Energy conservation dictates that the energy has to come from somewhere. In the case, the vast majority is coming from the sun. Green house gases serves as an insulator and is a good thing when the earth is entering a period of cooling. That’s what I’m really saying. Global warming is a good thing.
  8. We only see big trends say the animal morphology of the fossil records. We don’t have high resolution data down to the exact time in years or even century like we do today.
  9. We’ve only been recording temperature changes for a century. Compared to earth’s history this is a relatively colder phase.
  10. When you have a commodity based economy, it’s subject to supply and demand curve. It’s not like Canada did anything special to boost its own economy. It was a short term commodity demand surging prices that benefited canada.
  11. Mini America, you 51sters sure like playing mental gymnastic; avoiding the fact(s). @CdnFox
  12. Canada going through its own MAGA phase lock in step with America, who ever saw that coming. I don’t even know why you all put up the pretense of not being American.
  13. A bridge to America* need to be specific there . Its not like anyone wants to go to Canada...
  14. Sounds defensive. It’s okay, 51st is inevitable.
  15. You do know Canada is near collapse yes? It was 10 years pre Trump tariff. Now that timeline has accelerated. And I’m not sure why you retired lot seem to think it won’t affect you. Your pension isn’t solvent and your assets are worth less when the state collapses. See Soviet Union. It’s time to cut a deal with Orange Man. It’s time to be 51st.
  16. The idea of Canada is a joke. Canada is a retarded non government organization. Like why the hell are all rights equal in Canada’s constitution??? Freedom of speech is certainly not equal to the legal theft you call equalization payment.
  17. Stop saying that like it’s true. Countries have interests, sometimes those interests don’t align.
  18. How upset is Canada? Canada built that bridge to facilitate commerce , thus it is subject to US customs enforcement. Don’t like it? 51st. What’s stopping ya?
  19. You're not wrong in the concerns laid out. Which is why, 51st is more attractive, this would limit the senate vote for cringe leftist/NDP influence. Now that's not to say that Canada should remain 51st forever, there can be provision for exapanded state(s). Texas has similar agreement when it became a state, there is provision for Texas to split into 5 separate state should it choose to do so.
  20. Yes this is what happens when you try to pretend that you’re a real country and not American. The tragic truth is that this is easily solved, pick up the phone and call Orange man. Tell him you accept the terms of surrender. @herbie
  21. It’s medicine .So they can stop pretending they’re not Americans. @CdnFox
  22. You people could use more freedom.
  23. Kind of, if Alberta secedes and chooses to be part of the US there’s not much the rest of Canada can do about it is there?
  24. If the US feels the need to incorporate Canada into its own system then yes, That would be the minimum asking price.
