  1. The Republican Governor of Maryland says that a congressman from his state called and begged for assistance. He had troops ready to help assist but needed Federal Authorization. After an hour he finally got a call. Not from POTUS, Not from the VEEP, Not from the Secretary of Defence. . . The Secretary of the Army finally asked for help almost 2 hours later!!!!! Trump allowed this to happen and was happy about about it. https://www.baltimoresun.com/politics/bs-md-pol-hogan-capitol-20210107-7gjx3ksoqrhmrixhqr7zz2byom-story.html
  2. It's safe to say that yesterday put an end to this charade. Trump finally conceded that he's gone January 20th. Of course it was facing the threat of being forced to resign or being removed from office.
  3. I would contend, what you call a "spade" and what I do differ significantly.
  4. I'm actually shocked that yesterday seems to have put the nail in Trumpism. He's as toxic as it gets right now. Good on him.
  5. Regarding what? I shouldn't have to answer for politicians in the US 8 years ago. I probably would have preferred Romney back then. I certainly preferred Dubya and McCain.
  6. I'd like to see a cite on the "Murder" reference. I suspect that's not a blanket assessment of the man when he ran for POTUS. You've seen some of the awful things Trump has said about Romney and other sensible Republicans right? But you want to focus on partisan tactics of the past/ You think preferring to the likes of Dubya, Romney or McCain to Trump is hypocrisy? It doesn't dawn on you that it's just an honest assessment of relative merits of each politician.
  7. Zuck as spoken. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/01/07/facebook-will-block-trump-from-posting-for-the-remainder-of-his-term.html?fbclid=IwAR2tcjU_o5dhJYI9-ED7YQpe1nQuBEFG8E1vyRfzzbh0R9r7fFSVv0jdNnw I'm sure Trump will love all the attention he gets on Parler.
  8. And, his lot in the current Republican party is due to Trump. Not sure why you're trying to re-litigate the 2012 election. He lost to an extremely popular POTUS. One that would have easily won a third term if he was allowed.
  9. Remember when Romney was accosted on a plane by Trump supporters this week? https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2021/01/06/mitt-romney-plane-video-trump-supports-yell-traitor-flight-dc/6560941002/
  10. I'll take your attempt at you resorting to sarcasm seriously and thank you.
  11. I don't BTW. But I can see so many here see the world in such Black and White scenarios.
  12. Trudeau Derangement Syndrome.
  13. The upsetting part about what happened yesterday is that it's the logical conclusion of "Trump's Act". If you really believe that Trump won the election by a "Landslide". An armed insurrection would be the only thing you could do to prevent such a thing from happening. That's why he's culpable for the violence that took place. Even the Senators who objected yesterday didn't believe that Trump won by a landslide. Josh Hawley could only limply suggest that expanding Election laws in Pennsylvania "could" lead to fraud. No actual suggestion that fraud took place. Senator after Senator came up to say that the courts have ligated these things to death. Only 6 Senators ended up objecting to the Certification.
  14. Of the Hypocritical Tweets from Trump. . . And there are many. This one takes the cake.
  15. I think it's safe to say, that anyone who holds water for the Mantle of Trumpism, going forward, can easily be grouped into that rabble that invaded the Capitol yesterday.

Those people weren't intellectually objecting to an election result they disagreed with, they were rioting because "their" country is quickly moving away from them.

Yes, Democrats technically control all of congress.  But with razor thin margins.  No, he won’t be able to make D.C. a state.  Red state democrats in the senate have already insisted they will not be supporting anything radical.

How is that radical? DC is larger than many states.

Controlling the Senate is huge. McConnell obstructed many bills.  This sheltered his caucus from voting on many things. Now they'll have to at least put their names to things like COVID-19 Stimulus.

Take it up with the red state Democrats in the senate who aren’t on board with D.C. statehood.  It’s unconstitutional.  It’s never going to see the light of day in a 50/50 senate, and only a 4 seat margin in the house.  I have no idea why you think that’s a good idea anyways.  Other than for senate packing purposes.  Which is disgusting and anti-democratic.  Once again, you’re a complete hypocrite.

  16. So that's where you're drawing the new line. You go from just another POTUS that ends up inciting a violent insurrection. And now we're at, Oh a Civil War? That's old hat for the US of A, we do that every century or so.
  17. So. . . this is Terrorism correct?

It was a mostly peaceful protest.

Was this?  Oh wait, it was “generally “ not unruly.  Never mind the large building on fire in the background.  Hypocrite much?

Shady brings up something he and I both condemned as a defense for people doing something this time that only I condemn. Strange. I guess some people think anarchy and insurrection is okay as long as it's people on their side.

  18. All that handwringing about ANTIFA seems hilarious about now.
  19. Sorry Low Mein. I can't even get my authoritarians right.
  20. Haven't heard a more anti-Trump speech than the one Mitch McConnell is currently doing. This must be a tough day for him.
  21. Then you must love the Trump's Grift.
  22. Merrick Garland (Remember Him!!!) is Biden's pick for AG. And there's nothing the GOP can do about it now.
  23. The Noodles are delicious.
