The government of Norway reviewed Canada's MAID system when considering whether to expand the assisted dying laws they already had. After examining Canada's experience, they decided not to move forward with it, citing Canada's rapid expansion and the slippery slope controversies of offering it to those with mental illness. They concluded that expanding assisted dying was not compatible with Norway's ethical and social framework. This was before Canada recent foray into expanding it to children. Sounds like Norway actually gives a shit about their citizens' welfare.

The Irish people have risen up against their government. What started as a fuel tax protest, has grown into more grievances - taxation, immigration, the general failure of the government to look after the people. They had a No Confidence vote, but the government still stands by a narrow margin. The people are not letting up, though. The Irish government announced, like Carney, that they would cut 10 cents a liter on gas and the Irish people told them to get stuffed. I wonder if the Irish government has just explained to the people how increasing carbon taxes every year doesn't actually affect the price of anything? That worked in Canada.......

Honestly, this sounds a lot like Canada.

I haven't seen anyone mention what's going on in Ireland right now. What started as fuel tax protests has erupted into much more. It's now grievances on taxation, immigration, cost of living, the general failure of the government to care about the people. Been going on about 8 days now. I've only seen one vague article on CBC from 2 days ago. But this morning, there was a No Confidence vote in parliament and the government held on, but just barely. One MP quit and encouraged others to do so also, due to their massive failings in governing.

You know what would be funny? If Carney keeps beaking off globally about Trump and then Trump revokes his family visa and freezes his bank accounts. 🤣
