  1. Yes. They're alright but way overpriced. The I phone is way over matched by its competitors.
  2. No it doesn't. In 2007 an alternate system was Proposed in the election and was soundly defeated. Proportional representation takes away geographical constituencies. It may work in small countries. Not in Canada
  3. Oh so now this asshat cares about wasting taxpayer money. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/politics/article/1257883--dalton-mcguinty-says-no-documents-until-power-compensation-deal-is-done
  4. Can we get back to how horrible Apple products are?
  5. Here's the Link http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/sunnews/politics/archives/2012/09/20120917-070251.html
  6. Remember McGuinty lost his first election too. John Tory should have been allowed to retain leadership of the party but he ran in a very unsafe riding then forced a popular MPP to step down to try and win a seat in a bi-election in the Kawarthas and got punished for it. I can't find a link yet but I just heard on the radio the Ontario Liberals are in the mid 20's and the NDP and PCs are statistically tied in the mid 30's but it was also said that the NDP doesn't have a broad enough support across the province to gain too many seats. Proportional representation FTW.
  7. Depends who you ask I suppose. He did what he was elected to do. Got a second majority running on his record.
  8. It is, even your friend Sue Ann sorta went after him in the Sun today.
  9. Winning a bi-election has made the Dipper all cocky now The Rae government left a more odious reputation than the Harris government.
  10. I'm buying that less and less. People can't put a finger on what's wrong with Hudak. I'll tell you the likely reason he lost last October, is Hudak didn't differentiate himself, policy wise, from McGuinty. Now McGuinty is basically using the Tory platform in trying to legislate a wage freeze on public servants.
  11. This must piss teachers off. http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums//public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/laugh.gif We can't release these documents yet! They contain information that makes us look really really bad. http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums//public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/rolleyes.gif Stick a fork in this party, they're done!
  12. I think what he did was wrong. No Defending it whatsoever. Rob Ford has one hell of an ego to try and do this. Just responding to your claim that it's illegal, I doubt it can be proven. At least regarding having the assistants on the sidelines. Perhaps using the phone and cars might be actionable. Perhaps if making Ford repay those costs goes to council he won't be daft enough to vote on it this time.
  13. Well they aren't Unionized. Probably on salary so you can't prove they weren't helping Ford on their own time. They'd have to prove that Ford forced them to help otherwise they'd be fired or otherwise penalized.
  14. Did Macleans do a report about the Chretien Liberals claim to cancel the GST to be "farcical" at the time?
  15. The CPC did something similar in the 2011 campaign by insisting that if they weren't given a majority the 3 parties would form a coalition like they tried in 2008. Even though, of course, it wasn't in any of the parties platforms. You could call it lying but it's more just accusing the opposition of lying or implying that they are hiding something. This is really much ado about nothing.
  16. Well what else would you attribute them to? Perhaps the killing of the diplomats was pre-planned but it's logical to think these widespread protests have something to do with the movie. We've seen this all before with the Danish Cartoons or US Soldiers Peeing on corpses. Fundamentalist Muslims don't really need a good reason to riot.
  17. I'll need more evidence of that than just some blog from Macleans Magazine. Maybe they've come to reject both since 2008 but they've never supported Carbon Taxes.
  18. Yeah because only the CPC do stuff like that. I remember the type of Fear-mongering the Liberals engaged in during the 2004 and 2006 election. Hidden Agenda Hidden Agenda!!!!
  19. Didn't the CPC cut the GST by 2%? I wasn't a fan of the HST but it was done to "sorta" streamline the system. It sucked the first few months to see new charges on essentials like Gas, Hydro and Heating fuel but the public has pretty much absorbed it. At least here in Ontario, can't comment on BC. I know BC is a bit more PO'd about the HST.
  20. Where in the OP does it say they do? It's talks about Cap and Trade. I think they were looking at it back in 2008/9 but the financial crisis put it on the back-burner. Right now I doubt there's any appetite for Canadians to have either. Certainly not if the US isn't on board. Barack Obama has paid similar lip-service to the idea of Carbon taxes and Cap and Trades. He's said it's something they want to pursue but have done little to implement one. Cap and Trade has been a disaster in Europe. I would hope the CPC never go down that road.
  21. Not sure what you're talking about. The 2008 Election was a pretty good rejection of the idea of a Carbon Tax.
  22. It's shame that these teacher went this way. I feel bad for these kids. http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/education/article/1256482--teacher-boycotts-hit-curriculum-nights-as-well-as-sports-clubs You can't say it's "about the kids" when you do crap like this.
  23. What's Orwellian about reminding people that a Carbon Tax is really bad for the Canadian Middle-class.
  24. I'll concede the football thing is hypocrisy at it's worst. You know Ford supporters can be pretty happy with a lot of what Ford has done, but he does stuff like this that only provides ammunition to his opponent. Staff workers are going to do what their boss tells them. They're not unionized, the more they please the boss the better their chance at upward mobility. Kiss Ass until you can Kick it. Ultimately it's a trivial matter but it just allows people that don't like the mayor to fuel the fire to say that he's a bad mayor.
  25. Sure but do you need official documents reminding people about it? If these are just recommendations then it's just a waste of tax money. This was being discussed on a radio a few days ago and it was thought that memos like these are probably more about Board bureaucrats trying to justify their salary.
