  1. I know, how scary would it have been to have Sarah Palin as VP? Imagine her being incharge of energy and special needs children issues, while once in a blue moon breaking a tie in the senate. Again, you're quite misinformed. Stem cell research has been going on for a long, long, time. And there's a difference between stem cell research, and embryonic stem cell research. And there's also a difference between private sector stem cell research, and government funded stem cell research. There are no limits to private sector stem cell research and embryonic stem cell research. There are some limits to government funded embryonic stem cell research (you can't indefinitely create embryos for the sole purpose of destroying them for reasearch). Nope. The only bias that exists is in the mainstream media. Providing a couple of local television station stories, as oppose to the national media illustrates my point. And the estimated cost of Obama's inauguration is approaching $170 million dollars now. The story you provided was just the state of Maryland's estimated cost. Two entirely different things. Nice try though.
  2. Even if he wanted to, he can't. A President isn't a Monarch. He signs legislation, he doesn't write legislation. It's amazing how many Canadians have no concept of the checks and balances of the American form of democracy. Anyways, Obama has a vast number of brothers and sisters, and half-brothers and half-sisters. All of which have as much significance to me as Roger Clinton did.
  3. You're clearly uninformed. He received 4 million more votes than John F Kerry. Who by the way, served in Vietnam.
  4. And that's a fundamental misunderstanding of American government. The President doesn't have power over the other branches of government, it's an equal check. Not at all. After 8 years of President Bush, abortion hasn't changed. But yes, there are many who are concerned over the killing of innocent unborn children. Damn them to hell! Anyways, back to the immaculate inauguration. Has anyone else noticed the GIANT hyocrisy of the leftwing mainstream media? Back during Bush's inaugurations, they were obsessed over the cost, and if it was the right thing to be doing during troubled economic times. But apparently that's all been forgotten. There's no mention of the Messiah's inauguration costs (largest ever) during a massive economic recession. It doesn't seem to be an issue anymore. Hmmm, I wonder why?
  5. I absolutely agree. Fortunately, when it comes to Obama, all I'm consumed with is, truth, substance, and consistency. If you wanna see vile hatred, read through several of the Sarah Palin treads from a few months back.
  6. Wrong. My biggest annoyance with President Bush was his liberal spending habits. Unfortunately, over the next few years, Obama's gonna make him look like a piker. You know what he believes? Please fill in the rest of us, cause all I see him ever doing, is trying to be all things, to all people. Moistens his finger, and sticks it up in the air. Anyways, another thing I'm really looking forward to seeing at Obama's Immaculate Inauguration, is a reference in his speech to global warming, while everyone is hip deep in snow, and trying to survive the most brutal of cold temperatures.
  7. I'm looking forward to Obama's Immaculate Inauguration. I always enjoy these types of large historical political events, even if I feel luke warm at best towards the new President-elect. I agree with your assessment on the holes associated with Obama's outlook on terrorism, but, the holes in his assessment of economics may end up being more significant. I'm interested to hear his explaination of how borrowing and spending trillions of dollars will lead to great economic prosperity.
  8. That's what they're using it for. They have troops on the ground.
  9. I hope so.
  10. If it wasn't for terrorism, and Israel, liberals would hate Hamas, and have a rather negative opinion of Islam. But for whatever reasons, Israel's so-called occupation trumps Hamas' and Islam's total disregard of freedom and democracy, the complete subjugation of woman, and a total unacceptance of homosexuality, accompanied by the hanging and/or stoning of gays and lesbians. But damn those Jews! Nuke em! Meanwhile in Israel, you have freedom, democracy and human rights for all, women are empowered and equals in society, and gay pride parades are an annual occurance in Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities. It seems to me, that some of the so-called "progressives" in this forum need to do some serious self-examination. And why are some of you so suprised that innocent woman and children are killed during such hostilities? Hamas uses schools, mosques, and hospitals as weapon depots, and ambulances as transports, and some how you're shocked that the civilians Hamas is hiding behind, end up being injured or killed.
  11. Intelligence Court Rules Wiretapping Power Legal WASHINGTON — A federal intelligence court, in a rare public opinion, issued a major ruling validating the power of the President and Congress to wiretap international phone calls and intercept e-mail messages without a specific court order, even when Americans’ private communications may be involved New York Times Uh oh, looks like radical leftists are gonna be a tad bit upset. I love the smell of vindication in the morning!
  12. If one is on the do-not-call list, and receives a call, the person or group calling is suppose to be fined. From my own personal experience since going on that list, I've received many fewer calls than I did before. So for me, it's working fine. It may still need a few tweaks, but look on the bright side, at least it's not the billion dollar fiasco of a gun registry.
  13. And there's a little thing called a comma. Try using it in a post once in a while.
  14. New footage of protests from around Canada. Pretty much as disgusting as you can imagine.
  15. Is this the kind of "on the job training" you're talking about??? Geithner's risky oversight of Citigroup As president of the New York Federal Reserve Bank, Timothy Geithner often preached that gargantuan financial firms like Citigroup should be held to the highest regulatory standards to make sure they couldn’t take on too much risk. But when it came to supervising Citigroup in recent years, the record shows that the New York Fed eased the reins as the company blew billions on subprime mortgages and other risky deals that ultimately forced the biggest bank rescue in U.S. history Politico Because if it is....no thanks!
  16. You keep repeating that talking point, which is patently false. Government forcing banks and lenders into offering loans to people who wouldn't otherwise qualify isn't deregulation, it's Government interference in a free-market economy.
  17. LOL, you're so right. I love his assessment of "willing." Yes, he willingly paid back his taxes in which by law he's required to do, or face jail time. He chose not to go to jail, so apparently that's tantamount to willing.
  18. He failed his test miserably. He wants to be the head of the American treasury, but is either ignorant or incompetent when it comes to basic tax laws, and one's responsibility to them. The upcoming irony is delicious. A man who will succeed Paulson, who will be spending hundreds of billions of tax payer dollars on so-called stimulus, didn't pay his taxes for a period of 6 years. Hope n change! Which so-called de-regulation are you referring to? Which former regulations were de-regulated?
  19. America doesn't need a Treasury Secretary who makes "common mistakes."
  20. Also, because objective journalism died in 2008. They were too busy parachuting investigators into Wasilla to bother with Chicago.
  21. He paid his taxes the day he was chosen as Treasury Secretary, coincidence? Who knows how long he would have gone otherwise. I bet you his undocumented house keeper couldn't defer taxes for 6 years.
  22. The only thing that gets worse by the day are your posts. Rice serves at the pleasure of the Preisdent, as does any Secretary of State. If she's told to change the vote, she'll change the vote.
  23. Yeah, almost as bad as a Treasury Secretary (that oversees the IRS) not paying his taxes!!!!
