  1. Yeah, but it's tough to travel between the Provinces right now isn't it? Canada has Universal Healthcare which means a lot of the medical needs are already provided for. Everyone CAN get a test if they need one and not pay.
  2. There was zero ability to Social Distance and no one was zero requirement to wear a mask. 54 examples https://www.washingtonpost.com/video/politics/the-fix/54-times-trump-downplayed-the-coronavirus/2020/03/05/790f5afb-4dda-48bf-abe1-b7d152d5138c_video.html As were many other places that have gotten a handle on the virus now. Unlike the US. Cite the statistic that backs this up. So why'd they close the school's down in the first place. Teachers are at risk aren't they? I happen to agree that Schools should open. But precautions should be taken. Trump says the CDC precautions are unfeasable.
  3. And because of this, the US is the only country in the Developed world facing a pandemic of this size. Sure, blame the Governors too. Ron DeSantis is a MAGA guy isn't he?
  4. In an earlier post I mentioned how Trump has contributed to the issues the US is facing now. He has done the opposite of leading by example. I also think that the absence of a National strategy on COVID is contributing to the problem.
  5. You commented on Cuomo, I was simply responding.
  6. You don't think it's as much fun watching you sweep in to Defend your nation to a bunch of Canadians just commenting on objective truths? The US is in Deep Shit.
  7. I said developed nations. If you want to quibble with Brazil being a developed nation we can. Should I say G7 nations to make you feel better? India and Russia are also struggling with COVID-19. Happy to be in that club?
  8. Cuomo was able to flatten the curve. The Outbreak in New York was arguably worse than what was seen in Italy. Current results are not terrific, but good considering elsewhere in the country.
  9. You're right we're helpless by standards. But we're still going to comment. Even if some Americans don't like it.
  10. We've discussed Brazil, they've shit the bed too. But Brazil is not the largest economy in the world. It's not even a G7 nation. But their leader minimized the disease at every opportunity. To the point that he actually got COVID.
  11. Trump had an indoor rally in Tulsa where he thought he'd get 20,000 people. He had a speech in South Dakota where 7,500 people were crammed in an outdoor theatre. He Tweeted LIBERATE Minnesota, Virginia and Michigan in response to their COVID containment efforts. He moved the Republican Convention to a different state because North Carolina had a mask order. He's minimized the threat of the virus at every step. He's lied that 99% of the cases are harmless. He never wears a mask in public. AND Yesterday he threatened to cut Education funding to states that don't open schools, regardless of their COVID situation. Should I go on?
  12. And . . . the US is in big trouble. Part of it, I'll admit, is schadenfreude watching Trump absolutely bungle this at every turn. But the US is important to Canada, BC2004 reminds us of that daily. Seeing it go through a crisis like this is a little disheartening. Every developed nation has controlled Covid. The world's largest economy can't.
  13. And extrapolated over much of the Us, that'd be pretty bad!
  14. I'm assuming you mean CMAs. I don't know if you've ever been to Florida, but the population density isn't all that huge. Sure lots of people live there, but they aren't getting to work on Subways or commuter trains. Houston is a huge city, but much of it is a sprawling suburb. Ditto with Dallas/Fortworth. The point is that you have a few hundred cases a day vs 10,000 cases a day. A big difference. That can't be dismissed by population density. If Protests/Riots are an indication that would lead one to believe that Social Distancing is a good thing. Something that indoor dining or gathering at Church wouldn't help.
  15. This is a problem, for the US, with no end in sight because a certain faction refuse to do anything to prevent transmission. What happens if new cases do get to 100,000 and day like Fauci has predicted? What happens if hospitals across the country all get overrun resulting in a death rate seen in New York or Italy, except over dozens of states and not just two? It'll be an ugly state of affairs.
  16. Which is the driver of this moving forward. The record numbers we're seeing today don't factor in the reckless behaviour over the 4th of July weekend. The problem in the US will only get worse.
  17. So do Seatbelts and laws that require you to wear clothes.
  18. And you're too partisan to recognize that protests, if at all, are only a fraction of the outbreaks we're seeing now. Many protestors were wearing masks. You have people, in the US and some in Canada, who think being asked to wear a mask in indoor public places is tantamount to living in Nazi Germany. And that's the big problem. They feel public health guidelines infringe on their freedom.
  19. You don't think cratering oil prices and the decimation of the hospitality industry isn't going to hurt the US economy?
  20. And all that the US has done is brilliant? I remember you pinned all the US COVID issues to the population density of New York and Canada has skated because of its low population density. How does that narrative work when you have record per capita outbreaks in suburb-infesded Florida, Arizona and Texas?
  21. "Rebounding" I'm sure all the catastrophe of the past few weeks has altered those rosy predictions.
  22. And he didn't really create the growing economy he inherited. He just took the baton. Can't take credit for an economy you didn't create and absolve yourself from a struggling economy because you didn't create the virus. His rush to re-open the economy will have hurt the recovery far more than has helped it. All other developed nations have tackled COVID and have falling infection rates. The US is arguably in worse shape that it was in April. At least in April it really was only focused in the Northeast. Now, it's just about everywhere.
  23. That's why, even though the numbers are low, Municipal governments are still mandating masks in indoor public places. Hard to enforce but it's on the books. No one is going to get penalized for not serving someone for not wearing a mask. When you look at what's going on in the US, I don't know how you don't decide to wear a mask in public.
  24. 11% unemployment (slow clap) he inherited 5% unemployment from Obama.
