  1. Well what's a really low dose? A few puffs? a bud? a joint? With alcohol they have a set standard for consumption. 12 oz of beer, 1 oz of 40% liqour, or 5 oz of wine equal a serving or "drink". Most can operate a vehicle with one or two drinks using that standard. Is there a similar standard with cannabis?
  2. I would classify "barely conscious" as extreme, others might not.
  3. I guess "extreme" is a subjective term. How would you describe the high?
  4. Who smokes pot because it tastes good? you're looking for a high. 3 people can get a high sharing a pipe with a little budd of weed. It's a pretty potent drug.
  5. The arguments to support legalization are the same as removing prohibition of alcohol back in the 30's. Most people can and do consume the product responsibly and you're creating criminals from participating in a rather benign activity. The risks associated with tobacco and alcohol are irrelevant. Except for the fact you consume both those drugs in low doses without an extreme high, not so with cannabis.
  6. It's not on the radar because far fewer people are chronic users of the drug. Because cannabis is illegal there aren't generations of people that are users. Many people can casually use alcohol and tobacco with very little social impact.
  7. You're right, I read a story that he was awarded partial costs for the Boardwalk Pub lawsuit. So many Rob Ford scandals, it's hard to keep them all straight.
  8. I do find it interesting that the story provides no actual evidence of voter fraud. What ridings would have gone to the Liberals if not for this so-called voter suppression?
  9. It's been ruled that Ford CAN go after Magder for costs.
  10. Regardless if you think that's the case, The court has ruled that votes forcing elected officials to payback private donations is out of the purview of a city council.
  11. Last week Mississauga's Mayor Hazel McCallion was cleared of all charges in a similar Conflict of Interest case. Except it was a family member that stood to gain from her questionable move. In Mayor Ford's case, only disadvantaged football players stood to gain. The conflict of interest law needs to be modified and the penalty of automatic removal of office needs to be revised.
  12. Breaking News: The Supreme Court won't hear this case. Was a major long shot in the first place. There's no real national interest in turfing the mayor from office. Also, apparently, they dismissed the case "with cost" meaning Ford can go after Magder for legal costs.
  13. Multiple sources, including the family and hospital have come on the record saying he died of a massive heart attack. Now if 3 reporters were reporting that an anonymous source showed them a video of James Gandolfini's body and were charging 6 figures for obtaining the video and that was the only read evidence of his death, I would share your skepticism.
  14. What's shocking is that JT got paid $5,000 to do that press conference.
  15. With other forensic evidence. Like say the victims blood on a knife found with the suspect's finger prints on it.
  16. If I didn't question the motives of the eyewitnesses. But even the Star said they can't verify the video's authenticity. It's not like you could go to court with this.
  17. Ditto with saying there IS a video.
  18. I'm sure you used that word on purpose too :-D
  19. Canada has hosted a few Olympics so I'm not sure. Granted Canada would never host a Men's World Cup, we don't have enough large stadiums for that. I'm sure there'd be riots if people wanted to build 60,000 seat stadiums in Winnipeg for a tournament. Then again Brazil is the epicenter of great Soccer.
  20. The money was raised though. Now Gawker is asking how that money should be spent.
  21. I'm sure, now that you've wondered that, you can be used as a source by the media. "Source claims the Fords have a mob connection"
  22. The scandal that is the PMO exposing the JT charity story hasn't seemed to gain traction in the MSM. Well the media I consume anyway.
  23. I'm paraphrasing the feelings of a lot of people. I don't think he's evil. He's crude and socially awkward. But the people that voted for him knew that before the election.
  24. The police didn't confirm the existence of the video did they? A province wide set of raids just to find a video is pretty overkill wouldn't you think? And if a video never surfaces, you can't prove those reporters were lying. Are we to believe them just cuz? Some people will because Ford is evil you know. This is a circular argument. People are going to believe who or what they're going to believe.
  25. Sort of like saying, do you have any evidence that God doesn't exist. Very hard to prove a negative. The lack of a video showing up over a month since the story broke is pretty compelling.
