  1. People can transmit the disease before experiencing symptoms and requiring a test. The growth in cases indicates that isolating only people with positive tests doesn't really work. Not that I expect a lockdown to work either. But it may keep the Healthcare system from collapsing. I hope, in the future, governments immediately lockdown travel to and from any country that has a similar disease. We as a species have proven that we are incapable of controlling the spread of a highly communicable disease.
  2. That's not actually true. CP24 (owned by Rogers) does a pretty good job breaking down the numbers. From today's 41 deaths. https://www.cp24.com/news/ontario-reports-more-than-2-400-new-cases-of-covid-19-41-more-deaths-1.5242822 A sizeable percentage are from LTC homes, but most aren't.
  3. Trump undercuts the GOP by refusing to sign the $900b relief bill unless more aid is included.

    Hiiii-larious!!!

Shady, I think you're confused as to why we find this funny.

It's great that Trump wants more money for people. But he should have probably been engaged in that process from the go and not sabotage the bill after it gets passed.

Now the GOP are faced with a choice to overruled Trump with a Veto proof majority or concede to what the Dems have been trying to get for months now.

      It's lose-lose.

And good on them, the crazy-person they've been propping up for four years is now biting them.

We don't really know what's happened behind the scenes.  The Dems haven't acted well either.  They've turned the covid bill into a climate change bill, loaded with a ton of spending completely unrelated to covid.  That's why Republicans didn't go along with it.

What a great man. Even on the way out he still fights for the average guy.

      Magnificent... American

  4. I'm glad they had the self-awareness not to do it before Christmas. You're listen to us, so we're going to lock you down after you gather indoors en masse so you can't spread the disease more afterwards. And I'm guilty, I plan to see family on Christmas as well. Might as well if I'm going to get shutdown afterwards.
  5. Nothing in that article is proof. It's just a compilation of all the conspiracy theories we've already heard. None proven in court.
  6. Conservatives usually like to brag about being a "Big Tent" party. Now they seem to be a very small tent. The "Whatever Trump says is Right" tent.
  7. That's because the Republican party isn't really the Republican party anymore. It's the Trump Fealty Party.
  8. Those elections would decide if he's majority or minority Senate leader. He has a lot to lose.
  9. 3,500 deaths reported yesterday in the US. At an average of 2,000 deaths a day (accounting for the previously mentioned weekend lul), they'll reach 400,000 deaths before February. As an a side. Canada is panicking with 100-150 deaths a day.
  10. Georgia.
  11. It looks like, for at least this season with the border closed, The NHL will just have a Canadian division. There'll be no fans in Canada. I suspect they'll Bubble up here again. Revenues will definitely take a hit but that has to be reflected in all team's CBAs.
  12. Trump is pocketing the money he's raising for the Georgia Senate Runoffs. LOL

It certainly hurts the Senators chances of winning. Not that Trump cares.

  13. Mitch is telling his Senators not to go along with any challenges to the Jan 6 acceptance of the EC result. It would create a fealty vote to Trump. You know Trump will be taking notes on who votes to challenge the result. And now andy Dem can have that vote to be used as a campaign tool against them. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/12/15/mcconnell-gop-election-results-445524
  14. He was probably trying to keep investigations from swaying political opinions. That's what Comey got flack for doing. Imagine what would have been said if Comey came out with all the stuff his team was hearing about Russia in October 2016.
  15. Well considering I've never voted Liberal in my life, I think I do have some level of expertise. I can tell you that being Conservative has nothing to do with pledging fealty to a Conman.
  16. I wonder if Bill Barr's replacement (Probably Rudy or Jenna Ellis) has enough time to get Hunter Indicted, Convicted and thrown in jail before January 20th. :P

150,000+ doses of the Moderna vaccine to come before the end of the Month.

  17. Mayor Pete in Cabinet! He would have been my nomination choice of the Dem contenders back when there was like 25 of them.
  18. You'd think Courts would be completely convinced then. The "fight" will prove to divide the Conservative movement in two. Actual Conservatives who have ideals and an agenda. And Trump Conservatives who pledge fealty to Trump and everything he wants.
  19. Or maybe she wants to be there when Congress accepts the EC results. There's already a debate on who should replace her. I'm sure she's not hedging her bets.
  20. I agree. I can't only take comfort in knowing it can be much worse. Most Canadians aren't super-spreading. We do wear masks and mostly social distance. Deaths per million in Ontario is under 300. Only 5 US states have Deaths per million that low.
  21. 2,200 cases today. Hospitalization nearing 1,000. Total deaths approaching 4,000. Not sure what can be done at this point, short of a March style Lockdown. If you only lockdown certain places, people just go to other places. This Holiday Season is going to be tough.
  22. Putin congratulates Biden on his POTUS victory. Clearly a RINO.

      And McConnell. ALL RINOS!!!!!!

  23. It's just not for the prisoner's safety. The guards and staff can easily get infected and spread it to the general public. The US has an jail population problem anyway. I wouldn't be worked up if non-violent felons get their sentences shortened because of COVID-19.
  24. I suspect, because of COVID-19. dWhich was allowed and the decision by SCOTUS last Friday would indicate that those laws are no one else's businesses.
