Barack The Magic Negro? Heard this song?
Shady replied to gordiecanuk's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Thought police and completely wrong. The intention of the song was to degrade and belittle the media, and to a lesser extent, Sharpton, Jackson, etc. Read the lyrics, or listen to the song. It couldn't be more clear. Not at all. The satire isn't directed at Obama, but the media and old so-called leaders of African-American's who've been passed by, by Obama's ascention in politics. Case in point: -
Dan Rather vs Draft Dodger Bush
Shady replied to Progressive Tory's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This topic gets a big, who cares. Clinton was a draft dodger, and Joe Biden received more deferments from the draft than Dick Cheney. But again, who cares, it doesn't mean anything. Let Dan Rather file his lawsuit and get his 15 minutes of fame from it. I could care less, but that's just my opinion. -
Toyota Forecasts Its First Operating Loss in 71 Years
Shady replied to kuzadd's topic in The Rest of the World
Not true. In 2007 both Toyota and GM sold the same number of cars. Toyota posted a $17 billion dollar profit, while GM posted a $38 billion dollar loss. -
$1.6 billion went to bailed-out bank executives
Shady replied to kuzadd's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Please explain this so-called deregulation that occurred under their watch, and how it forced banks and lenders into lowering credit standards, as to give the poor and disadvantaged access to 'affordable housing.' Those damn Republicans, always bending the rules for the good of the poor! -

Me thinks you'll be hearing plenty about her after she's in the United States senate, or wins the Iowa caucus in 2012. -
$1.6 billion went to bailed-out bank executives
Shady replied to kuzadd's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I had no idea house Republicans were forcing banks and lenders into mortgages for the poor under the guise of 'affordable housing.' I also had no idea that Republicans were defending the behavior of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. And I had no idea former Republicans were running such grand institutions such as Mac and Mae, and City Bank, and Goldman Sachs. Those damn Republicans, always fighting for the poor and disadvantaged! -

Yes, meaningless debate crutches such as "Palin is dumb" and "Palin thinks God is talking to her." I'm glad we both agree. -
Global Warming Happening on all Planets

Red faces at NASA over climate-change blunder In the United States, the calendar year 1998 ranked as the hottest of them all – until someone checked the math. After a Toronto skeptic tipped NASA this month to one flaw in its climate calculations, the U.S. agency ordered a full data review. Days later, it put out a revised list of all-time hottest years. The Dust Bowl year of 1934 now ranks as hottest ever in the U.S. – not 1998. More significantly, the agency reduced the mean U.S. "temperature anomalies" for the years 2000 to 2006 by 0.15 degrees Celsius. Link The world has never seen such freezing heat Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), which is run by Al Gore's chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, and is one of four bodies responsible for monitoring global temperatures, announced that last month was the hottest October on record. This was startling. Across the world there were reports of unseasonal snow and plummeting temperatures last month, from the American Great Plains to China, and from the Alps to New Zealand. China's official news agency reported that Tibet had suffered its "worst snowstorm ever". In the US, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month, and ranked it as only the 70th-warmest October in 114 years. The reason for the freak figures was that scores of temperature records from Russia and elsewhere were not based on October readings at all. Figures from the previous month had simply been carried over and repeated two months running. Link One also has to question the motives of people in charge of this so-called science. Was it a mistake? Probably. But when you find out that people heading these projects are Al Gore's cheif scientifc ally for instance, some questions arise, as well as concerns. Especially when countries around the world are forming policy based on their so-called findings. -

I never said that Republican's weren't to blame as well. President Bush, and Sen. McCain (who could have stood up to the pork he claims to hate) are also complicit. However, it's the Dems that control the house and the senate. They're ultimately responsible for writing this legislation. And they're ultimately responsible for the lack of oversight and transparency. With power comes responsibility. -
Toyota Forecasts Its First Operating Loss in 71 Years
Shady replied to kuzadd's topic in The Rest of the World
Toyota, etc are in much better shape than any of the big 3. They may have to tighten their belt, like most businesses for the next 6 months to a year, but they're in no danger. If you're trying to equate Ford, GM, and Chrysler's cirumstance with Toyota, you couldn't be more wrong. GM employs about 96,000 workers, but is paying healthcare for over a million people. As well as being the world's largest private buyer of viagra. Not good things if you strive to be a successful business. -

Even CNN is questioning the science of so-called global warming. Interesting. The 13th century was about 7 degrees warmer than it is now. I wonder if it was all those SUV's and coal plants? -

Sarah Palin's Walk To The Senate
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Come now people. Please don't let your Palin Derangement Syndrome affect your behavior, especially during the Christmas season. Of course she's an intelligent person, with ambition and talent. On her own, with out the backing of any high profile politicians, or relying on any high profile family names (Kennedy, Bush, Clinton), she won political office in city government, mayor, and governor of her state. No, she wasn't steeped in federal/Washington politics, and it showed in various forms during the campaign. Some of her achievements as Governor and Mayor include cutting property taxes by 75%, a $1300 dollar tax rebate to every Alaskan, negotiating large concessions for big oil, negotiating large scale natural gas pipeline, and shaping an $11 billion dollar budget, including 29,000 employees. Like it or not, she has a clear, and easy path to the senate. Where she could become a powerful voice for Republicans, and eventually the senate itself. I know she's not a lawyer, and I know she's not a millionaire, but there's already plenty of those in congress already, including two in the White House. "We worship an awesome God." -- Obama "I felt I heard God's spirit beckoning me." -- Obama "I won't be fulfilling God's will unless I go out and do the Lord's work." -- Obama "Faith is what propels me to do what I do and when I am down it’s what lifts me up." -- Obama "God is with us and He wants us to do the right thing." -- Obama "There is nothing that can stop us because that’s God’s intention." -- Obama "I am an instrument of God's will." -- Obama -

Exactly. Thanks to Democrat operative's illegal behavior, Joe will have plenty of money to buy or start his business. How ironic! -
And Away Goes Trouble
Shady replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Wow, it's a good thing you asked for help. Joe the plumber is a regular guy, who had the audacity to ask the messiah, Lord Barack Obama, peace be upon him, a tough question. Uneducated? How so? unlicensed? You don't need a license for residential plumbing in Ohio, only industrial plumbing. And he was looking to start or buy his own business, which would make a gross income of $250,000 a year. And Obama's Democrat operatives in the Ohio government decided to illegally search his background for dirt. Apparently for Dems, having government conduct illegal searches on regular citizens for political reasons is just fine, but when Bush wants to conduct wiretapping of domestic and foreign terrorists, he's "shredding the constitution." -

Obama's Reponse To Tough Questions From Press Corps

Republican Primaries Senate Murkowski 31 Palin 55 General election Murkowski ® 49 Knowles (D) 41 Palin ® 53 Knowles (D) 39 Link Run for re-election as Governor of Alaska, or run and win easily and become a powerful voice in the United States Senate? Tough decision. I'd personally like to see her wait, serve a second term as Governor, and then kick out the Democrat currently renting Ted Stevens' old seat.

Al Franken is Challenging This Ballot
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Just one example. On Ramsey County's last recount day, 171 previously uncounted ballots were discovered, from which Al Franken gained a potentially game-changing 37 net new votes. Like so much of the Minnesota Senate race, the ballots came with their own controversy as well. It appears that the total number of discovered ballots exceeds the number of people who voted on election day or with an absentee ballot by about 31. Link This is 'vote early, vote often' taken to a new level. -
Al Franken is Challenging This Ballot
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Not true. I never said he didn't have a chance of winning (stealing). As long as they kept "finding" new votes, he always had a chance. But I've got to hand it to the Democrat political machine in Minnesota. They held true to their axiom of counting the votes as many times, as many ways, until you find one which puts you ahead. Then you claim victory. And it looks as though it just might have worked in this case. But I guess we'll see. -

Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Yes, how convenient. It looks as though all of the "boxes of votes" found over the past few weeks has begun to pay off. Folks, what you're seeing here, is the stealing of a Senate seat, in real time. How many more "misplaced" votes will be found in the "trunks of cars" and "basements of church's" before the count is over? -

Well, that's where you're wrong again. He was definitely talking to Canadians, as well as 'citizens of the world', to quote his big speech in Germany. People of Berlin – people of the world – this is our moment. This is our time. - Barack Obama
