  1. That's within the margin of error. Again, you might want to actually site a source that backs up your argument, not undermines it. And it's a little different then the 70% you suggested just 3 days ago, don't you think?
  2. Hmmm, I guess that's the same number of complaints I find on your behalf of Obama's bailout bill. And if there was a Bush bailout plan, I would have definitely criticized it. Unfortunately, the only plan you seem to be referencing, is this one: Pic 1 To summarize: Pelosi/Reid/Paulson bill = BAD!!! Obama/Pelosi/Reid Stimulus bill = WORSE!!! The so-called Bush bailout was written by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. They control congress, they write the legislation. Pic 2 (that's the actual signing photo-op from back in the fall)
  3. Yes I do. 44%, so still less than half of those polled oppose the porkulus bill. Again, you really need to actually read the polls before you post them as some sort of argument backer.
  4. More "change we can believe in." Raytheon Lobbyist Lynn Confirmed as Deputy Defense Secretary Feb. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Raytheon Co. executive William Lynn was confirmed today by the U.S. Senate to become the Defense Department’s second-highest-ranking civilian. He was a registered lobbyist until March 2008. Bloomberg So much for Obama's promise. Hope n change. "When I'm President, Lobbyists won't find a job in my White House." -- Barack Obama, during campaign.
  5. What happened to "Change We Can Believe In?"
  6. First, let's go back to November, when Obama's Chief Of Staff, Rahm Emanuel said the following: EMANUEL: You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. What I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before. This is an opportunity. What used to be long-term problems -- be they in the health care area, energy area, education area, fiscal area, tax area, regulatory reform area -- things that we had postponed for too long that were long-term are now immediate and must be dealt with. And this crisis provides the opportunity for us, as I would say, the opportunity to do things that you could not do before. Thanks to the good fortune of having a serious crisis placed in their laps, they've been able to accomplish the following: An unprecedented spending bill, almost $1 trillion dollars, loaded with expansive government programs and bureaucracy, all in the guise of economic stimulus. AND An unprecedented move of the U.S census from the Department of Commerce where its ALWAYS been, over to the White House under their control. It's scary stuff, and unfortunately it's probably only the beginning.
  7. No, it's not recent. Polls don't take years to conduct. The poll is more than 2 weeks old, so pretty much useless.
  8. No. But I really liked the idea for a bumper sticker or t-shirt, and better yet, a signature.
  9. January 28th is a new poll?
  10. I think that's a dangerous road to go down. I was recently reading that President Obama thanked them for their patriotism, as if those not supporting the stimulus in its current form aren't being patriotic. Isn't that the same type of thing Democrats, and critics of the last President had problems with? Not supporting him was deemed "unpatriotic." In this case, you're defining these Republicans as heros for standing up for what they presumably believe, but others, who also are standing up for what they believe, aren't heros. I don't think that's correct. Very good topic though!
  11. What in God's name are you talking about?
  12. Probably as long as the website you're referencing (armchairsubversive) provides them. Which, seeing as you're going back 5, 10, 50, and 100 years, could be long, as it also is with Democrats. And unfortunately, it sounds as though this topic gives you a bit of a thrill up your leg, which is very disturbing.
  13. No, that's ok, you can find somebody else to satisfy your fetish. Posting non-working links, and stories referencing incidents from 80 years ago is a little too deranged even for me. Ask somebody else.
  14. Or...maybe I posted my replies to prove Republican derangement syndrome.
  15. We could go back and forth, so I'm not sure what the purpose of this topic is suppose to be. Democrat Operative Arraigned on Child Porn Charges Scott W. 17. Yes, let's remember our other options shall we? Democrat Mayor Of Hartford Arrested For Bribery HARTFORD, Conn. 18. Of course people want a stimulus. That doesn't mean they want the disaster, pork ridden bill that Obama, Reid and Pelosi have cooked up. 1* Generally speaking, do increases in government spending help the economy, hurt the economy, or have no impact on the economy? 35% Help 48% Hurt 7% No impact 10% Not sure 2* Generally speaking, do decreases in government spending help the economy, hurt the economy, or have no impact on the economy? 45% Help 29% Hurt 16% No impact 10% Not sure 3* As Congress debates the economic stimulus plan initially proposed by President Obama, would you like to see the plan include more tax cuts and less government spending, more government spending and less tax cuts, or would you rather see the plan pass pretty much as it is today? 62% More tax cuts and less government spending 14% More government spending and less tax cuts 20% Pass pretty much as it is today 5% Not sure Rasmussen In fact, the popularity of Obama's stimulus package is dropping so fast, he's doing a media blitz, including a primetime television press conference just to save it.
  19. You might wanna actually read a poll before posting it. The 70% approval isn't for the stimulus, but for how Obama is handling the efforts to get a stimulus passed. I shouldn't have to do your homework for you. Anyways, on to more of the tax cheats. Slumdogs Unite! This includes Timothy Geithner, the Treasury secretary. Washington hands repeatedly observe how “lucky” Geithner was to be the first cabinet nominee with an I.R.S. problem, not the second, and therefore get confirmed by Congress while the getting was good. Whether or not this is “lucky” for him, it is hardly lucky for Obama. Geithner should have left ahead of Daschle. But he still has not satisfactorily explained why, as president of the New York Fed, he failed in his oversight of the teetering Wall Street institutions. Nor has he told us why, in his first major move in his new job, he secured a waiver from Obama to hire a Goldman Sachs lobbyist as his chief of staff. Nor, in his confirmation hearings, did he prove any more credible than the Bush Treasury secretary, the Goldman Sachs alumnus Hank Paulson, in explaining why Lehman Brothers was allowed to fail while A.I.G. and Citigroup were spared. The New York Times
  20. I know the first part wasn't directed toward me, but I wanted to respond anyways. It's ok that your left bias influences your views. My right bias also influences mine. I'd rather have people come out, and explain where they stand, then hide behind some pseudo-objectivity, which some tend to do. My biggest problem with Obama's economic stimulus package, is that he, for whatever reason, decided to let Pelosi and Reid have much too much influence, and they ran with it, and created a complete disaster.
  21. Come'on people, let's call it like it is. These people were totally irresponsible. Afterall, if that was the case made against Sarah Palin for choosing to have a child at the age of 43, then this is irresponsibility times a thousand. You people could at least try to be consistent.
  22. Comedy relief is one of the main reasons why I listen so intently to Obama. His insistence of change in Washington, and a new era of responsibility, as well as a new high standard of government ethics, when juxtaposed to his appointments of tax cheats, pay to play politicians, and super lobbyists is about as funny as it gets. And obviously, some of the kool-aid drinkers in this forum, are still unable to see past his David Koresh/Jim Jones cult of personality. However, here's a bit of advice. If there's ever a group toast of a blue liquid, or a spaceship to walk to, just say no. A third of a billion dollars for STD prevention in an economic stimulus package is not change you can believe in. $200 thousand dollars for lobster cameras in an economic stimulus package is not change you can believe in. $650 million for the digital television converter box coupons in an economic stimulus package is not change you can believe in. $75 million for smoking cessation programs in an economic stimulus package is not change you can believe in. $1.2 billion for youth activities in an economic stimulus package is not change you can believe in. $160 million for paid volunteers at the Corporation for National and Community Service in an economic stimulus package is not change you can believe in. $100 million for reducing the hazard of lead-based paint in an economic stimulus package is not change you can believe in. And $80 billion dollars in income tax rebates, for people who don't pay income taxes is not change you can believe in.
  23. It's not my fault that nominee, after nominee, after nominee, has the same, or similar problems.
  24. Especially when the President continues to appoint corrupt people to his administration, and continues to break his "no lobbyists" in government rules.
