No but there's a video game. http://www.citynews.ca/2013/06/25/toronto-company-creates-rob-ford-video-game/

I think in Canada that once you live together for a certain time you're considered "common-law" and can claim benefits. But Marriage should come with special benefits as it's a legal contract a couple signs. There was a high profile case in Quebec where a women who had 3 children from a billionaire man but never actually married him wanted half of his estate when they broke up. She lost the case. https://www.mcgill.ca/newsroom/channels/news/quebec-billionaires-ex-loses-common-law-case-107681

Well political plants calling into radio stations are nothing new; Liberal or Conservative. Apparently Ford didn't put this Dave guy up to it and he was suspended for a week.

Reyes comes back today. Kawasaki is out, No surprise. 2 Massive stinkers in Tampa to start the week. Hopefully Reyes can jump start the offense a bit.

What a shameful display! http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/story/2013/06/25/toronto-dalton-mcguinty-gasplant-emails.html So the legislation your government wrote is "confusing" and your staff weren't trained properly on how to deal with internal corespondents? Who's fault is that DALTON!?!?!?!?He called the hearing a partisan exercise. So he's dismissing the investigation of the waste of $600 million plus as a partisan exercise? How arrogant! He was belligerent and completely not co-operative. Yesterday was evidence that this man holds the people of Ontario with contempt.

That's not always true. The roads will have to get pretty bad for some to choose transit. It's very expensive and time consuming to take regional transit. Gridlock hasn't really grown exponentially with the population because a lot of people do live where they work, or drive out of Toronto not in. or they commute at non rush-hour times. Don't get me wrong traffic at times is bad but taxes that charge everyone in the province for everything they do and every litre of gas they buy is simply punitive. Want to effect gridlock at certain time? toll key arteries only at rush-hour. But Metrolinx isn't proposing to do that.
-
It's not meant to get people out of their cars. It's using drivers to fund transit projects. I don't hear any plans to expand highways to reduce congestion. Also their plan to charge for parking at GO Stations will make people think twice about using the, already very expensive, GO Train.
-
We are in full agreement. A good majority of the Big Move are improvements to transit in Toronto so to make the rest of the province pay regressive taxes to fund is wrong. But the 401 is a Provincial Highway. If Toronto wants to Toll the 401 to help Toronto transit, then what's to stop Mississauga, Cambridge, Kitchener, London, Windsor, Oshawa or any community the 401 runs through to put up a toll booth to help fund local revenue of any kind? It'll quickly become the most expensive highway ever.
-
I haven't seen you being engaged in the debate about the Big Move much. A thread was started a few month ago by me. Tolling the 401 wasn't even on the long list of proposals by Metrolinx. They didn't even to propose to toll the Gardiner or institute a congestion charge. Probably because the start up costs on all those would be high. The proposals by Metrolinx are mostly just tax hikes like an additional Gas Tax and a hike to the HST. They also want to increase Development Charges. I learned today that Toronto has the cheapest DCs of all of the GTA which they want to increase. Gas Taxes and a hike to the HST probably won't ever pass the Legislature. With the HST they need approval from Ottawa and the CPC has flatly said they refuse to do it. With the Gas Tax, the NDP will look like massive hypocrites if they demand a reduction in Auto Insurance for average drivers BUT say a punitive increase in the Gas Tax (which will increase the price of everything to everyone) is OK.
-
The 401 is a provincial highway and the only real way to from one end of the Province to another. There's already a toll alternative on that route. Also plenty of areas on the 401 experience congestion not just Torornto. Tolling the 401 will never happen. Now tolling the DVP and the Gardiner should be done. That's a Toronto run highway and most people using it are commuters. There's a thread about this Big Move foolishness. Of the 4 or 5 "revenue tools" proposed by Metrolinx, tolling any major highway wasn't part of the recommendations. They do want to expand the HOV lane system to option HOT lanes or as people in LA call them: Lexus lanes. But I suspect that won't generate much money. People already have the 407 if they want to avoid traffic and they don't bother.
-
But then where do the cars go? It'll make another corridor busy as well. I guess that's not a concern of yours. I guess a pilot project in 2015 during a time the city should be buzzing with transit users couldn't hurt.
-
But you'd be able to double the ridership on a comparable east-west artery. And you'd have another artery streetcar free.

Kawasaki is a Japanese Baseball version of Rudy. Small guy who works very hard and has a great attitude. The viral video of him going "I'M FROM JAPAN. I'M JAPANESE!!!!!!!!!" made people love him. Either that or everyone was just laughing at him. Regardless he's a fan favourite. That homer on Friday was ridiculous. But there's no room for him on this time right now. Reyes is arguably the best player on this team. With Kawasaki you have to ask who he should replace? Maicer Izturis is a much better hitting utility infield right now. You could argue DeRosa but he's a solid veteran and more of a 3rd basemen. You'd have to send one of their relievers down, but they're playing so well right now. I actually think the bigger question is who do you send down when Lawrie is back? He's injury prone and has a bad attitude. At this point I'd rather see Izturis start with DeRosa or Edwin Encarnacion backing him up. Edwin is a great fielder.

11 wins in a row. Out of the AL East Cellar. Finally above .500. 3 straight sweeps. These next 2 series' are key. All their gains will be for naught if they get embarrassed by Tampa and Boston. Both have been struggling as of late, so I'm hopeful.

Jays Trade Matt Frattin, Ben Scrivens and a 2nd round pick to the Kings for their backup Jonathan Bernier. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/story/2013/06/23/sp-nhl-hockey-maple-leafs-jonathan-bernier.html He's consider a potential #1 goalie but has been forced to play behind Conn Smyth winner Jonathan Quick. Not a lot of faith put in Reimer here but he has shown to be an injury prone goalie so having 2 potential starters on the roster, wouldn't be bad. This doesn't address their #1 need of a really good centre that can win faceoffs. But it's a start.

Well that's another thread all together. I'm more distracted talking to the person next to me than I ever was using my handset back when it was legal. I drive with one hand on the steering wheel most of the time anyway. Using handsfree tech can be distracting because you're worried about how the tech is working, can you hear the person, can they hear you. Sort of like with a GPS.

You could argue driving tired is worse than driving drunk. The sad part is that many people are compelled to drive tired by employers. I've driven while on the brink of nodding off, it's rather terrifying actually.
-
After having a Neo-Citran I don't usually drive, I go to bed. You shouldn't be driving under heavy influence of anything, but people do it. If you're taking a drug for a medical purpose I'd argue, you're more likely to follow the instructions of use.
-
Which is something that needs to be addressed. It'll be interesting to see how the states in the US that legalized cannabis will handle regulating people driving while high.
-
This might work if they remove all public transit from another parallel artery. (Like Queen!)
-
They didn't really lose to Ford. It's more like the Supreme Court defeated them.

I don't know why you'd even bother with a few granules unless you were looking for some low level pain relief. But juxtapose that to tobacco where I can smoke a churchill cigar over the course of an hour and achieve a buzz that lasts maybe a half hour.
