Catholic Teachers union wants to ban WI-FI at their schools
Boges replied to olpfan1's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
How would banning Wi-fi accomplish this? They didn't say they were banning the internet, just Wi-fi. -

I'm sure the Union cares more about their bennies and their ridiculously generous pension than what the Pope has to say. Also don't you think students can access the same information through hard-wired internet terminals as they would with Wifi? What type of information do you think they are trying to censor? -

Yes because the Union takes its marching orders directly from the Pope. Your hatred of religious organizations show no bounds olpfan1. -
Also anyone watching HBO's Luck or the Third Season of Spartacus. Sunday is a very crowded night of great TV.

Who liked last night's mid-season premiere? Not a lot of zombie killing but the payoff at the end was pretty cool. You can see Rick's narrative is going to change now. He's looking more like the dark character he becomes in the comic book. I believe this was the first actual human-on-human murder scene we've seen so far in the series. That Lori car accident thing seemed tacked on. Maybe she dies?!? She's not one of the best characters in the show.

NDP MP didn't pay any attention to the release of the census.

I didn't do it while being filmed though. -

Yeah the cleavage issue isn't really a slag on her. It's people thinking that showing the "girls" would be offensive to people in the South Asian Community that I find kinda weird. Then again you don't wear blouses that low-cut unless you want people to see your "assets". So don't act surprised when people have an opinion on your attire. As for the population issue, had a Conservative said that there'd be people analyzing how a member of the government can do their job properly when they don't even know how many people are in Canada. Remember when the 15-year-old kid went after Peter Kent for using internet speak on Twitter? -

You know what you're right, I totally whiffed on this thread. Still a funny story though. -
So will the sue Purell and Listerine next.

Yeah I know that's why it's cool. Had Actra had their way, the players and the crowd would have been Union members, making Union wages. I wonder what the hourly wage for pretending to give a shit about a Beer Leage Hockey game is. But they would have to ask the players permission to appear on TV after the fact. I'm sure if a player didn't really want to appear in the ad he could ask to be edited out.
-
I'm sure they had to sign a waiver to appear in the commercial. Just like with any form of "Reality TV" Apparently those idiots on Cops every week sign a waiver to show them being arrested. If I was one of those guys I'd be thrilled at the experience, I wouldn't be looking for a payout.

I don't know who watched the Super Bowl in Canada but there was this really cool ad where guys in a Beer League got "Flash Mobbed" Basically 600 fans showed and announcers started calling the game as if it was a big deal. Pretty cool stuff. Well Actra Toronto is pissed. http://www.newswire.ca/en/story/919673/budweiser-canada-is-not-the-king What's next? Demanding union wages to appear on the nightly news?

McDalton doesn't have the guts to do this. It'll piss off a lot of parents. Even Hudak realized that scrapping this would be unpopular and backed off during the election campaign. But to say that 4-year-olds need unionized teachers to teach them how to take naps and play outside is pretty wasteful.

I'm not sure why the Ford Bros think it's either 100% of our plan or stfu on this issue. It doesn't appear to be some horrible compromise. They're getting their way on most of the agenda here. But every small defeat makes people think he's losing control of the city.

My wife and I have been enjoying Bomb Girls. I like WW2 content a lot. It's a show about women at a munitions factory. And it's Can Con not produced by the CBC. It's a success and will get a second season. The first season was only 6 episodes. http://www.globaltv.com/bombgirls/index.html http://www.torontosun.com/2012/02/07/bomb-girls-to-get-second-season

The Costa Concordia is a symbol for anyone who doesn't like a certain group of politicians. I've hear people compare the Republican field and Obama to the idiot captain too.

SunTV gone from Rogers basic cable package
Boges replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Media and Broadcasting
Well that's a somewhat ignorant opinion. There are Liberal columnists in the Sun papers and Sun News has Liberal guests on its panel shows. The late day commentators are pretty much all conservative but they cover the news just like most outlets. -
It's pretty close but I'd still have given a defacto Extra-Point while only giving Brady less than 30 seconds to get into FG range over getting a TD on that play and giving Brady 57 yards to score.

Those sports aren't time related. I'm sure if you're up 5 rounds in a boxing match you're certainly going to play conservatively and not allow the opponent to knock you out. In Hockey if you're up 2 goals with 2 minutes left you put on your checking line, you don't put your snipers out there. In Basketball when you have the lead at the end of game you're not doing a full-court press and trying to get up the court as fast as you can, you run down the shot clock before you make a play. Should Football teams be airing it out with a minute left with the lead because that's the way the game should be played?
-
How is it any different from kneeling down at the end of the game to run down the clock? Tom Coughlin should have called the play that if they let him score, don't score.
-
Sorta like how Belicheat told his defense to let Bradshaw score? Eli told Bradshaw not to score during the handoff to it was hard for him to stop his instinct to score with all that momentum. Keep in mind, I believe it was 2nd down and the Pats had no timeouts. The Giants could have run 30 odd seconds off the clock on 3rd down before trying to score a TD on the one. Then a kick that's essentially an extra point if that run failed. kneeling down at the one was certainly giving them the best shot at winning in that circumstance.

Thanks Giselle. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2012/02/06/gisele-budnchen-blames-husband-tom-bradys-receivers-for-super-bowl-loss/ Please post pics.

The ball was also clearly underthrown. From what I've seen about the Pats, long passes like that aren't their game. Lots of throws underneath to their two TE's and Welker. A 20 or so yard pass to 85 was their longest pass of the game, I belive. That's why I was pretty confident even though Brady is amazing that he had very little chance of moving the team down the field with a minute left at the end of the game.
