  1. Yeah, they expel or don't support the behavioural kids and send them to the public school. They don't offer the same support as Public Schools for Special Education. Get rid of the outliers and make yourself look better. Much like how private schools do it, just more subtly.
  2. $1519/year isn't worth it to me. (Rogers Ultimate Including Tax but not including PVR/HD Box Fees) $2/hour if you watch 2 hours a day. But... only 66%ish of TV time is actually TV(Commercials, Previews, ETC)... so it's really $3/hour of actual entertainment + 20 minutes of your life wasted. I'd rather go on another vacation and buy the few seasons of the shows I actually like(Breaking Bad, Dexter, Walking Dead), or watch online (like Fringe) I love NOT being exposed to commercials and I love that my children aren't either.

  4. nonsense. There is no proof that "no zeros" actually lead to more successful people. It's a feel good implementation that generates a higher graduation rate to refer to. NOTHING MORE. If anything, it cheapens the value of our education system. High School means nothing. Honour Roll means NOTHING.
  5. I have unlimited bandwitdth. 6Mbps (netflix only requires 3 for HD) and am with a small provider. Not a stellar connection, but it does everything I need it to. As far away from Rogers and Bell as possible, even though my ISP is using Bell lines.
  6. HD or Not, as long as I get the content (enjoyment) of the show I don't care. The less money I provide the telecom oligopoly the better. Right now we only have netflix as a paid service entertainment service, it's OK. Paired with gaming and internet entertainment, and hosted shows online, we get our entertainment. We have a single OTA digital channel where we are, turn it on when I just want to vegetate and don't care what's on. Cable/Sat TV free for a long time. Not planning on getting it any time soon. If I could pick the few channels I want without having to get a $100/month package, I'd consider. Until I can pick 5 channels and pay $10-$20/month to get exactly the ones I actually watch, I'm not giving my money to the dinosaurs.
  7. I watch my shows whenever a legitimate website is available. If I miss the window of opportunity that the streaming version is available. I use my special "world wide friends" PVR. The market has overpriced how much each episode costs... especially shows that air for free. In Toronto/GTA you don't even need Cable for the most part, just an antenna and you can get 20-30+ stations for free.
  8. It's funny because most of the Mac people I talk to sound exactly like that. They don't even know what any of it means. It's like the products run on rainbows and good karma or something.
  9. They have android music players for people who don't have an irrational need to spend lots of money. I'm waiting to see if they pick up a bit, or if that market of a tiny tablet that is useless for anything but simple games and plays music sticks around.
  10. Odd. I always hear that everyone deserves less, except of course any right wing poster. Right wing posters are the only ones who are apparently worth what they are paid... everyone else deserves less.
  11. We need anyone who will sensibly use a combination of cuts and tax increases to get rid of the deficit...
  12. The referendum should have been more like Should Ontario 1) Maintain our electoral system of First Past the Post 2) Investigate and apply a new electoral system My words aren't very good for it. But, something simlar. SHould we change it? I'd vote yes. Our current system gives those in power long runs to rape and pillage our laws without actually having majority support.
  13. I have plenty of logical reasons, you just choose to ignore them. - Sell parts for an outrageous premium when they can be found for less than half the price elsewhere. - Didn't even make their on Operating System (The only thing that makes Macs different) - Poor customer service -> Had to be sued before they replaced shoddy iBook/iPod hardware - Pusher of planned/forced obsolescence - Has a patent to prevent iPhone users from taking pictures at concerts to protect potential copyright. (Big Brother Apple Corp) - Deletes eBooks off of your electronics without refund because Apple made a mistake (Big Brother Apple Corp) - Apple actively participated in price fixing of eBooks "The customer pays more, but that's what you want anyway" - Steve Jobs - Steve Jobs also refused to admit his daughter was his, and let her live on welfare for years. There's more. No tech company has as much dirty baggages as Apple. If there was one thing I learned in Philosophy 101, it's that the greatest injustice is an unjust man seeming just to those around him. That is Apple. If I'm a hater of anything, it's people who mindlessly promote Apple.
  14. MMP was on the ballot. People weren't properly informed about what the referendum was about. Most didn't understand it. It does work. Run-off ballots is how parties elect their leaders. AV is actually more sensible. You rank your choices. So, I could vote green party, for instance. But, they likely won't win so then my second vote would get counted instead and Green Party eliminated from the running in my riding. I'll just let this silly video explain. Major parties do not necessarily benefit from it, and will not back or properly inform voters of the decision.
  15. Is this how you got your serving of God(Apple) today MSJ? Apple fans (especially those that go to blindly defend their beloved corporation) experience the same religious brainwaves looking at Steve Jobs, Apple Logo and Apple products as Christians do looking at the cross, Jesus and other imagery. http://articles.businessinsider.com/2011-05-21/tech/29982282_1_apple-stores-steve-jobs-brain Maybe meet up at the Apple chapel [Apple Store] for a prayer or two later? There's just no logical reason to pay 2-3times as much to accomplish the same task. It's like paying for an entry BMW that's really just a Ford Focus, made at a ford plant with a slightly different type of oil that may or may not work better and some chrome wheels.
  16. We have an iPod. It's a pain in the ass. Don't know how anyone could have thought the thing was "intuitive". We had an iBook, it was a piece of trash. I dont support companies that sell garbage at premium prices. Even if they try to fix up their act and still sell for a huge premium while claiming to be something different. Macs aren't magical. They are identical to PC's physically. Made with the exact same parts. Apple couldn't even write it's own operating system. It had to use Unix because they refused to hire proper operating system engineers. OS9 was absolute garbage. The list of Apple product failiures is much higher than their successes. http://9gag.com/gag/5195630 (Did apple ever really invent the software they claim to have?) (Has apple ever really invented anything - Hardware)
  17. YEah, the old people who he grandfathered to screw the anyone mid 40's and under really support him for keeping the ponzi scheme going.
  18. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2012/09/17/pol-duelling-fact-checks-carbon-tax-senate.html OK.. So... Mulcair is keeping on with a sensible idea, "The Polluter Pays" to destroy our air quality. And apparently that's a tax? What? Is paying someone to harvest their logs a tax? or the cost of producing a product? Is paying someone to use our Oxygen a tax? or the cost of producing a product?
  19. REFORM Alternate Voting makes SENSE.
  20. Harper has been doing a lot of fluff to turn around the conservative image... it worked a little bit. But, I can never personally vote for a party so closed and deceitful. Regardless of whether their polices merit consideration or not.
  21. Every worker is your servant. Doesn't mean I can tell the good people at Ford/Sobeys/Shoppers/etc. what they should be paid as a worker. Not saying we don't need restraint... Just that laws that put government above the constitution is not the way. And the attack on the younger generations is disgusting. If anything, we should be clawing back the wages of senior workers to keep younger workers wages higher. They have more debt and a poorer future outlook for prosperity.... and will be paying for those senior workers entitlements their entire lives. ****ing ponzi scheme we live in.
  22. That's over simplifying it. Everything we do is related to money.
  23. This isn't even about money any more. This is about rights, something the MSM has completely avoided mentioning... "An Act to implement restraint measures in the education sector" (Real Bill Name) Putting Students First Act (Short Name... lol) - http://www.ontla.on.ca/web/bills/bills_detail.do?BillID=2665&Intranet=&locale=en Bill 115 declares that the government is above the constitution and all law when it comes to matters relating to teachers. It also allows the Government the ability to reach into any agreement between union and school board to cancel any clauses it doesn't like, even though they had been negotiated fairly. That's just horse crap.
  24. Hudak didn't differentiate himself from other conservatives. "Hey, I'm just like this Harper and Ford guy combined!" didn't sell very well. Even a slogan of "A different type of conservative" could have changed it. Last year's provincial election was more about smoke and mirrors from all parties.
  25. I disagree. You can't target a government right after an election. But, you can piss the general public off on how the situation has been handled. Most students who can actually participate in sports are there because their parents paid for them to be schooled in athletics since they were young. They'll have to settle for playing with their iPhones instead... They'll be pissed and cry bloody murder but, they aren't being hurt. What teacher unions should do is say "Hey, we aren't doing it. Anyone in the community want to volunteer their time?" Then the community has no one to blame but themselves. But that'd require a criminal record check so it'd be a few months, and a government/board policy change to allow parents as coaches. Infact, I encourage any parent to start pushing for parents to be able to legally coach school teams without teacher supervision.
