  1. So do you make all your purchases solely based on the worst possible outcome? For someone who had distain for anyone who took, perhaps getting COVID seriously, you seem to think people should fear spontaneous combustion from the EV Batteries? Do you have any data on the frequency and chances of that vs other catastrophic accidents like, say, your furnace exploding? I'm aware of this. Which is why people who don't have dedicated Stage 2 chargers probably shouldn't get an EV. Technology will, no doubt improve. In the 2 1/2 years I've owned an EV I've used a Stage 3 Fast Charger a grand total of 3 times.
  2. Kay. I don't plan on having it light on fire.
  3. That seems fair. Again, it's not like people are being forced to buy EV anytime in the next 5+ years. I'm actually interested in the new Ioniq 5 model, you have to put a deposit down and wait a year. No one is being forced to get an EV. With the supply chain, getting any new car is a challenge TBH.
  4. You'd have to cite that. The battery tech is obviously something that will need to evolve for the production costs to come down.
  5. A lot of the components are the same. There are EVs that are built on ICE platforms, but as the sector evolves, we're seeing ground up EV manufacturing. I think the Tesla skews stats. Currently they're, by far, the #1 EV company but they don't really have the efficiencies built in as a proper Car company like Hyundai or VW.
  6. I seem to remember people freaking out about a woman getting trampled by a Horse while resisting police. Hypocrisy is strong.
  7. They actually worked quite well. Now they caused a myriad of other problems that begs the question as to whether they were worth it. But if you want to slow the spread of a disease, shutting down businesses where indoor socializing is the point of said business, is an excellent way to do it. See how China is basically a time machine of 2021 in how they're experiencing COVID because they locked down their people for so long.
  8. You have to look for them on Twitter. But yeah, if you're not on the internet you wouldn't notice. Both are quite marginalized in most public discourse. I'd be surprised if PP even courts "that lot" in the next election. It's basically what sunk O'Toole.
  9. Ukraine seems to have effective air defence. Which is why Putin has resorted to terror bombing civilians.
  10. With what Air Superiority?
  11. No. There's a faction on both sides of this issue that can't let go of the Pandemic. On one side you have the #COVIDisntOver crowd who are perfectly happy with masking as good public health going forward and on the other side you have people, like member Goddess, who believe it's the vaccine that has caused the excess death we've seen, not COVID, and anything that says otherwise is a conspiracy from the WEF Cabal.
  12. That's why EVs are more fun to drive. Instant energy. You don't have to worry about redlining.
  13. The Free Pub M&Ms is getting is the true story here. Excellent marketing strategy.
  14. If you let an EV run out of range, you have no choice but to call a tow truck. I did see a tiktok where a guy had a generator in the trunk of his Tesla. Even if you planned to use it. You'd need to spend 3 hours plus charging the car with the Generator. If you lack proper planning skills, an EV may not be for you yet.
  15. This was an unplanned event where I needed to. Most people in Urban and Suburban areas in Canada don't really worry about power cuts unless there's severe weather. In the future EVs should be able to be used as Generators. If the power does go out, the battery can power a variety of home functions. A single EV battery could keep your lights on for awhile.
  16. That article is from July 2021. Much of the negative effects of Delta happened much after. Into Q4 of 2021. So this is a conspiracy of yourse, as many would say these deaths are from COVID. This is all theorizing. There are people on the other side of this spectrum that believe COVID destroys one's immune system that will kill or make people sick of other illnesses because they've been infected with COVID. You're all insane. Again all theory. You don't believe it's COVID because earlier variants didn't attack younger people and in your worldview if it did start killing younger people it means it was a serious disease that needed the interventions governments took. But you have ZERO!!!! evidence that Vaccine was the cause.
  17. I had my first instance of real Range anxiety on the weekend. The wife and I were going to see a movie and we pulled an audible to see a more critically acclaimed movie only showing at an indie theatre in Toronto as opposed to Avatar 2. By the time we got to the theatre, I have like 57 kms of range and I was 45 kms from home. We tried to find a Stage 2 charger, which we did, but the charger directed you to download an App that didn't exist. This is a big problem with EVs. Each public charger requires its own app and its own account. The big players in Canada are ChargePoint and FLO, but there are plenty of others. We had two backup plans for Stage 3 chargers on the way home if the battery didn't hold up, but it appeared like the range was holding up with our hyper-miling techniques. That is until we were like 10 kms from home and the range calculator stopped giving a reading as the battery was so low. We ended up making it home with 2% left on the battery. Slightly harrowing but it was a good test of the EV's battery and it passed the test. One thing that's different about an EV battery is that it seems more consistent over the course of the batteries charge. The range it shows is largely what you can expect if you continue with the same driving style and conditions. With every ICE car I've ever owned it seemed that the second half of the tank always went quicker than the first, for whatever reason. The biggest weakness of the EV is your inability to do something unplanned. Had we known we were going to Toronto I could have charged the car ahead of time. Or we even could have charged on the way and budgeted that time into our evening. There aren't many Stage 3 chargers in the GTA, and I understand why. If you own a home charger you'll never use them. They're emergency measures or something you'll need on a road trip. This is something that'll have to be resolved in the future.
  18. Why go through the effort of posting a screen shot if not posting a link from where the Screen Shot derived. Are you disagreeing with the statement that the Vaccine was not widely available in Q3 of 2020? Or that the Delta Variant was the most pathogenic variant of the virus? Check Worldometer which was the go-to for stats during the Pandemic. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ Late 2021 into early 2022 was, by far the deadliest period.
  19. Why don't you provide links to anything you post? You clearly take the time to create a screen shot. Just link to the site you're citing. One could argue that increase is due to COVID and the effects of COVID lockdowns. The vaccine was not widely available in Q2 and Q3 of 2020, but the highest increase it shows are for Q3 2020. That's when the vaccine was just introduced. That's for the youngest cohort which is what everyone is freaking out about, in relation to vaccine injury: myocarditis etc. The highest for the 35-44 cohort shows up in Q3 of 2021, the vaccine was widely available but that's also when the most pathogenic version of COVID we've seen, the Delta Variant, was the dominant strain.
  20. PP ahead of JT in new Nanos poll. Expect more Crypto jokes.

  21. Time is a Flat Circle. A handful of Zellers will be opened this year. https://www.ctvnews.ca/business/here-is-where-25-new-zellers-stores-will-open-in-canada-this-year-1.6235651 The Bay is considered pretty high-end. It's a good move to have a Discount brand active.
  22. It's also beyond these people's imagination that young athletic people take performance enhancing drugs that effect their heart.
  23. The move here is that any death from someone over 60 that didn't have a chronic disease like Cancer can be linked to the vaccine. Even if a cause of death is given. For example, a reason was given for the Bills Safety collapsing recently, It doesn't matter, that's all part of the Conspiracy.
  24. I would suggest a tragedy like in the OP is the exception and not the rule in Canadian Healthcare.
  25. Not if it justifies Putin's invasion and subsequent War Crimes.
