Not really fair enough. Because the oil industry is a healthy, long lived industry. It shouldn't need tax breaks at all. Not only that. But to argue that the Wind Energy companies shouldn't receive subsidies is to argue that our current oil infrastructure shouldn't exist... because it was built on subsidy/tax break.

I agree for large business. If a large corporation fails... it should be split up and smaller, more innovative competitors can pick up to fill the void. Though, I think it is important to invest in small star-ups to keep productivity/innovation in a country high. I believe in investing in small business is one of the most important things any government can do. Too bad our conservatives only believe in investing in mega corps.

Do you forget how the Conservatives got into power? By not releasing full platforms or backing up any policies with plans... They just borderline slandered everyone else without substantiating anything of theirs.

Same sex adoption-good?bad? None of my business is what it is. It's not like they are short on children looking to get adopted. I do find it odd that conservative types don't want anyone involved in their "law abiding" business... yet these same people believe they should be involved in EVERYONE else's "law abiding" business.

Nope. I had an interview with a female manager who was exposing a bit too much cleavage. My eyes dropped, completely subconsciously for fraction of a second, and the interview changed from that point on. I wasn't leering, I didn't even mean to look down. It just happened. Ontario is already more conservative that Alberta. We have fewer public servants, and spend less on social policies than they do. The RAE NDP government was trying to act responsibly. It just didn't go over well. NDP governments elected in Canada have a better record on Fiscal spending than the Cons or Libs, BTW. Cons and Libs are big spenders, just spend on Corporate supporters and other pet projects.

It's actually very easy to comprehend. Take all of the human fat/oils released generated over the last 100 years. Mutiply that by 10,000,000... (1billion years ago since earth had multi cellular creatures.) Keep in mind, that humans make up a very small portion of the Earth's biomass. Oceans are full of tiny creatures with their hydrocarbon lipids.

It's too bad more right wing ideologues didn't believe in evolution. Because if they did, they'd allow all abortion rights people all the abortions they want. Because really, they are only limiting their contribution to the gene pool. Factored in over a few millenia, greatly removes people with a genetic disposition to abort. I like this train of thought because... it's simple and doesn't need exceptions for incest, rape, etc and does justice over the long term to people who are predisposed to choose it for convenience/vanity/lifestyle.

That's not entirely true. Catholic schools screw High School students by not offering as many options, and actively hiring people who aren't qualified to teach speciality optional subjects(Construction, Computer Engineering, Business, Etc.) because high quality people aren't willing to take half a course load in the subject they love. Catholics students get far fewer optional choices because of the required 4 religion credits. I'd wager that the Catholic board also graduates far fewer students in high demand technology (Engineering, Computer) fields simply because in the catholic system, to get the requirements for an engineering program you only have 2 optional credits over your entire 4 years. My local public high school teaches technology concepts in grade 9, that the Catholic School just starts to cover in Grade 11.

It's true. THe catholic boards keep over spending and building new schools where they aren't needed. The boards overrun their costs and it gets forgiven by the provincial government. Meanwhile... there will be an old public school running half empty because parents like new, shiny buildings. The Catholic System costs more than most people think...
