I do remember times from the bygones where there were no homeless. I lived in a socialist city of 100,000 and most had no cars, and nobody was really rich, but there was nobody on the street or starving either. Don't take this is an endorsement of Russia or Putin. But to go back to the original subject, you have no time to replace gasoline and diesel with LNG or electric options; for sure not when you still want to increase consumption and the population, which your capitalist system is pushing you to do, as if you do not do it, it will collapse and die. Even after they kill someone, depending on who they are, they can continue doing what they have been doing. There was a young rich guy in Ontario who I think wiped out a family - two grandparents and a kid or two. He went to jail but from what I know has been released before serving more than 3 years. If you were here all of your life and your parents were here before you and managed to create some wealth and managed to buy some property back in the day, you may now retire and live the life. However a big percentage of Canada's population would be newcomers to Canada with 10 years or less in the country. I have 20 and haven't prospered all that much either. A newcomer is generally sold a small piece of s*t at a premium price and they line up to pay for it. If not enough are in the line, they start bringing in the refugees, temporary workers and students.

OK, so now we came to this 1 mil/year population growth as a factor, or rather a driving force behind the need for nuclear power. Now let me ask you this. What exactly do you personally gain from the 1 mil of Asians added to the Canadian population every year? I gain nothing! My quality of life goes down by the minute! Send them back and put the nuclear plants in their countries! But when they were back there they did not need all this power! You see how dumb we are now?????

Your point is unclear. First we need to determine if we need more energy or less. If we want to have more, we have to know what is the driving force behind the increase. Then if the increase is sustainable. I for sure do not need a nuclear plant just so we can have our population go up to 300 million, or so we can frack to get more LNG to ship to Asia, even if you agreed to put it in your back yard!

Your take is wrong on many levels. If it is our choice to bring a million low carbon emitting migrants every year to turn them into high carbon emitters, then we have to do it at no additional harm to the planet. No way? Then don't bring them here!

Nuclear power ? Another terrible choice. "Screw them" ? We will be screwed as well at the end. It is one planet.

It is not stupidity; it is the inherent need for growth of a system based on greed and endless expansion. You would need to change the system before any meaningful gains could be made, but this also seems impossible, because countries around the world are still using this same system as a model. As for the "mental illness", it has been fostered by the system over generations and this is the result.
