Is Canada becoming a Communist state?
blackbird replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't see drawing cartoons in France as having anything to do with the subject of women in the military. You know there are a lot of Islamic terrorists in the world and nobody can guarantee being protected from them. If you can't see the problem is the mixing men and women together in the military has proven to be disaster. Nobody can predict who will be an abuser. It is an enormous disaster based on liberal ideology of feminism and equality of the sexes but completely ignores the truth of human nature. -

Yes, but also the military should not be designed in a way that creates temptation. Everything has boundaries and protections. Why do you think people have locks on their homes or fences around their property, or banks have security guards when money is being shipped in or out? Common sense is necessary to protect against the depravities of humans. -

Of course it doesn't excuse those doing the assaulting, but if you drop handfuls of money on the street on the way out of the bank, and don't notice it until you get home, don't expect it to be lying on the ground when you get back and don't expect it will all be returned to you. Face it, the world is full of weak, dishonest people. -

The problem is with liberals or Liberals, whichever you prefer, that can't seem to understand the simple facts of human nature and try to re-design the military in a way that puts many of the men in positions of temptation. And then expect nothing will happen. -

You need to ask the 500 plus women in the Canadian forces who were assaulted. Ask the generals how it happened. It is a simple fact when temptation is placed in easy reach of men, you know what happens. Simple logic that you don't seem to want to admit. -

OK, I'll give you a concrete example, although there are many of the failure of government intervention. The widespread sexual abuse scandals in the Canadian Forces is a prime example of government imposing it's ideology. Liberal feminism is what forced the military into integrating women into the ranks of male armed forces ranks. The rampant sexual abuse is the consequence. A prime example of liberal ideology completely ignoring human nature and the sex drive of men. Women should have remained in a separate branch of the military as I believe they were during WW2. This would have kept the sexes apart more. But this goes against the liberal ideology of feminism and that the sex of the person doesn't matter. Well, it has come back to bite the liberals hard and they have no solution. An example of government intervention (progressivism) proving it is a failure. -

Government proves over and over how bad Socialism is. The pandemic response failure and slow vaccination rollout is a prime example of the disaster of Socialism and bureaucratic control. -

You need to look more at the good side of things. Amazon has grown into a fantastic service that allows people to easily order goods from an infinite variety of choices from the comfort of home and for a relatively small fee have it delivered to their front door within a few days. This has made life much easier, especially with the pandemic, by allowing people to cut down on going into busy department stores with people everywhere. It also saves time and gas and is an enormous convenience to millions of people. It also provides thousands, maybe tens of thousands of jobs to Amazon workers in various places. This is what innovation and private enterprise does that authoritarianism and Socialism fail to do. Sure maybe the jobs are not paying as well or don't have all the benefits that some government workers have who live off taxpayers with their government unions, but Amazon workers could unionize and time negotiate better benefits for their workers. This is far better than Socialism and inefficiency of government running things. With the government/bureaucratic, inefficient postal service it has always taken weeks to order something from somewhere and costs a fortune for shipping. Amazon is fantastic. -

Another clear sign we are moving toward some kind of authoritarian Marxist / globalist state: Much of the former power cabinet ministers held has been removed from them and centralized in the PMO's unelected staff and Prime Minister himself. A clear example of this the SNC Lavalin/Jody Wilson Raybould issue and the Harjit Sajjan/ military sexual abuse problem. The minister of defence, Sajjan, refused to listen to a complaint against Vance and declined to take action, a clear sign he has little or no power to do anything. Gives the impression ministers are afraid to do anything for fear they will be shot down by the PMO or PM. This is a result of removing decision making from the elected and appointed cabinet ministers and centralizing it in the PMO, some of whom are unelected bureaucrats. -

Actually the question of Communism or Marxism is not a black and white question. It is a grey issue with many aspects of Communism existing in various countries around the world. Even China are not Communist in the strict definition you quoted. People are not paid according to their abilities and needs in these countries and they have introduced government-controlled capitalism in order to advance economically and be competitive in the world. But they still retain a brutal one-party totalitarian dictatorship with little or no human rights. That is one aspect of Communism that they embrace. The question I ask is Canada becoming or moving in that direction. I think there is evidence the answer is yes, but not in the sense of the strict definition you quoted. More in the sense of increasing government control, increasing globalist association with totalitarian and corrupt dictatorships, and increasing intrusion into everyone's life under the ideology that big brother knows what is best for you and you don't need all the freedoms you think you are entitled to. As for class warfare, liberal and left wing governments are skilled in creating division with their constant propaganda about alleged systemic racism, and harping about discrimination against minorities, and inequality they must conquer. They love to portray themselves as the saviours of the underdog or minorities purely for partisan political purposes. -

Canada has been without a Governor General for four months now and without a head of the Canadian Forces for about three month. This is not a good situation. This is PM Trudeau's making. He appointed Julie Payette and appointed the head of the Canadian forces. Now we have the head of the Supreme Court acting as GG which has some conflict of interest aspects to it, since he now must sign off on laws that he could be required to rule on as to their constitutionality. Also we could be facing an election very soon and if there is a hung parliament, the SC judge must work with the varies political parties to see if they can form a government. This should not be done by SC judge, but should be done by a GG who is not involved with SC rulings. The separation of powers is becoming blurred and could be a problem. Why is PM Trudeau not appointing a new GG and head of the Canadian Forces? Does he see a political advantage in putting these appointments off? -

So does that mean until a court makes a ruling, nobody knows whether a particular regulation is legal or unconstitutional? Maybe that's why we have so many breaking this regulation and that regulation. It has opened the door to ambiguity. Some people have received huge fines for walking their dog in the parking lot and doing other harmless things because some authorities don't know what they are doing. That's why many fines have been thrown out by the courts. -
The Nonsense of Trudeau's climate change policies
blackbird replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Rex Murphy put it well in the National Post: "Yet so it appears. The governor of the state of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer, has decreed for the good of the world environment that Enbridge Line-5, which passes through her state on its way to Ontario, will be closed. The mind rebels. It is so difficult to understand. For do not all the books of the law which govern the darkness of pipelines have but one target, and the commandments which govern them apply to one province alone. Thou shall not build a new pipeline in the land of Alberta. Neither under the ground, nor on the ground above, nor on rails. It is forbidden. And thou shalt not support the ones that are already there, for it is a wholesome thing to condemn them, and ye will receive many carbon credits and a new bicycle if ye do. For has it not been written in The Book of Greta: “Out of the hydrocarbons of Fort McMurray will come a great darkness, and out of the oil of Alberta alone, issues all pestilence and dread, and a great threat to the hummingbirds? Elizabeth of Sannich, visitor of cities, goddess of travel agents, whose air miles are as numerous as sands upon the beach, has given warning in like words: “The oil of the peoples of Alberta must layeth in the ground forever. Cursed be those who detect it. Cursed be those that buy it. And let anathema fall and darken the generations on all who would say otherwise. For they are shills. Let there be no Alberta pipelines lest ye perish.” Here endeth the lesson. The threat that by May 12, Gov. Whitmer will shut down Line 5 to Ontario, is so beautiful an issue it should be hanging in an art gallery. For what have we to look at? We have two leaders, Greener than shamrocks, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Gov. Whitmer, who see themselves plucked by the goddess of destiny herself, as human ambulances rushing to save the Earth from global warming. Who colour their dreams with visions of every oil and gas project in the world evaporating, and a flood of solar panels and a wilderness of windmills covering the planet. Every solemn word from the mouth of Gov. Whitmer echoes with perfection the rhetoric and environmental concerns of PM Trudeau, and his iron-bound conviction that global warming is the approach of Armageddon. He and she are twins on this topic. You could not place the tiniest film of gold leaf, a single hair, between her deepest urgings on climate change and those of Mr. Trudeau. " Rex Murphy: How's Trudeau going to get out of this Line 5 pickle and keep oil flowing? (msn.com) -

What defines the public good enough to justify denying fundamental rights? Using the same argument, a dictator could also deny people their basic freedoms such as freedom of speech, freedom of association, etc. as is done in North Korea. Incidentally, why does the Liberal government say they can't stop Canadians from travelling internationally because it would violate their Charter rights but provinces can deny them the right to travel between health regions? Seems to be a contradiction there. -

One of the characteristics of Marxist dictatorships is the people (or enough of them) worship the leader as if he is a god. This is the way it works in Communist dictatorships like N. Korea, China, and Russia, even though they are not strictly Communist in the sense of equality. There is a chain of hierarchy in the power structure. What it takes to set up that kind of authoritarian system is a leader who has a certain charisma that appeals to the mindless drones. That's it. From then on, the leader becomes a kind of god, especially to those who do not believe in the God of the Bible. The mental vacuum of these drones leaves them vulnerable to becoming idolizers of the earthly god. It doesn't take a large majority to do it. In fact in our system, it only takes between 30 or 40% of the population to believe and trust in such a leader. The reason is because of the divisions and number of political parties which split the vote. This leader can exploit his position if he so chooses and increase his power and security of position. -

Punishing the rich and innovative is one of the tenets and fetishes of Marxists, Commies, and Liberals. That's why Canada had no companies producing Covid vaccine when we needed them. Companies and investors can see the writing on the wall and will take their investments elsewhere to investment friendly places. -
No more forced vaccinations allowed in Canada.
blackbird replied to taxme's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
All doctors and experts I have heard on the subject have said the risks of getting Covid and the risks of serious illness or death from Covid are far greater than the risk from taking the vaccine. The risk of a bad reaction from the vaccine are extremely low. I have already explained all that and it has been repeated over and over on the media. So I repeat the chances of harm from not taking the vaccine are far greater than the chances of harm from the vaccine. The only chance of getting out of this pandemic in the reasonably near future is if enough people get vaccinated. We should all do our part. -

Just saw on the news that 85% of adults in Prince Rupert, BC have been vaccinated and the number of new Covid cases has dropped from a significant number to just 3 cases in a one week period from April 11 to 17th. This comes after the area reported 27 new cases in the previous week, and 72 new cases in the week before that. This is a tremendous success demonstrating the wisdom of getting vaccinated for the safety of everyone in the community. -

I gave just the facts which are widely reported by doctors and health experts. Video reports showing the situation in India don't lie. Dr. Alex Wong, infectious diseases physician and researcher is just commenting now on CBC and said the risk from AZ vaccine is far less than not getting vaccinated and catching a Covid variant, which is very contagious. Listen to the experts and get vaccinated asap. -

Very rare that anyone was injured or died from the vaccine. One in quarter of a million or one in hundreds of thousands. Your chances of dying from Covid or being seriously harmed from Covid are far greater. Far greater chance of harm from a motor vehicle accident, from illness, cancer, heart attack from taking medications, falling down, bicycle accident, etc. etc. We are doing our duty to protect ourselves and everyone else by getting vaccinated and helping defeat the pandemic. Incidentally, the health care system is collapsing in some places like India and they are cremating people everywhere. I heard on the news today they have learned how a few rare cases get blood clots and it sounds like they are able to treat those people in most cases. If you get a headache, pain in chest, or stomach after being vaccinated, see a doctor and see about being treated for a rare blood clot. But that is highly unlikely. Ontario is in crisis mode with overload of Covid patients and cancer patients in need of life saving surgery are being put on hold. Some people with Covid are starting to die at home because more are opting to stay home instead of going to a hospital, which is not a good idea. Many require oxygen to have a chance to survive. -

Life is a continuous series of risks. Many things we do involve risks. Simply going for a walk involves risks. We could get hit by a car when we cross a street. We could have serious illness or disease. Some activities are high risk. Some people like to parachute or climb cliffs for sport. Others like to hike alone. One man was followed by a cougar for nearly an hour this past week but managed to chase it away with a big stick. He was fortunate. Vaccination entails a very small risk, but the risk of not getting vaccinated is many times greater because Covid is extremely contagious and deadly for some people. Even if one survives it, it often causes serious bodily harm to parts of the body. If we don't get vaccinated we are also contributing to the continuation of the pandemic which could kill other people because unless enough people get vaccinated in a community or country, we will not be able to develop herd immunity. So the answer is get vaccinated as soon as possible. -
You would be surprised what I know about science. I know a number of things like the big bang and evolution are purely speculation and unproven. Science does not claim to have all the answers and never did make such a claim. When it comes to the origin of the universe, there is absolutely no evidence or proof that God did not create it ten or fifteen thousand years ago, with an apparent age built it. Many of the greatest scientists in history believed in God. They could see the evidence of God's creation all around them and just accepted it.

Jesus said "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32 KJB When I say I already know the truth, I am referring to the basic truth according to the Bible, and because of that, Jesus said I am free. "28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." Hebrews 9:28 KJB I am not judged and going to hell, but I am on the way to heaven. Jesus promised this. So your claim is contrary to what Jesus said and is false.

The Liberal government is Canada's biggest problem
blackbird replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Trudeau just claimed "scientists say we face an EXISTENTIAL threat". This is an outrageously false statement and extreme fear mongering and alarmism. I seriously doubt many scientists would make a statement like that which means human life will end (due to climate change). Thousands of scientists do not even believe in man-made climate change. They would be shocked that a leader of a developed western country would make a claim that our existence is threatened by climate change. Climate has always changed and is simply a natural process as part of God's creation. Tragic for Canadians that we have political leaders who put the radical climate change agenda above the well being of Canadians and are destroying the prosperity and jobs of Canadians and are not willing to study and read opposing points of view. After the economy and well-being Canadians has been slashed (sacrifice they call it) and at some point they see that China, Russia, and much of the rest of the world is just carrying on as normal and the climate will not be controlled by mankind.
