Yet Another Tax Cheat Appointed By Obama

The honeymoon is definitely over! Gibbs may end up having the shortest career as a White House spokesperson in history. -
Yet Another Tax Cheat Appointed By Obama
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
And it just keeps going... Husband of Rep. Solis, Labor nominee, settles tax liens WASHINGTON — The husband of President Obama's Labor secretary nominee paid about $6,400 Wednesday to settle tax liens that had been outstanding for as long as 16 years against his business, the Obama administration told USA TODAY this afternoon. Yet Another Tax Cheat Appointed By Obama
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Hmm, I'd say it's you, who knows nothing. Support for the economic recovery plan working its way through Congress has fallen again this week. For the first time, a plurality of voters nationwide oppose the $800-billion-plus plan. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 37% favor the legislation, 43% are opposed, and 20% are not sure. Rasmussen Looks like your opinions are based on old data. You gotta stay up to date in this business son. Exactly. But the mainstream media was obsessed with a rookie as a possible Vice President, meanwhile, a rookie as President made them yawn. That's incorrect. They knew about all of their tax problems. That's why Geithner paid his unpaid taxes shortly before he was chosen. And Daschle's tax issues were known since June. -
Yet Another Tax Cheat Appointed By Obama
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That's assuming Howard Dean actually pays his taxes! Which for Democrats, is anything but a sure bet. And does anyone remember Joe Biden's insistence that paying taxes is patriotic? Using his logic, I wouldn't consider it a big stretch to proclaim Tom Daschle, Tim Geithner, Nancy Killefer, Al Franken, Caroline Kennedy, and Charlie Rangel (who's probably the biggest crook of the bunch) unpatriotic. Question: Which is the bigger joke? Nancy Pelosi's claim of "the most ethical Congress ever", or Obama's claim of "a new era of responsibility?" Either way, they both make you want to puke. Prediction: If the Democrats pass the stimulus bill (I know, I'm using the term stimulus quite loosely) as it exists in its current form, Republicans take back the house in the mid-term elections, and make big gains in the senate. -
I didn't want to have to start another topic in the case of Daschle, so I posted his "misfortune" in the Geithner thread. But this is getting ridiculous now, and moved past comical long ago. Performance czar withdraws candidacy WASHINGTON (AP) - Nancy Killefer, who failed for a year and a half to pay employment taxes on household help, has withdrawn her candidacy to be the first chief performance officer for the federal government, the White House said Tuesday. Killefer was the second major Obama administration nominee to withdraw and the third to have tax problems complicate their nomination after President Barack Obama announced their selection. "Nancy Killefer has decided to withdraw her nomination, and we accepted her withdrawal," Tommy Vietor, a White House spokesman, said Tuesday. The 55-year-old executive with consulting giant McKinsey & Co., was expected to explain her reasons for pulling out later in the day Link Does this Administration do any vetting at all? And even worse, do any of them actually pay their taxes, like the rest of us? Someone said recently, that it's obvious why liberals don't care about rasing taxes, because they don't pay them regardless. I'm beginning to agree. Democrats. They don't pay taxes, and they spend other people's money. Quite a scam they have going for themselves.

Here's some more Hope n Change for you Obama supporters. Obama preserves renditions as counter-terrorism tool Reporting from Washington -- The CIA's secret prisons are being shuttered. Harsh interrogation techniques are off-limits. And Guantanamo Bay will eventually go back to being a wind-swept naval base on the southeastern corner of Cuba. But even while dismantling these programs, President Obama left intact an equally controversial counter-terrorism tool. Under executive orders issued by Obama recently, the CIA still has authority to carry out what are known as renditions, secret abductions and transfers of prisoners to countries that cooperate with the United States. LA Times I can already see the outrage. And I can already see the movies, and books being filmed and written. as they were during the Bush Administration. But in reality, we all know that there won't be any books, and there won't be any movies, and there won't even be any outrage. Because the left is completely hypocritical and intellectually dishonest. I, however, am completely consistent. I agree with the practice of rendition, and believe that Obama is doing the right and responsible thing. Just as I agree with the missile attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan (sarcasm and satire seemed to have escaped some of you in another thread).

Once again you choose to dodge the real issue. I think the American taxpayers deserve the same kind of tax holiday that Geithner and Daschle received. How about a Geithner/Daschle tax holiday provision for everyone, in the otherwise giant debacle know as the economic stimulus package? Also, how many more tax cheats is Obama going to appoint to his administration? And if you find this forum lame, then leave.

Instead of creating a new topic thread for a new Obama tax cheat, I figured I'd just build on an existing one. Obama's HHS Secretary Nominee Faces Tax Questions Over Car and Driver ABC News has learned that the nomination of former Senator Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-SD, to be President Obama’s Secretary of Health and Human Services has hit a traffic snarl on its way through the Senate Finance Committee. The controversy deals with a car and driver lent to Mr. Daschle by a wealthy Democratic friend, a chauffer service the former Senator used for years without declaring their use on his taxes. ABC News

Obama Kills 16 Civilians In Afghanistan
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
After taking a few minutes to peruse some of the responses in this thread, I have identified several which desperately need my attention. However, I am unfortunately quite busy until friday. But rest assured that a detailed rebuttal is just a few days away. One can only hope, that until then, even more innocent Afghan civilians don't become the brutal victims of Obama's war machine, and his so-called "war on terror." -
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - President Hamid Karzai condemned a U.S. operation he said killed 16 Afghan civilians, while hundreds of villagers denounced the American military during an angry demonstration Sunday. Karzai said the killing of innocent Afghans during U.S. military operations "is strengthening the terrorists." AP Not only does he kill 16 innocent civilians, but he also kills several Taliban or Al Qaeda without any trial. If he thinks Gitmo's existence creates terrorists for Al Qaeda, what does he think the results of military actions such as these will be? And will anyone dare question the Messiah for speaking out of both sides of his mouth? On second thought, even if somebody dared ask him, he'd probably just insist they don't waste their time, and ask a different question.

Obama's Reponse To Tough Questions From Press Corps
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
*UPDATE* Obama flashes irritation in press room visit President Obama made a surprise visit to the White House press corps Thursday night, but got agitated when he was faced with a substantive question. Asked how he could reconcile a strict ban on lobbyists in his administration with a Deputy Defense Secretary nominee who lobbied for Raytheon, Obama interrupted with a knowing smile on his face. "Ahh, see," he said, "I came down here to visit. See this is what happens. I can't end up visiting with you guys and shaking hands if I'm going to get grilled every time I come down here." Politico How dare you ask the Messiah a very substantive and significant question! However, like in the previous case, he will probably allow you to ask a different question as to not make you waste your opportunity. Hope n Change '09. -
Well said, and way too logical for some to understand. He wasn't dragged to a terrorist training camp kicking and screaming, that's forsure.
-
Wrong. If Obama fails, and income taxes aren't raised, and corporate taxes aren't raised, and capital gains taxes aren't raised, and trillions of dollars that the country doesn't have isn't borrowed and spent, then the economy will recover, as it always has after every single recession. And in a way, by Obama failing, he succeeds.
-
Oh, and was his writing off of his children's summer camp as business expenses also blamed on working for the IMF? Just because he's confirmed, doesn't mean he's not a tax cheat. And yes, we all need to be welcomed to the new left, hope n change. Where treasury secretaries don't pay their taxes, attorney generals pardon crooks and terrorists, and commerce secretaries need to withdraw over pay to play scandals. A new era of responsibility!

Palin Unveils Statewide Green Energy Plan

Gee. That might have been a good question to ask about Mr. Obama's vast political promises, which also included similar energy plans. -
Caroline Kennedy Tabbed As Clinton Replacement
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
His approval rating has been dropping over the past several months, including a 10 point drop from November to January. His only hope from dipping down to the 40's is to not nominate Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg. If he chooses Cuomo, he could stop the bleeding, at least for a while. -
Caroline Kennedy Tabbed As Clinton Replacement
Shady replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Apparently there's breaking news that claims she's not removing her self from consideration. Either way, Paterson has dismal approval ratings, and will lose to Rudy if he indeed decides to run for Governor of NY, like some think he will. -
Obama's Inaugural Speech
Shady replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I thought the speech was solid. However, there were some contradictions within it. What I found abhorrent was the prayer following Obama's address, asking "when white will embrace what is right." -
You guys aren't very bright are you? And it's really not a very difficult concept to grasp. But I'll try and dumb it down, in hopes that you understand more easily. If Obama succeeding means higher taxes, larger government, and softer defense, then of course most conservatives won't be part of the love affair. I hope this explaination helps.

Sarah Palin's renewable ambition Gov. Sarah Palin has crossed swords with conservation groups over petroleum drilling, but she earned nothing but praise Friday after announcing the most ambitious renewable energy goals in the nation. At a news conference announcing her statewide energy plan, Palin called for 50 percent of Alaska's power to be generated by renewable resources by 2025. The goal addresses both urban Alaska, including Anchorage, Fairbanks and other cities that make up the Railbelt, and the hundreds of Alaska villages off the road system and power grid. Palin called for six state utilities that serve most of the population to stop traditional infighting and take a regional approach for new power generation projects that could lower costs. Link Sarah Palin the Governor of Alaska, and Energy Czar of the United States of America. Seriously, who cannot be impressed? She continues to add to her resume of accomplishments, and will continue to build momentum for higher political office. A second term as Governor, perhaps a seat in the United States Senate....or who knows what else?

CAROLINE THE 'CERTAIN' DESPITE claims that he's still undecided, Gov. Paterson is "certain" to pick Caroline Kennedy to replace Hillary Rodham Clinton in the US Senate, several unhappy contenders for the job have told friends and associates in recent days. NY Post It looks as though it's almost official, that Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg will be picked as Hillary Clinton's replacement in the United States Senate. I'm sure she's a fine person, and has done great work in her several causes. However, she's clearly unqualified, and lacks any kind of political fire in her belly. And I'm sure most everyone will agree, that if it wasn't for her family name, there'd be no way she'd achieve such a job by herself.

Obama's Inauguration - and First Speeches/Travel
Shady replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You're so right. It amazes me that American pharmaceutical companies are so reviled. The world lives off of drugs and therapies researched and developed by Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Eli Lilly, etc (12 of the world's top 20 are American), while paying a small fraction of the cost to develop such drugs and therapies. After they're developed, the world produces its own generic versions, while letting American companies, and American taxpayers pay the real costs of the research and development of new innovations. And the same can be said of embryonic stem cell research. America spends more money and resources, both public and private, than any other country in the world, but it isn't enough. People of the world want the free, or next to free medical breakthroughs damn it! So let America be the one to spend the billions of dollars. And let America take on the moral and ethical challenges of such research. Create as much life in order to destroy it for medical reasons, and who cares if there's any questions of morality, the people of the world have spoken! They want the benefits without having to participate in any of the risks.
