America under President Trump
?Impact replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Actually it was quite the opposite. CNN reported about inaccuracies in the document, making it less credible. Instead of being rude to CNN at the press conference, Trump should have thanked them. -
I fell off my chair reading that.

Wouldn't that be 'Go0d' and 'o' respectively?

Putting out unverified documents is not something the media should do, and BuzzFeed did it this once and clearly stated that it was unverified. Alex Jones on the other hand does this dozens of times daily, and then goes on to build narratives around it as though it were verified. Since Donald Trump praises Alex Jones "Your reputation is amazing. I will not let you down", he has absolutely nothing to complain about here. -
Another example of Religion in Public Schools

Any Muslim, Christian, etc. club should be held to the exact same standards as any Political club (e.g. young Liberals, campus Conservatives, etc.), any other special interest club (chess, robotics, etc.) or any sports club (soccer, volleyball, etc.). If they are required to find a faculty advisor, then that needs to be held equally to all. If they have to have minimum enrolment, then so be it. If they get access to school facilities (meeting place, gym, etc.) then so be it. If they have to have their sermons or speeches pre-screened, then so be it. The point is there needs to be equality. This decision by the Peel Regional board to screen sermons on Tuesday for Friday means that any speech made at a political club must also be pre-screened 3 days prior to being delivered. -

I don't think the Russian mafia is required to file its loan portfolio with the US regulatory agencies. Trump's debt inside the US however are at least $1.5 billion, five times what he claimed. -

Will Donald Sutherland do? He is the highest paid actor in the world. He certainly speaks out for environmental issues (among other things). I don't know what 'hates big oil' really means, certainly there is some conflict between big oil and some environmental concerns if that is what you are getting at. -
To be fair, the private server that is being reference was one belonging to the Trump organization in NYC. It supposedly is used for marketing purposes by Trump Hotels, but generally marketing efforts are to a broad spectrum of people. This server had almost 90% of its traffic from Alfa bank in Russia, and the rest with Spectrum Health in Michigan. Some of the leaders of Alfa bank are alleged to have close ties with Vladimir Putin.

Canadian women to march in America against Trump.

You are quite right. They should simply bug his hotel room and hack his email, and then use the evidence they gather to make him their puppet. -
How does one reconcile Trump saying this was confidential information that should never have been disclosed, with his allegation that it is fake news. Which is it?

Kevin O'Leary & Pierre-Karl Péladeau

He grew up in the 60's, that was well before the days of French immersion. I don't know what part of Montreal he grew up in, but there are many sections that had large English populations. While today most people growing up in Montreal are well exposed to French in school, and it is far more difficult to get by without it, that was not the situation years ago. He is about 5-6 years older than me, and I learned and used far more French when I moved to Europe than I did growing up in Montreal. -
Esteban Santiago, a U.S. citizen and Iraq War combat veteran, told the FBI voices were urging him to fight for ISIS before he allegedly gunned down 13 people, killing five, at a Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport baggage claim carousel. Santiago, 26, is a former U.S. Army Reservist, born in New Jersey. The shooter – whose troubled behavior had already drawn the attention of the FBI, Army, and Anchorage police – arrived Friday afternoon at the busy airport on a flight from Alaska, with the gun used in the shooting properly stored in his checked baggage. Earlier reports he flew through Canada turned out to be false. He took Delta Flight no. 1088 from Anchorage to Minneapolis and then Delta flight no. 2182 from Minneapolis to Fort Lauderdale. Someone with mental illness, most likely brought on by serving in combat for the US Army. Someone who they already suspected was allowed to check a gun onto a plane. Yes, lets blame the 'Muslims' and ignore the American gun nutter culture and incompetence of US authorities. Love it how they tried to pin this one on Canada, this is just more incompetent Americans.

The most distant remote point in PEI is 160 miles from Moncton, and for the bulk of the island population it is less than 100 miles. Are you telling me there is no place in the US that is more than 100 miles from an abortion clinic? Ever been to Ely, Nevada. How about Wyoming or Montana. -
Clinton was born and raised in Chicago. Yes as a young girl, politically active at age 13, she was a republican Goldwater girl. She became a Democrat when she was 21.

How many of his 'vacations' were ones that added a plane trip? I count this one to the Bahamas. Most of the others were in places he already needed to be due to his job, for example he had a number of scheduled meetings/appearances in Vancouver and went a day earlier to ski Whistler.
-
I have dozens of vacations year. Every time I go skiing, canoeing for a weekend, add a couple of days to business trip to California so I can hike in Yosemite, head to the links, etc. then that is a vacation according to the anti-Trudeau gang.

Not allowed to get on the plane for being "Turk"
?Impact replied to Altai's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That sounds very, very fishy because there is no way the suitcases would be allowed on the plane if he is not. There is some leeway for domestic flights, but for international flights the plane will be held up and the bag removed if the passenger does not clear the gate. -
You mean the Supreme Governor of the Church of England, not the head of the Anglican Church. The head of the Church of England is the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Supreme Governor's role is similar to our Governor General, although with respect to the Church. It is for the most part ceremonial. From a practical standpoint, the Queen (Supreme Governor) appoints high-ranking members of the church on the advice of the Prime Minister who in turn is advised by church leaders

You have black brothers and sisters as well, unless of course you are a member of the Northern Foundation like Stephen Harper.

Everything is relative. Yes, Nigeria has progressed well since about 2001 but it has a long ways to go. Currently the GDP per capita is only 5% that of Canada.

The Line Fences Act is one of Ontario’s most historic pieces of legislation that provides a local method of arbitrating fencing disputes between neighbouring property owners. The Act applies where one owner wants to construct, repair or maintain a fence on a property boundary line, but is unable to reach agreement with the other owner on the type of fence to be erected, the sharing of the costs of the fence, or both of these issues. I guess Trump needs to grovel to the United Nations and request they create a Line Fences Act. -
Still Going to Buy the F-35, Really?
?Impact replied to Hoser360's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't know what all the hubbub is about the F-35 helmet, why deep sea divers have been using those helmets for a century.
