  1. 30% of Eligible Canadians are fully vaccinated. In 2 weeks, that'll be North of 50%. Open the border!

  2. Sure you were.
  3. The virus creates death elsewhere anyway. I'm sure you'll trot all the surgeries that were cancelled because of the Pandemic. Those surgeries ended up being cancelled because of lack of ICU space, not fear of spread.
  4. And you're a useless dupe of Right-Wing Media. DeSantis probably doesn't know anything substantive about Canada. I'm very confident he isn't aware that more 10,000 people died in Florida, due to the pandamic, than in all of Canada than did in his backwater state.
  5. Sydney, Australia enters a strict two-week lockdown on a handful of positive cases. All the while only 4% of the country is fully vaccinated. Australia is doing it wrong.

Russia is experiencing a Covid second wave equal to their first one in November-December of 2020. Second waves happen.

Your New Delhi Television article does not produce any data showing why we need to believe the Delta Variant is responsible for any new deaths or hospitalizations. It just offers up one of those scary hints those kinds of publications like to scare the easily frightened with.

Sorry I can't run with you to tell the king the sky is falling just yet.

I already mentioned that the normal evolution of variant is more infectious, less deadly. Conversely some become less infectious, more deadly. Its unusual to have one that is both more infectious and more deadly.

The delta variant has shown itself to be more infectious but less deadly. Yawn.

More interesting is how quick certain media mouthpieces who acted like experts screamed it was more infectious, more deadly. And that was right away at the onset when this variant was discovered. I thought, how can they say that. No data yet to even back that up. It’s unconscionable.

You people who think you know things. You prove that good, auld adage “a little knowledge is dangerous”.

Who said the sky is falling. I'm not particularly worried about Delta, because vaccination.

However there are plenty in the US that refuse to get vaccinated. You want to assume that these variants are harmless and not the fact that vaccination actually works?

  6. Do you have a data-base for these talking points or is each multi-paragraph diatribe completely original? Because you keep saying the same shit.
  7. And what benefit would that serve? It's funny that people are both anti lockdown and anti vaccine. The vaccine is the ticket out of this problem. If there really was a fascist agenda, the rush to get a vaccine (by governments of all political stripes) would have been stopped.
  8. This is a dry-run for Climate Change restrictions.
  9. Seeing the crowd of unmasked people in Montreal last night would have to show officials that filling the area wouldn't be the end of the world. You aren't even seeing crowds like that in the US.

I guess you didn't hear about the riot police and the tear gas used to disperse the crowd right after the game ended.

Fans inside the stadium were not allowed to leave, ordered to remain in their seats until further notice while authorities were dealing with an "unsafe situation outside."

      All done off-camera, of course.

Ain't it funny, how we don't hear much about that.

  10. I agree. There's no reason we can't do Stage 3 right now. They're sticking to their guns on this though. I do think they're trying to buy time until there's an even larger percentage of people fully vaccinated. My appointment is next week, that means I won't have full protection until mid July. The bigger play is the re-opening of the border and the removal of all mask mandates because there's enough people fully vaccinated that getting COVID-19 is pretty much you're own fault. In the UK they're seeing record a huge spike in cases of the Delta variant. Granted deaths and hospitalizations haven't followed because they had such a huge percentage of fully vaccinated. We're just not there yet, and at 200,000 jabs a day, we probably won't be there for another 2 weeks anyway.
  11. Not for the vaccinated Sheeple
  12. The political analysis for the PCs is simple. The Liberals and NDP would have done the same thing. The goal is to box them out on this issue. So opening early and seeing a spike would be a detriment. The Opposition is not making hay on the fact that this re-opening is going to slowly. In fact they too think the government should listen to the doctors on re-opening. Full vaccination is still only at 25%. We'll need to be at 50% before we can entertain "getting back to normal". By the end of July, anyone who got a first dose in May could get a second dose. A Pfizer shipment delay has meant that, if anyone is willing to get Moderna (mix and matched), they can get their shot next week.
  13. Case Numbers and hospitalization dropping as vaccination rates go up. No need to get tested if you don't feel sick, even if you would test positive for screen purposes. Happened to Bill Maher. https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucelee/2021/05/15/bill-maher-tests-positive-for-covid-19-coronavirus-and-is-fully-vaccinated/?sh=63d69ce37ebf
  14. They had already said that they are looking for numbers to stay down. Which they have. Today they said they could move to Stage 2 next Wednesday (Right before Canada Day). Makes sense. That leaves 2-3 weeks before July 21st, where JT better Open the Effin! Border with the US. By then, at this pace, we should have at least 50% full vaccination, if not more.
  15. So no, you haven't demonstrated that Airlines can dictate border policies. Perhaps we should be taxing these billionaires more, shouldn't we?
  16. It's the governments who follow their advice. But not always.
  17. Sounds like most public health decisions. Until they do effect your health.
  18. Your ability to comprehend what a vaccine does is perplexing. A vaccine is not a cure, it keeps you from getting sick though. Right now we haven't reached the two-dose vaccination that would lead to broad immunity for, especially, the Delta variant. I suspect once we reach 50+% full vaccination you'll see a removal of most safety measures.
  19. I'm know I'm feeding a troll but damn!!!! What say do the Airlines have regarding international travel? Maybe you haven't been to another country in your life, but they have this thing called Customs and Immigration. A country sets the policy of who enters, not the Airline. And if the human body can fight off any virus, explain AIDS to me.
  20. Vaccines aren't new. Anti-Vaxxers benefit from years without catastrophic diseases destroying lives because of vaccines.
  21. 1) Because you won't get sick. Your body knows how to fight it off with the vaccine. 2) Good for you. Good luck leaving the country in the next few years with that attitude.
  22. This statement proved your ignorance. And poor use of grammar. Of course you can still get it. I don't think you understand what a vaccine is. What the vaccine prevents is someone getting very sick from the virus. The only way out of this, is people being able to get infected or being exposed to the virus and not getting any symptoms.
  23. That's just for vaccine availability. Some of these "Delta Hot Spots" are seeing less than 20 new cases a day.
  24. They also have to ensure that openings haven't led to any spikes. It's been a week since we entered Stage 1. No appreciable spikes, but you have to give it a few more days before we will know for sure.
