  1. He's a Toronto City Councillor. He was one of the guys that made up the "mighty middle" that got the budget cuts reversed and the transit city plan voted on. He even made news when Ford compared him and his associates to Stalin. He got the same radio spot as the Ford's get now on the same radio station. It's just that more people care what the Ford's say as opposed to him.
  2. Sorta like when people show up at polling stations with no valid form of ID or proof of residence. Here's a magazine that has my name on it. That proves I live in this riding God Damnit!
  3. Elections Canada make it very clear what you need to vote and where you are supposed to vote. If I got a call contradicting that information, I'd at least double check with the website or go to the polling station myself to make sure. And if you're poor and downtrodden and can't drive/walk yourself to the polling station, you can call one of the candidates and they'll be more than happy to send someone to pick you up to get the vote out.
  4. How the heck could that even happen? They keep the polls open 12 hours and once the polls close everyone in line still get to vote. Most polling stations are really close to where people live. Mine was a few blocks away so even if you believed it you would turn up and find out the alternate locations.
  5. So you'd call JFK and former President Clinton Cowards then.
  6. Yes. I'm not saying whoever did this calls weren't in the wrong. I'm just saying that overstating the effect this had on the election can't be proven because unless you're an imbecile you probably wouldn't have listened to the calls in the first place. If someone called you right now and said you owe the CRA money and you need to mail out a check right now. Would you do it?
  7. The only way they would be a success if the people affected were uninformed about how they should vote and how they are told where to vote. If they were first time voters then maybe that's an excuse but if you're in anyway informed you should know that the only way you know for sure where to vote is from Elections Canada.
  8. I don't. Adscam was regarding a political scandal and how Canadian taxpayer money was spent. This has to do with a certain minister saying something rather unfortunate. Had this been some hacker doing the vikileaks thing then fine he had it coming but if a Liberal staffer did it, it's pretty seedy stuff.
  9. Semantics. The story started getting interesting about Valentines Day. 2 weeks ago.
  10. Really? You have evidence that Canadians all over are still pissed at the Pedophile comment. He said that weeks ago, I'm sure most people couldn't care less about that statement now. And the political blowback from those comments has made the CPC go back to the drawing board on this legislation. So you guys kind of won.
  11. The Harper gumint is doing a happy dance today because this totally distracts away from Robocall. The NDP must be pissed.

  13. So they brought ORNGE choppers in to transport the wounded? I wonder if they pick-pocketed the survivors. Too soon?
  14. Unless it can be proven that races would have otherwise gone to the Liberals were swayed by these phone calls it would be hard to convince people that this election was somehow rigged. Also, if you're really interested in voting how dumb do you have to be to be swayed by a robotic phonecall. I get tons of them during election campaigns. If you're an informed citizen you should know that your polls are set by where you live and Elections Canada sends your voting info over the mail.
  15. Was it equally abhorrent in your mind when Josh Matilow hosted this same time slot for the past few months?
  16. http://thenextbarstool.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/wtf.jpg The hypothetical nature of the thread is what I find perplexing. It's like if I started a thread hypothetically saying the Quebec faction of the NDP will start their own party with Nationalist aims because it's obvious Bloc voters voted for them in the last election. WTF is there to say about that?
  17. You do this all the time. "I think _______ even though I have zero evidence to support my opinion therefore none of the other members can't debate my opinions. But that OK because it's how I feel and that's all that matters"
  18. Of course you have no evidence to support the fact that any faction of CPC MP's are unhappy with Harper's leadership.
  19. Not if they enjoy staying in power.
  20. What Bob Rae didn't want any of that? (It's only a matter of time before he spans the entire political spectrum right?) This is a stupid thread by a Harper hater. There's no way backbenchers are going to look to stab the PM in the back he's brought Conservatives back from the political wilderness. The only way you'd see this happen is if you saw two factions develop (eg. Team Chretien, Team Martin) There's no evidence that will happen.

  22. http://www.thestar.com/News/article/236628 Funny similar stuff was said in this article that was said after Ford lost the budget vote and the transit city vote. So without taxes that Toronto hadn't seen up until that point Miller basically said he'd have to take a hatchet to city services.
  23. Holy Crap!!! Something positive about the Ford Bros from the Star. http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1134772--dimanno-ford-lite-levels-a-heavy-blow You know there are people in the Anti-Ford community that wish he doesn't lose weight.
  24. If it's applicable then sure. I remember when council initially defeated David Miller's plan to introduce the Vehicle Registration Tax and the Land Transfer Tax he had a full blown meltdown and started threatening to cut TTC service right away.
