Are Nfld and Quebec Sustainable?
cougar replied to August1991's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I see; all those that got arrested did not know what to do. Allow me do disagree. -
Are Nfld and Quebec Sustainable?

Newfoundland has survived for exactly 74 years as a province Iceland and most other European and Asian countries have existed for many , many more years, like thousands of years earlier. -
Are Nfld and Quebec Sustainable?

Held them to account? How? Do you see this as being possible or happening any time soon? Sorry, I do not look at politics seriously. To me it is a complete waste of time. There are important causes worth fighting for, but that fight also goes nowhere,as the system is designed to drag you down. You can end up in jail like the freedom convoy leaders or the pipeline protesters or the old growth defenders, but then again this is as much as one can expect to achieve. -
Are Nfld and Quebec Sustainable?

They win (both liberals and conservatives) when people are fed up with the lies of one of them and they have to chose the other. Like a pendulum - it swings and nothing changes - only counts time. -
Are Nfld and Quebec Sustainable?

What was the subject of your post? "Sustainable"? Newfoundland relied on clobbering seals, netting cod and harpooning whales; population would have been smaller back then. All of this was definitely not sustainable, is no longer happening and cannot continue no more. Population keeps growing and my bet would be, if the provinces you mention still exist in 2130, their residents will speak with a pronounced Punjabi or Cantonese accents. -
I spent three weeks in Europe that highlighted what kind of garbage food we are fed here in North America. If you have a farm or access to local sources of produce and meat it may be a different story.

I can start boycotting all of the grocery oligopolies when I have my own garden and fill up my freezer with fish; maybe become a hunter too. The reality is they are offering us terrible products at equally terrible prices - all of them, including Wal-Mart

Those industries will never "do their thing"! It is the fox guarding the chickens kind of thing. But the carbon tax also does nothing and is just another Great Canadian Scam. I heard on the news how the tax goes up, but the rebates the citizens are getting are also going up and how 80% of them will be getting more carbon tax money in refunds than what they originally paid in carbon taxes ! That p* of s* Trudeau must think we have completely lost our minds?? Sorry to have to use profanities in just about every post I make, but i feel this reflects the sorrowful state of the country.

Canada's dangerous slide into antisemitism
cougar replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You tell us how the proportion of Muslims in Canada is growing and then how the Antisemitism in Canadians (?) is also growing. (at the same rate) Should this come as a surprise to anyone? Is this really bad? What is the concern here? -
blah , blah , blah, When I came to Canada population was about 30 million. Now it is 41 million. Do you dare to guess if we were ever going to have a housing problem or a sky rocketing real estate market and rents, or a decaying medical system if those 11 million Asian heads were left where they were on their continent??

Equality was not meant for the world but for people. The incentive and investment is the greed that destroys the planet. This is the human nature you are referring to - greed. It will turn out capitalism was the most destructive order ever invented - destroyed the human mind, destroyed humanity, destroyed the climate in the fastest way possible and eventually destroyed the world with all life on it.

You are staining Marx' name, but I would forgive your ignorance. Your God always gives you the wrong advice. There were no homeless during socialism and the main concept of communism is equality. Canada has never been any further away from communism as it is now. It is turning into a stinky s* As* country where its main population is feeding off the dumpsters and sleeping in tents, while the masterminds hide in their castles and throw away the tax payer money in international support to make the world believe Canada is some sort of a first class country.

Let us know how it goes. I filed a complaint using the Canada Post chat feature, just because I had time to waste. It took me 4 chat sessions because I was disconnected 3 times about 3/4 into the process. I had to start from scratch each time as the rep had no record of my previous chat session. They were wondering why I was unhappy when according to their last scan the item had been forwarded to its international destination. It just doesn't register with them that 22 days for a Birthday card to leave the country may be a bit excessive!

You think 604 is way better? A mailed a card registered mail that was supposed to go to Europe. It took the card 5 days to make it from 250 to 604 , then another 20 days to make it to Montreal, although there are planes leaving Vancouver for Europe every day and not just one. The whole country and the whole system is beyond hope.

I have always wondered where this "British Columbia" came from. Columbia is a country in South America. How it got its name "Columbia", I also do not know and do not care all that much. But how did part of Canada ended up being called Columbia ? Is it from the Columbia river, which was called Columbia by some explorer with very poor imagination? The Columbia river probably has an indigenous name, which if it reverts to, we may have to change the name of the province too.

Natural gas should be a public resource again
cougar replied to Griswold's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Don't play stupid. I have personal experience NOT being Jon Horgan. As for the actual John Horgan you get the updates from the news. One day he saw his family doctor ,next day he was in surgery. Try to get that type of fast service for yourself. -

Nope. You get fast medical service if you are John Horgan or the like. Otherwise you wait till there is no hope.
